may 2009 Dear Friend of the Heart, They say that if you want to hear God laugh, just tell Him/Her your plans. Both Suzanne and I have been aware of vast changes occurring in our life over the last six months and it seems we are being called ‘like so many’ to clean house, to simplify and open time and energy to be more focused and committed in a few key areas.
This precious moment brings with it the opportunity to thank you for your support and let you know how much we value you as a friend and fellow traveller. If you are new to the Free Spiritual Library or Way of the Heart site – Welcome, it’s really great to have you with us. After 13 years the print version of the Way of the Heart Journal has ceased. Within some weeks of making the decision we had such amazing feedback from our friends of the Heart, that they really value and effectively use the many and varied teachings, that we began to wonder. We realized that in our website we had the perfect vehicle to provide a vast Spiritual Library. All the archive material from so many past publications, created in what is called ‘pdf’ format require relatively minimal rebuild to separate the files and place them in categories or by author. So was borne the Free Spiritual Library offering great wisdom from so many wonderful international spiritual teachers and those sharing profound lived experiences. Articles continue to arrive from writers everywhere, so began the new version of the Way of the Heart Journal. Before we could only offer one Journal every three months, now the archive grows daily. We fully acknowledge the importance of the internet as an eco friendly medium for communication and we intend to use this to expand and offer all manner of services and resources as free informational downloads for all the members of this ever expanding Way of the Heart family. Isn’t life Grand! A friend, Michael Lightweaver, just shared with me his thoughts on change: 1

“There are two ways of looking at this; ‘Oh my God, what am I going to do now that it is gone’ or, Like Martin Luther King; ‘Free at last, Free at last. Thank God Almighty, I’m free at last!” While I follow the Martin Luther concept absolutely – it did come as a bit of a shock to realise that all my experiences for 13 years had been based around the concept of the publication as my identity, who I am (was). With that came the understanding that all the ‘experiences’, ‘history’ and ‘stories’ have to be let go along with the identity otherwise, its a bit like getting a divorce and keeping the marriage bed and the treasures horded from a ‘dead’ relationship. It was very disorientating as the full import dropped in. The thought came up, “If I am no longer a ‘publisher’, then who am I?” Thirteen years ago I was at a crossroads – it almost feels like I am back there again, but this time a deeper understanding. At that time, a great man asked when I was going to GIVE BACK. I said I had nothing to give anyone and his reply was that this is not my life, it is God having the experience through me and I have attempted to keep it for myself and that it was time to give the sum of those experiences back to the Father. At that time, I found sufficient trust to be able to let go and I offered myself up to that One, within days – 4 to be precise – I was gifted the Sedona Journal to bring to Australia and New Zealand from America. And within 30 minutes of saying, “YES” to that possibility, there was a shift in my dimension as a new world opened for me, taking me on this wild ride into the exploration of ‘spirituality’ and self. I have really come to understand (truly get) the concept of waiting for God to show me what He/She wants. It is quite obviously not my life any longer. I have said this before, but never truly felt it quite as powerfully as I do now. So here we go again. I give myself to the ‘Experience’ and let it take me. I know that I am safe, I know that there is nothing to fear, I know that (as Michael Beckwith says so well at the LA Agape service, “I am only here for God!” How blessed am I? To have reached this place, this level of understanding (knowing) and even though the ego still has its pull, I see it so clearly and that’s Ok too, just allow and not flinch or allow myself to be pulled into it. Last week, I was preparing the text we worked on during the October Pilgrimage to Israel – called “What Is This For” – (you can access this article through the Library) it is so profound. I know that the only thing I have to do is connect with God. I realise that there are two types of love – NATURAL LOVE which is where I feel worthy, love myself and am self reliant and express and extend love to those I meet. I have been focused on that for most of this journey. What I realise now www.wayoftheheart.net

is that what I want now is DIVINE LOVE where I give everything over to that One (God) and let Him work through me. I know now that this is my Path. I know that this is the only way I will my Soul potential in this lifetime and I really want that! At the beginning of May, Suzanne and I with Wayan, our founder of Karuna Bali and Taka from LIVING VALUES Indonesia along with 12 others spent a week in Byron Bay in two workshops and later in Train the Trainer workshops, in Living Values. The result of exploring and awakening to these values has left an indelible impression of all of us. In opening to these intrinsic values so to do we open to God – the connection is tangible and real. In our adventure in Service with the Indonesian project of Karuna Bali Suzanne and I have discovered how important the concept of ‘paying it forward’ is – sharing and continuously becoming more alive through giving back the sum of the experiences that we have been given, merely for the purpose coming to know God. Offering these workshops in Australia and as we travel opens a whole new realm.
“Thank You” in deepest humility to each and every one of you who share this journey with us. I am home for the winter months, consolidating our activities, developing this new Way of the Heart library, so that it will be more interactive and user friendly and developing the funding activities with Karuna Bali in preparation for the Living Values Education expansion. Then I am off to play in India with a small group in September – would you like to join us? Check out the tours section of the website. Suzanne is away in Bali for six weeks fulfilling her long term desire to open a counselling practice and offer workshops and seminars and will be offering a Living Values workshop in Bali in May, and Way of the Heart workshops in Singapore and Hong Kong in June. Anyone wishing to contact her by email can do so at: suzanne@elohim.com We are relaxed, happy in our surrender and await new developments with delight. We will keep you posted – monthly now... please stay in touch with us and if you have not already done so, we welcome you to register your email address on this home page to receive ongoing newsletters and updates. Love and Blessings,
Raj
