st Exhibition Excellence Awards in India Brings together the Exhibition Industry Successfully

ith the support & blessings of IEIA, India's leading magazine on tradefairs- Exhibition Showcase organized First Exhibition Excellence Awards successfully on 23rd Jan 2016, hosted at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

About Exhibition Showcase: Exhibition Showcase has been serving the industry dedicatedly and sincerely trying to promote the industry through its print magazine, online portal and online television platforms. The monthly magazine & online portal reaches out to all elements of exhibition eco-system: Organizers, Services & Venues, Exhibitors, Trade Visitors.

Exhibition Excellence Awards Objective: The event is meant to honour & provide recognition to the champions of Indian Exhibition Industry and inspire the industry to reach greater heights in the year ahead. The event will serve well to motivate the industry to raise their standards and promote healthy competition among the fraternity. This will go a long way in reaching global levels of professionalism. Also, the event provided lot of visibility to the industry and government, corporate and international community will come to know about the Indian Exhibition Industry and the people behind it.

Attendance: The event was attended by over 280 exhibition professionals across India. Exhibition Excellence Awards were held in the presence of Sh. Madan Chauhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) U.P. Govt, Mrs Renu Sharma – Chairman of BJP All IndiaWomen Entrepreneur Cell, Mr.Harinder Yadav – Chairman Zila Parishad , Mr. JK Sharma - Joint Commissioner of Police and Mrs.VimlaBatham – MLA Noida.There was good representation from various cities apart from Delhi/NCR. Cities represented included – Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahemadabad, Indore,Kolkatta, Agra, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Trisoor, Chennai, Bihar, Jharkhand etc.


Supporting Bodies: The initiative was supported by The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skill Development Council, The Indian Exhibition Industry Association, Indian Exhibition Services Association & Indian Industries Association.

Award Categories: There were total 20 nomination categories for Exhibition Organizers, Venues, & Services. The award categories were made to ensure that both big and small players get enough chances to come in the limelight and so that there can be wholesome involvement of industry from across India. The categories also ensured that shows from multiple industries and multiple cities get involved. The parameter for judging was primarily on the basis easily verifiable statistical information like no. of exhibitors etc. International research firm – “Econ One” was hired to screen nominations. The categories also segregated private players, trade promotion bodies, non-annual shows, first time organizers, small city organizers, multi-city shows, shows with max. conferences, shows held abroad, fastest growing show, grand venue, structure supplier, conference organizer, Hotel that promotes exhibitions. Apart from this, there were also editor's choice award categories namely Lifetime Achievement award, outstanding contribution to Exhibition Industry, Outstanding contribution to trade promotion, Leading Ladies in Exhibition Industry, MSME promotion award. There were four unique live competition categories where each team had 3 minutes to put their points in front of the esteemed jury and the audience. All categories were very well appreciated by the audience as it served well to provide for the knowledge appetite of the attendees. The teams used powerpoint presentations to a great extent and shared their best practices with the audience. The esteemed jury comprised of Mrs Rita Menon – Former CMD of ITPO, Mrs.Tarang Khosla – Editor Exhibition Showcase, Mrs, Manjula Mishra – Chairperson Indian Industries Association and Dr.Sajnani – Dean at Amity Institute of Tourism, Amity University. The live competing categories and winning teams were: v Leader in Marketing Initiatives – Won by UBM - Cphi v Leader in Crisis Management – Won by PLastivision v Top Exhibitor Value – Won by IMTEX v Excellence in Services – Won by BIEC

Post Event Report Panel discussion: The event began with a power packed panel discussion on How Exhibitions can foster the National Make in India, Skill India and Smart City initiative. The speakers brought in a lot of industry experience and insights and the discussion was well received by the audience. The speakers in this panel included:

The event concluded with networking cocktail dinner for all attendees.
