Tips To Get Maximum Out of a Hotel in Shirdi Whether you are visiting Sai Dham for the first time in your life or you are a regular visitor to this sacred place, it is utmost important to book a hotel in Shirdi well in advance. Although Shirdi has developed a lot in the last decade, still considering the huge rush of pilgrims especially during the festive season, it is quite important to plan your journey and stay. Given below are some quick reminders to make your experience a lifetime remembrance. Tip#1: Train journey is far better now Most devotees prefer to come to Shirdi by road. Not many are aware that Sai Nagar railway station is at a stone throw distance from the Sai Dham temple. There are direct trains to many big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, which run on daily basis. The Indian Railways also runs special trains during festivals. If you do not find a train to your city from Sai Nagar, Check for a train from Manmad. It is a railway junction located at a distance of about 50 kilometers from Sai Dham Mandir with shared taxis playing round the clock. Tip#2: To save time flying to Mumbai is better than Aurangabad If you are planning a short trip to Sai Dham mandir, Mumbai Airport is a better option than Aurangabad. The former is about 250 Kilometers whereas Aurangabad Airport is approximately 150 Kilometers, but from Mumbai, there are daily flights to almost all airports in India as well as most international capital cities. But from Aurangabad, only few cities are connected. Also, Mumbai to Shirdi is a national highway with buses and taxis playing round the clock where as road to Aurangabad are not that well maintained. An airport is under construction near Shirdi and is likely to be operational by the end of this year. Tip#3: Be flexible and ready to extend your stay Being the most visited pilgrimage in the country; devotees start lining up in front of Sai Dham Mandir from 5 am only. During festivals, it may take three to four hours of standing in queue before one can enter the temple premises. It is always better to book a hotel in shirdi for one day extra so that in case you are unable to attend the Aarti on the day of arriving here, you can attend the ceremonies on the next day. Tip#4: Avoid falling in trap of local agents One goes to a pilgrimage with devotion and expects the same from other devotees. But life is full of surprises and it may not be wise to trust unknown agents in any tourist place. They give false hopes and often dupe unsuspecting pilgrims. In case you have plans to visit nearby places like Shani Shinganapur Mandir, Trimbak, Ellora caves, Shiv Mandir etc., check with the travel desk of the hotel you are staying in. They will definitely guide you to an authentic travel agency. Tip#5: Roadside eateries are not a good option Most tourists, places have plenty of eateries popularly known as Dhaba but the quality of food is not up to mark in most of them. Try to stay in a hotel in Shirdi with a 24x7 restaurant in it. If you are going on local sightseeing, ask for a lunch pack from the hotel’s restaurant only.
