The Great Witness

As spiritual beings on a planetary journey, our hearts desire peaceful and loving ways forward for everyone. We recognize the importance of being conscious participants on this journey, knowing our attention and intention impact our personal and shared experiences. We walk in two worlds; one of emerging beauty as well as a world of overwhelm and challenge. Our compassion nudges us to spiritually serve both worlds. How do we do this? By understanding and navigating the power of the “Witness” that enables us to greatly influence peaceful and loving ways forward for everyone.
What is the Witness?
The Witness is an awareness phenomenon that encompasses the vibrational field of every human belief, memory, and vision as well as that field’s corresponding contribution to creating, transforming, and sustaining the human experience by simply observing it. The Witness may or may not respond to what it is observing, yet the function of simply observing is a significant contributor to our world conditions and experiences. Wisdom masters and quantum scientists have already asked the question, “Would anything exist without an observer?” They have responded by demonstrating that the observation of a condition at the particle and wave level is a major influence on that condition as measured by where the particles are located and what the waves are doing! Hence, the Witness “matters and materializes”!
How does the Witness function?
The Witness functions by generating thoughts and feelings as it observes, thereby contributing the energy and information that enable the behaviors and circumstances in our lives. This can be both good and bad news. Since “what we see is what we get”, let us look at a few examples of witnessing within various levels of awareness: • Perception Witness: Functioning at the sensory level, the perception witness experiences events through filters of limited perception. Example: An oncoming car in one lane swerves and barely misses hitting a car in the other lane. The swerving driver shouts “PIG” at the safe driver in the other lane. Seconds later, the safe driver is wondering why he was called “PIG” when he was clearly in his lane. He then rounds the curve and narrowly misses hitting a 300-pound pig in the road! Hence, the perception witness may or may not have a full understanding of what he just saw or heard. • Underlying Witness: Functioning at the automatic response level, the underlying witness is primarily influenced by the beliefs and emotions that become a powerful factor of one’s behavior and experience. Example: A woman watches a movie about an orphan boy who rescues an injured dog from drowning in a river and the woman cries with joy at the happy ending. Yet, it is only a movie. She knows that no real dog got injured. However, she automatically reacted with perhaps a deeper emotion than she typically experiences in “real”

life. Example: A teenager binge-watches conspiracy videos for six hours and stays awake all night with anxiety. No surprise here. Repetitive thought and emotion yield guaranteed experience, real or imagined. Once triggered, the underlying witness processes any embedded belief or emotion regardless of content. Happy tears or sad tears, it matters not to the underlying witness. • Inner Witness: Typically experienced in meditation and higher awareness states, the inner witness functions at the most conscious level of one’s being. Sometimes called the Higher Self or Soul, the inner witness contemplates and assimilates spiritual qualities such as love and wisdom that invisibly stream forth into the formative world as inspired ideas, thoughts, and feelings., Examples: A visionary artist first resonates with the spiritual frequency of beauty and then picks up her paint brush of inspiration. A writer reflects upon his message until it opens his spiritual heart. The message content then flows abundantly, making harmonious impact with spiritual vibration as its accomplice. • Great Witness: This is the Divine Witness, the Witness of Creation’s Perfection. The Witness of the Will to Good. The Witness of Pure Love that witnesses all witnessing on every level.
What is our Way Forward?
Because our senses have limited perception and our beliefs and emotions are automatically productive regardless of content, how do we enable the peaceful • Understand and use the Laws of Frequency and Vibration whose primary language includes inspired ideas, thoughts and feelings. Notice that many
perceptions, beliefs, and emotions are more harmonious or more error-prone than others. Witness them without judgment to naturally gravitate toward more conscious ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Offer clarity to the perception witness through the transformative works of wisdom teachers. The calibration teachings of David Hawkins are both comprehensive and eye-opening. • Practice a meditation path that includes the inner witness as well as an active life based on spiritual qualities. As you go through the day, pay attention to the content of your thoughts, feelings, and inclinations for action. Are they generating frequencies of the spiritual qualities you wish to experience? If yes, silently feel gratitude so that the qualities are magnified. If no, transition both attention and intention to something that generates spiritual qualities while engaging in physical activity. • Keep feet on the ground by remaining aware of and supporting environmental factors and sociological conditions that pierce the veil of error-perception while demonstrating the evolutionary pulse of the Great Witness a little more today than yesterday.
We are here to experience spiritual reality while dancing on this sweet Earth!
Spiritual matters are spiritually discerned and demonstrated. And for those on a spiritual path, witnessing is an all-important guide as we navigate all awareness levels. Can I get a Witness?
