MONSAL DALE DATA

Gauge & Scale: 'N' gauge, 2mm Features: Some reduction in scale length of the section of the Midland line between Headstone and Cressbrook tunnels at Monsal Dale. However the principal features (viaduct, over and under bridges, station and passing loop) have been retained. Operation: 1960 is the principal intended operational period for the layout, albeit at a greatly increased frequency. However, it is possible that the layout may operate as either modern image, assuming that the proposed re-opening of the line came to fruition, or as a preserved line, assuming the Peak Railway Society extended their line to Buxton. Logistics:

Transit type van. Minimum of three, but ideally four Insurance value: To be advised

Size: Dimensions for layout are 15ft x 4ft (4.6m x 1.2m). Add minimum of 2ft at sides and back as access for maintenance gives an overall footprint of 19ft x 6ft (5.8m x 2m). Viewing Viewing is generally from the front. However, viewing from the left hand side would also be desirable (the view from Monsal Head car park).
