Playing Conditions Under 16s: 30 minute halves Under 17 Girls: 25 minute halves Under 13s, 14s, & 15s: 25 minute halves Under 10s, 11s, & 12s: 20 minute halves (In all games time off for injury applies) In all matches involving International Rules, half time will consist of 10 minutes. In Mod League Rules half time will consist of 5 minutes. In the event of a draw in a Mod game Grand final, then the two (2) teams shall be declared Joint Premiers. In the event of a draw in an International Grand Final, then 2 periods of 5 minutes extra time shall be played. If the match is still drawn after this time, then the teams concerned shall be declared Joint Premiers.

CODE OF CONDUCT - PLAYERS •
Be a good sport. Respect all good play whether from your team or the opposition and shake hands with and thank the opposition players and officials after the game win, lose or draw.

Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.
•
Always respect the referee’s decision.
•
Never become involved in acts of foul play.
•
Honour both the spirit and letter of the competition rules and live up to the highest ideals of ethics and sportsmanship; avoid gamesmanship and respect the traditions of the game.
•
Never engage in disrespectful conduct of any sort including profanity, sledging, obscene gestures, offensive remarks, trashtalking, taunting or other actions that are demeaning to other players, officials or supporters.
•
Care for and respect the facilities and equipment made available to you during training and competition.
•
Safeguard your health; don’t use any illegal or unhealthy substances.
•
Recognise that many officials, coaches and referees are volunteers who give up their time to provide their services. Treat them with the utmost respect.
•
Do not bet or otherwise financially speculate, directly or indirectly, on the outcome or any other aspect of a Rugby League match or competition in which you are involved.
CODE OF CONDUCT - SPECTATOR/PARENTS •
Condemn all violent or illegal acts, whether they are by players, coaches, officials, parents or spectators.
•
Respect the referee’s decision - don’t complain or argue about calls or decisions during or after a game.
•
Behave! Unsportsmanlike language, harassment or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
•
Encourage players to play by the rules and to respect opposition players and officials.
•
Never ridicule or scorn a player for making a mistake - respect their efforts.
•
Understand that sport is part of a total life experience, and the benefits of involvement go far beyond the final score of a game.
•
Participate in positive cheering that encourages the players in the team you are supporting; do not engage in any cheering that taunts or intimidates opponents, their fans or officials.
•
Remember that children participate in Rugby League for their own enjoyment, not yours!
•
At all times, follow the direction of the Ground Manager and/or other match day staff.
•
Never arrive at a Junior League game under the influence of alcohol, never bring alcohol to a Junior League game.

CRRL Chairman Noel Bissett Set to Retire
Canberra Region Rugby League Chairman, Noel Bissett has announced that he will retire from the role at the conclusion of the 2018 Annual General Meeting this December. Bissett, who is one of only nine Canberra Raiders life members, served on the CRRL committee for 21 years and was Chairman for 12 of them said that he believed it was the right time to retire. “I consider it a privilege to have served during these years,” Bissett said. “Rugby League people are good people and I have made many friends which I treasure very much.
“I want to thank the Canberra Raiders, John McIntyre, Simon Hawkins and Don Furner for their confidence in appointing me as Chairman, I consider it an honour.” Bissett’s retirement ends his 52 years of direct involvement with rugby league within the Canberra region. Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner said Bisset, a Raiders life member, had made a wonderful contribution to the game over many years and would be sorely missed by the rugby league community. “Noel is a legend of the game in this region and has been one of the most passionate and wonderful contributor to the game we’ve seen in Canberra,” Furner said. “His achievements as a referee and then administrator will never be forgotten and we wish him nothing but the best for the future.” CRRL General Manager Mark Vergano echoed Furner. “Noel has been an outstanding servant of our game over the years,” Vergano said. “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work alongside him these last three years and I wish him all the best for the future.” Bissett refereed 275 Country Rugby League matches, including 11 Grand Finals and was graded into the Winfield Cup, becoming the first Canberra referee to control First Grade in Sydney. Bissett was heavily involved with Canberra referees, serving as the Director of Referees between 1999-2008 as well as serving as the inaugural president of the Canberra/Monaro Men of League between 2008-2018. Due to his contribution to Rugby League within the Canberra region, Bissett is only one of nine Canberra District Rugby League Life Members. As well as this, Bissett was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2013 for his service to sport and rugby league.
