That's not the end of the box, this year we had also launched the maiden edition of India MICE Youth Challenge (IMYC), a substantial effort to reach out to college students and attracting them to the industry. The previous month was full of happenings for the exhibition industry. We have not only witnessed some big events & exhibitions taking place, but also several congregations of international delegates in India. As the month comes to an end, we are heading to the 12th edition of the ICPB - CIC conclave in Kochi, Kerala. ICPB (India Convention Promotion Bureau) has recently also come up with its first ever comprehensive MICE report, providing some really informative insights about the size and scope of the MICE sector in India. As per the report, the Indian MICE industry grows @7.5% per annum, contributing around Rs. 35,576 crores every year to our economy. Although India's current contribution to the global MICE industry is just 0.96%, but report projects it to get doubled over the next five years, making India a hotspot in this sector. Lastly, I would like to thank you all for your constant support, love and encouragement over the years. And I look forward to your suggestions, opinions and feedback regarding our publications at raghav@exhibitionshowcase.com. Wish you a very happy reading!

What he and Shri Hasmukh Thakral said on it, is excerpted below: Agarba manufacturing was started in Mysore and Bangalore. While searching for the market, south Indian businesses preferred Maharashtra being a central loca on in India. All the manufacturers had their marke ng headquarters in JalgaonKhandesh area being a main railway junc on. there. Major consump on of agarba in the ’90s was in Maharashtra as per data of one of the Agarba associa ons. Major regional agarba players (manufacturers) also started their produc on in Maharashtra, specially in Nagpur, Nashik and Pune. At that me consumers of Gujarat and Rajasthan were using gums like Loban and Gugal. At that me the taste of Maharashtra people was changing me to me, like Between 2005-2010 Champa scented incense s cks were in demand While 2011-2013 was the me for Fruity, Soapy & Cosme c fragrances During 2014-2016 Powdery Aldehyde Rose was preferred and 2017-2018 was good for In mate type fragrance. Presently Pineapple scent incense s cks are in high demand. Maharashtra & Gujarat are known for accep ng changes and development. One of the live example is Safari Big; Even though Safari Big was the first pouch packed incense, it easily got acceptance in Maharashtra market because of the tendency of people.Maharashtra’s traders are known for Trust, Transparency and Right Communica on. Also, all the major commercial ac vity of the Central, Western and Deccan areas are covered by Mumbai and Maharashtra region. Mumbai is the head office of various
mul na onal firms, high quality perfumers, chemicals suppliers and export houses. Major Agarba firms finds it easy to reach Mumbai from Indore, Nasik, Pune, Nagpur and Surat. Mumbai port is also used to import and export the raw materials and incense s cks. In our understanding, Incense Media’s Mumbai Agarba & Perfume exhibi on will prove to be a beneficial one for local market, exporters and quality manufacturers. Through this B2B exhibi on, Incense business will achieve new heights and volume of business will also be increased. Mumbai expo will lead to growth in Oriental Market with Oriental Fragrances. Exhibition Showcase Talks To Phil Chung, CEO, Kinexin Convention Management
“In Asia, India is rapidly chasing a er Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea and China. According to the World Bank, by the year of 2022 India will rank world's number three. I hope that the government will ease the regula ons for crowd-funding so that one can easily get the budget for organizing new shows as a startup and then, you can probably collaborate with the global organizer. Also, ease of doing business, relaxa on in visa process and financial incen ves to travellers should be addressed by the Government.”
Exclusive Interview
ES. To begin with, for the benefit of our readers, please tell us about yourself as well as your organiza on in brief? Phil. My name is Phill Chung. I am the CEO and MD of the opera ng company of India Interna onal Conven on & Expo Centre (IICC), New Delhi, which is Kinexin. We made this company as the Special Purpose Company and a Private Limited company in July this year. As an individual, I was working for a U.S. so ware company ini ally and then my second career began in crea ng the largest venue and I have met lots of global joint ventures, doing partnership with them and I did M&A for businesses, organized many shows and did many venue rental services. Also, I have associated with one of the na on's largest exhibi on catering businesses. So, this was my journey in a nutshell and as a Business Development Director over the last 16 years in Korea's largest venue, I got involved with mul ple associa ons as an Execu ve Director and I worked as a occasional Speaker at universi es and fought for students. Broadly, I dedicated almost my en re career to the MICE industry, trying to promote Korea as the hub des na on of Asia MICE to the world. I got many world record events of all types, literally world records when it comes to the size of the people. ES: How do you perceive the role of Indian Associa on Congress (IAC) as a pla orm for connec ng associa ons in India? Phil: IAC is in seventh edi on in a row I recognize pre y much value of this gathering. I see this India Associa on Congress as a priceless gathering for all the associa on execu ves from many world events. A top man from Korea is a ending this conference and conveying wonderful insights about the scenery and I also as a person represen ng one of India's top venues side and also keenly interested in joining with associa ons as associa on are closely related with MICE industry because whatever exhibi ons you produce, associa on members are key members and biggest beneficiary at the same me of the exhibi on. They (associa on members) have to join and create synergy and they
are the organizers in 90% percent exhibi ons and 99% of associa ons' are stakeholders in this sector. So once they gather, they can make huge decisions, they can read each other's trend and they can come up with much be er insight for the future. ES: By when can we see the IICC Dwarka, New Delhi ge ng opera onal? Phil: IICC Dwarka's construc on has been really smooth and we started the construc on sanc oned by the Indian government last year almost around May. Actually it was originally planned to start the en re opera on in full swing from last January, but perhaps there were some land tenants who had not le as their promise. That's what I heard from the government that they had some problem with those exis ng tenants and then a er all the agreements got done and they started construc on from May. So we got li le delayed during the incep on of the construc on. The construc on has been really smooth and professional and we are working as their business consultant and as 'technical operability consultant' which means that we have to maximize the level of output ability of each part of the venue - when it comes to space lobby and indoor space and the func ons of each structure etc. So we are giving lots of technical and helpful inputs to them, which have reflected pre y much, and in an impressive manner. I was keenly impressed by the enthusias c support coming from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, NITI Aayog and even the Prime Minister's Office and embassies etc.

