That’s why we rigorously test all of our fabrics to ensure we’re giving you the right information. Rainbird is an Australian company, that’s why we always test to Australian standards. But don’t worry, we know how confusing the ratings can be when you’re out and about shopping for that perfect weather-proof item. But it’s always worth asking the question: which country is that rating adhering to? Otherwise you’ll never get a true evaluation of the product in hand. As an approximate comparison, check out the below waterproof ratings for the exact same piece of fabric we tested: Australian and New Zealand Standards = 10,000mm Japan Industry Standards = 20,000mm

So always remember to ask which countries ratings have been used! The higher the number doesn’t always mean the better the performance if you’re comparing varying standards.

CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT AND SOCIAL MATERIALS

PRODUCTS

To ensure that our customers get consistent, good quality products and services our supply chain is either ISO 9000 certified or we encourage our suppliers to follow these practices to ensure quality management systems are in place.

By manufacturing high-quality garments that last for years, products are kept out of landfill and reduces the need to purchase replacement products.

Our high standards ensure that the products and services we provide consistently meet customer requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. Whenever possible we use recycled content to reduce landfill waste and the use of virgin raw materials. We set expectations with our fabric mills and dye houses that they are to take actions to reduce the potential harmful environmental impacts of chemicals. We ensure that carcinogenic dyes are not used in the production of our products â&#x20AC;&#x201C; we encourage and influence our suppliers to have a certificate of conformity from Oeko-Tex which demonstrates that the fabric has been tested and conforms to their standards for harmful substances. Whenever possible using yarn made from natural materials that are sustainable and versatile resources such as bamboo. Assurance of animal welfare through using high quality synthetic fills and faux fur on our garments.

Our garments are backed with a 3 year warranty. Whenever possible we use sustainable innovation as a part of the development of new products. By working with suppliers that make high-quality materials and goods we are conscientious of reducing their environmental and social impact.

PACKAGING AND DELIVERY We ensure that all polybags used in the packaging of our products are recyclable. All hangers we use are recyclable. By reducing waste through packaging innovation, without compromising on our strict quality control and product manufacturing requirements. We follow a strict QC process in line with AS 1199.1-2003 and consistently maintain a major fault rate of less than 1% across all products that we manufacture. Our QC team inspect goods at each stage of the manufacturing process from the initial sample, fabric, pre production, start up, inline, preshipping and upon delivery here in Australia.
