TEACHING AIDS
OUR 2013 CUSTOMER SURVEY RESULTS We are very pleased to publish the results of our annual Teaching Aids customer satisfaction survey. We would like to thank all staff who took the time to complete the questionnaire. We had a record number of respondents and we think you will agree that the results show how impressed and happy you are with the service you receive from Teaching Aids.
PHOTOCOPIER LOCATIONS You may have noticed that we have either replaced or relocated several staff copiers around the college campuses. This is part of a Teaching Aids phased plan to upgrade the fleet of multi function devices across the sites providing staff with the ability to scan, print and copy. So to help you find your nearest staff copier (and your back up device) here are the locations of all the main staff machines across the campuses:
Broadway: C Floor: PDC, B Floor: The Hub, A Floor: A6a and A21, D8, G303, & The Employment Hub Evolve: EV120, EV239, EV324 & EV411 Dudley Sixth: DS114. Priory Villa: Ground Floor. Mons Hill: Outside MH505. Wolv St: Ground Floor. Helpful Tip: Don’t print originals to then forward for copying, please help to save paper, time and costs by attaching the documents to an email and send to Teaching aids for completion. If you require any further advice or guidance on accessing the above devices or anything else regarding Teaching Aids services please don’t hesitate to contact Teaching Aids staff on extension 3211.

USEFUL PROPORTAL
ProPortal allows you to track and contribute to your progress at college. This could be entering important information about your future, reviewing information that your tutor has spoken to you about or just learning more about your progress. There are some additional key sections which we would like to highlight to you:
Your Timetable View your up to date lesson timetable directly from the system. You can access this from a smartphone or tablet device using the same login details as you would on a college PC.
Actions and Comments See important information that has been put onto the college system by staff.
Markbook On some courses, you will be able to track the progress you have made through the course by clicking on “Markbook�.
Attendance Information -
Check your attendance and lateness record for each lesson that you should have attended at college.
You may have also noticed a smiley face (or not so smiley) on your ProPortal picture. Please note the table to the right.

Do you want the skills to study well?

Do you need to improve your assignments? The iPoint and Library teams have created six key tailor-made sessions to support students. These sessions are: E-Safety Ideal for in-class delivery, these sessions are CEOP approved and explain how to stay safe online. Harvard Referencing These sessions can be adapted to meet the needs of students and cover plagiarism, referencing and bibliographies. Assignment Workshop We can support students with researching and structuring assignments. Office 2010 Make sure you are familiar with Office 2010 with our sessions on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. We can also provide detailed training on how to create leaflets, posters or anything else needed to complete your studies. Athens & e-resources Find out how to access electronic resources using Athens. Learn how to make effective use of the internet and how to search the library catalogue. Basic Library and Computing Information This session covers logging onto computers, changing passwords and using e-learning. We also introduce you to the library facilities.