So I hope the construc on will be really smooth. And even a er that ini al sluggish period I expect that opening will be around the 1st of September for the exhibi on halls, followed by November 1st for the en re conven on hall comprising of seven storeys and 15 mee ng rooms of various sizes. The construc on period will be adjusted and the official commercial opera on date is to be issued formally by the government and it will be updated on our website www.iiccnewdelhi.com
Korea and China. When it comes to economy, according to the World Bank that by the year of 2022, India will rank world's number three. India has the widest English speaking popula on. So that's an amazing thing. And even from the job perspec ve, I hope that the government will ease the regula ons for crowdfunding. So that you guys can crowd-fund to get the budget for organizing new shows as a startup and then, you can probably collaborate with the global organizer.
And regarding the opera onal means, we should be impeccably prepared which means that certain and more than enough period of test training and defect-repair should be considered. So next year it's more like a test running, reviewing of those technical details and such.
Also, the government can ease the regula on of doing business. So less and lesser permits should be required. And even the visa process is quite tough. Even from Korea. I too have to fill out all the papers. And definitely what may be one of the most important thing is the Government Assistance Program which means to support interna onal conven ons coming into India. There can be some budget to support each travelling interna onal visitor and buyer by giving them some financial incen ves and to support their meals airfare and accommoda on etc. And support in terms of even tourism, i.e to get your major a rac ons well exposed to the outsiders so that they can get a lot more closer to India. So those kind of policies are needed and they have to boom it up by ge ng all the craziest ideas from youngsters.
ES. What impact the IICC Dwarka going to create on the exhibi on sector in India? Phil. That's huge because un l this moment India hasn't enjoyed its benefit of staging pre y much a number of interna onal conven ons. This is because they don't have any viable conven on centre like IICC and a typical format of the conven ons where you have things like our auditorium for six thousand people and a grand ballroom for twenty four hundred people etc. As you know, even in NCR, there is an IEML conven on centre but they have turned some por on of their expo hall into a kind of interim conference hall and didn't have a proper conven on setup. And so far as I have experienced, most of the venues don't have the proper set of AV screens and the high resolu on beam projectors, which is a very important equipment. So this means that up un l this moment there hasn't been any proper world class conven on setup. Now we are se ng it up at IICC, that is right next to IGI airport of New Delhi and hotels hub called Aero city. This will create a great synergy. We'll increase general pool of MICE in India and greater number of conven ons, trade shows and consumer shows can be expected with the coming up of IICC. The change has already begun and you will get a lot more shows in and out of India. The ci zens of India will be the biggest beneficiary of this. ES. What were some of the key challenges in building such a large conven on centre in India? Phil. For such a large venue, the construc on is always tough, even in Korea where we are more like construc on na on and have many the top global construc on companies. So the various steps of the construc on from procuring materials to finishing the work on me especially in India's simmering weather is challenging. But miraculously by this moment, everything has been really smooth and thanks to all those 6000 construc on crews who are working on a daily basis, trying to meet our deadline, which is phenomenal. ES. How do you see the role of the government of India in the en re ambit? Phil. In Asia, India is rapidly chasing a er Hong Kong, Singapore,

