On-Campus Interviewing

On Campus Interviewing (OCI) The On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program provides you an opportunity to interview with employers each quarter for summer internships and full-time positions available upon graduation. Each year, more than 150 companies conduct interviews with juniors, seniors and graduate students in the Career Center. Most interviews serve as a first step toward interviewing at corporate sites which may lead to exciting internships and/or job offers. Many students who have participated in our program have been hired straight out of college for very rewarding positions.

In order to participate, you must be a current SCU student with a BroncoLink account, and you must complete the OCI Webshop online (www.scu.edu/careercenter/students/oci/ index.cfm). All components of interview scheduling are conducted via the Web, including resume submission, student registration, and interview sign-up. Students view company job descriptions and submit resumes on line to employers for prescreening. Once contacted, you must go online to schedule an interview. Interviews are conducted at the Career Center, located in Benson Memorial Center. The instructions below provide registration information. If you have questions, you can call the Career Center at 408554-4421, come to a Drop-in appointment, or contact the Assistant Director for Employer Relations, Courtney Budziak, at cbudziak@scu.edu. How to register with BroncoLINK and access oncampus interviews Go to www.scu.edu/careercenter. Enter your Username and Password in the BroncoLink

with a BroncoLink account. It’s important that your profile information is up-to-date. In addition, you must complete the On-Campus Interviewing Webshop for every year in which you wish to participate in the program

How to submit your resume and sign up for interviews Each interview schedule is either “preselect” or “open.” Preselect schedules are those in which you submit your resume online during the period of “Resume Submission” for review by the employer. The employer will then review your qualifications and determine whether or not to invite you to interview. “Open” schedules are those in which you can select your interview appointment at the time you submit a resume. You must still meet the employer’s requirements. Each online position listing indicates whether the schedule is “Preselect” or “Open” and the dates for resume submission and sign-ups. Log in to BroncoLink and select “jobs/internships” from the top navigation bar. Select “All Interviews” in the “Show Me” dropdown box and click the “Search” button. Click on a job title to view full details about the position. The “Application Status” section will show you whether you meet the qualifications specified by the employer. If you have met the qualifications, you may apply to the posting by submitting the required documents. If you have not met all the qualifications, the unmet requirements will be listed. Be sure to submit your resume before the resume submission deadline. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified via e-mail and/or a notification will appear on your BroncoLink homepage. You can also check “Interview Requests” in the “My On-Campus Interviews” section. (If you have not completed the OCI Webshop, this button will be grey and you will not have access.) Once you have been pre-selected, be sure to note the dates of the sign-up period. In some cases, you may have to wait a day or two before the sign-ups are open and you can select a time slot. If the sign-up period has closed, contact the Career Center at 408-554-4421 to see if any slots are still available.

How to change an interview time Interview schedules close three business days prior to the employer visit. If you need to reschedule an interview prior to this time, you should: Log in to BroncoLink and select “Scheduled Campus

Interviews” from “quick links.” Find the appropriate interview under the “Scheduled

Interviews” tab and select “Reschedule.” You will ONLY be able to change your time if there are other open slots. If there are fewer than three days before the interview, you MUST come to the Career Center to change an interview time. How to cancel an interview time If for any reason you need to cancel an interview with an

employer, you MUST contact the Career Center by 1:00 p.m. at least two business days prior to the scheduled interview. This will allow us time to contact students on a standby list or notify the visiting employer. Any cancellation without appropriate notice is consid-

ered a no-show. A no-show requires that you write a letter of apology to the employer within one day of the interview and bring it to the Career Center’s Assistant Director for Employer Relations for approval. The Career Center will mail your approved letter to the employer. Until a satisfactory letter is provided to the Career Center

for approval, you will be barred from further participation in the OCI program. If your scheduled interviews result in more than one no-

show, you will be permanently disqualified from the OCI program. On-Campus Interviewing is one of many ways to promote your job search efforts. Be sure to come by the Career Center to check out the other resources available for conducting a successful job search.