EXHIBITOR’S CORNER: IN TALKS WITH DR. SUJIT NAGRATH, COUNTRY HEAD, DENTAL MAMMOTH AT DELHI DENTAL SHOW; ES. Please introduce yourself and tell us something about the Delhi Dental show. Sujit. My name is Dr. Sujit Nagrath, country Head at Dental Mammoth. Dental Mammoth Ltd is a globally opera ng dental publishing company. Dental Mammoth´s mission is "Skills are based on knowledge" - we produce innova ve informa on services and products to support clinical work and educa on. Over here we have Mr. Heikki Au from Heisinki, Finland, designated as CEO, Publisher, MD, DDS, OMFS at Dental Mammoth. We have come here to take part in Delhi Dental show and exhibit the new product which is 'Clinical Decision Support System' which is an extremely useful tool for a den st at the point of source while trea ng the pa ents. ES. Tell us about the importance of exhibi on in terms of marke ng tools. Sujit. Dental Mammoth is a globally opera ng publishing company and we see India as a huge market for us and an important exhibi on like this in Delhi is a must for us. As things are moving towards the digital side, we are trying to bring the concept of prac ce management system, which is incorporated along with the clinical decision support system to make the performance and the work of den st easier. The idea behind coming and taking part in exhibi on in India is that you get to
meet different kinds of players from different aspects and we always looking to collaborate with them and further our growth of business in India. ES. What is your view about seminars conducted in the Delhi dental Show? How does it benefit the visitors? Sujit. The main advantage behind the seminars is that it is more helpful from the student's point of view. Here, they basically focus on topics which are more useful while you are at undergraduate and at Post graduate level. ES. How do you see IDA contribu ng in this sector?
Sujit. Earlier IDA use to have one show which was Indian Dental Conference so this is the new concept started as Delhi Dental Show and the World Dental Show which has given exhibitor like us another pla orm to be present and showcase our products in metro ci es like Delhi , Bangalore and Mumbai. So, it is a good ini a ve taken by Indian Dental Associa on. ES. Tells us about other shows where you par cipate.
Sujit. We take part in almost every interna onal show. The biggest one is IDA's which is organised in Cologne every year and the FDI which happens in different country, so in terms of Dental trade fairs these are the two biggest trade fairs organised interna onally and we have ac ve par cipa on in it.
ES. What would be your message to organiser? Sujit. A li le more marke ng is required. Honestly, I am a bit disappointed with the turnout. I feel they can work more on marke ng part to get in more relevant people to a end the event like this.

Once again, India was the fastest-growing large market as net space sold jumped by 10%, rising from 1.18 million m2 to 1.3 million m2. Other Southeast Asian markets that outperformed the regional average included Malaysia (7.7%), Vietnam (6.4%) and Singapore (5.4%). China, the region’s largest trade fair market, remained strong with growth of 5.5% in 2018. There are some clear macro-economic challenges ahead in 2019, but the trade fair industry in Asia looks well-posi oned to con nue to grow.”

"Under the umbrella of Green Week, the two exhibi ons are an ideal pla orm for showcasing the latest developments, solu ons, and technologies in renewable and clean energy. This supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform Dubai into a global hub for green economy and clean energy, which will provide 75 per cent of Dubai's power by 2050," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa and founder and chairman of Wetex. He added: "At Dewa, we launch innova ve ini a ves and solu ons in line with our vision to provide a sustainable world for
