ollywood star Akshay Kumar says that “Action Replayy” is his first romantic comedy with Aishwarya Rai and he was blushing through the making of the retro cool movie. “It is my fifth film with director Vipul Shah and definitely another one to remember. Ash and I had a brief romantic interlude in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Khakee’, but ‘Action Replayy’ is our first romantic comedy together. Believe me, I was blushing through the making, “ Akshay said in a statement. “There’s a lot I wish to tell my audience about. But Vipul wants me to keep things under wraps for the moment.” Akshay says he was thrilled to be a part of “Action Replayy” that is set in the 1970s when his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna was hailed as the first superstar. “It’s a very special film for me for many reasons. This is my tribute to the 1970s that was the greatest retro era. I was kicked with the idea because I’m entering the time in cinema where my father- in - law was a superstar, “ said A kshay. “ A c t i o n Replayy” is
all about rewinding your life and the film is said to be high on style quotient and emotionally rewarding too. “It is a fun-genre romantic film, “ said Aishwarya. The film revolves around Kishen and Mala - two bickering senior citizens who rediscover romance on their 33rd wedding anniversary, when their son gets them into rew mode. “For me, it was an exciting experience because I could bring together Aishwarya and Akshay, a pair I had been wanting to cast for sometime now. They’re both good looking, super-talented and what’s more, they’re fashion icons as well. Akki has made an amazing screen pair with some of the existing girls but believe me, he and Ash are extra special, “ said Shah.

bbas Tyrewala is not the first Indian director to pair his wife with an actor. For decades the legendary V Shantaram directed his two wives, first Jayshree and then Sandhya in films co-starring himself and other actors. But Abbas’s film tentatively titled 1-800Love is a unique case. Here for the first time in Indian cinema, Abbas directs his own wife Pakhi and that too in an intense love story, featuring Bollywood’s resident pinup boy John Abraham. To add to the intriguing scenario there is the fact that Pakhi who has written the screenplay had a massive crush on John during college and wrote the film with him and herself in mind. Says Abbas, “There’s no denying the fact that Pakhi and John share a tremendous chemistry on screen. And I’m glad! Imagine, if they looked incompatible or anything less than made for each other! What would have happened to my film?!” The trick for Abbas was to leave his wife at home when he came on sets. “The girl I was directing in the film was not my wife. She was the actress chosen because she suited the role. Hats off to John and Pakhi for being such professionals.Yeah initially I was a little

Emraan Hashmi’s
miraculous escape! It so happened that Emraan, who is currently working on Bhatts’ upcoming film CROOK being directed by Mohit Suri, was shooting for a crucial action sequence on the streets of Australia. While shooting the scene he met with a accident. However, he survived harmless but the camera, with which they were
shooting, smashed into pieces. Mahesh Bhatt narrates the entire incident on his Twitter page, “While shooting on a Melbourne freeway, Emran was driving at the speed of 60 km. His car went 2 ft off the ground after hitting the camera. Luckily the car didn’t go off the road. Since Emran was driving at great speed he couldn’t afford to swerve, so went over the camera which smashed into pieces.”
Tanushree Dutta’s Laundry lessons The bong beauty Tanushree Dutta still had a few things to learn in life that she knows are of supreme importance, one being driving & the other doing her own laundry & using the laundry machine.
W
ell she has succeeded in learning to do one of them & is feeling quite happy about it. As Tanushree is in US currently, she made sure that she learns the most basic of it all to survive in a place without house help. She is very proud to have learnt how to use the laundry machine and that now she can roam around the streets walking free without any tensions or needing to shop for more clothes. All she said to this is, “I am quite happy to have learnt this as it was something I have been dying to do for the last five years”.

he makers of Milenge Milenge have denied reports that actress Kareena Kapoor is playing truant with producer Boney Kapoor in doling out shooting dates for the promotional video and publicity shoot of the film. Milenge Milenge, which is believed to be a remake of “Serendipity”, is being produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik, under the banner of SK Films. SK Films insists that the stories floating around the film are baseless and untrue. “Though the film has been in the making for some time now, the delay has been due to certain unforeseen factors and not because of any hesitation

The first teasers of the film have already hit the television screens.

It seems Shahid Kapoor is too emotional at times. So much that he cannot decide on buying a new property just because he doesn’t want to part ways with his best pal Priyanka Chopra who is his neighbour too. According to latest reports, Shahid Kapoor wants to buy a bigger apartment but is delaying the move since he’s worried about parting ways with his best buddy Priyanka Chopra. So, purely for this reason, Shahid has put the plans of buying a new property on hold. Well, looks like Shahid’s friendship with Priyanka is actually stronger than what we thought. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ has a dream cast
E (L to R) Sendhil Chengalvarayan, president and editorial director, TV18, Arun Maira, member of India’s planning commission, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, and Raghav Bahl, founder editor of Network 18, display copies of Forbes India’s first anniversary special issue during it’s launch on May 20, 2010 in Mumbai, India.
Salman avoids Katrina ? Though Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have not parted ways in their personal life, but the two are not exactly sharing the same old chemistry which at one point of time was exemplary. Buzz is that Salman recently avoided meeting Katrina at a marriage ceremony giving rise to speculations about their relationship. In the recent past too there have been occasional rumours that all is not well between the two, but Katrina has denied such rumours flatly. So, what could explain the latest incident of Salman and Katrina avoiding each other in public then? Well, we are not saying anything, but it seems all is not surely well in Sallu-Kats paradise.
ven before it starts filming, a lot of buzz surrounds Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. It’s not only about Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif being part of the cast, but also because of the fact that the film is from the makers of Dil Chahta Hai and Rock On. The movie with an enviable ensemble of actors will be directed by Zoya Akhtar. As the crew and cast is all set to fly to Spain next month for this adventure flick, the cast gathered together for a photoshoot in Mumbai. So, there was Hrithik Roshan with Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol all into the fun mood for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. And rubbishing the rumours that the
film is a sequel to Dil Chahta Hai, Zoya clearly mentions this to daily that she is not interested in ‘copying’ anything. “We’ve set out to make a fun film that pertains to the youth and connects with the maximum number of people,” says Zoya about ZNMD. However, apart from all these names, the cast has another beauty and she is the Spanish TV actress Ariadna Cabrol. Ariadna Cabrol is a Spanish actress, who made her showbiz debut in 2000 in her native country. People might recognize her from the disturbing but spectacular film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, where she played the perfumer’s first victim. She has mainly done television serials in Spain like Super Charly, Lo Cartanya and Un Golpe De Suerte, among others, and a few American films like Eloise, Zone of The Dead, etc.

Is Anushka dating Ranveer? This gal hasn’t taken too kindly to her recent link-ups with her co-star of Shaadi Mubarak Ho, Ranveer Singh. In a combined interview session with Shahid Kapoor, the only thing that shook Anushka Sharma calm was rumours about her love life. “Don’t you guys ever hang out with your colleagues? Does that mean you are dating them?” came the vehement retort. In fact, even Shahid naughtily teased her, to which she replied, “C’mon Shahid, even you and I were linked, remember?” OMG... this gal is in some kind of mood, eh? Just chill, gal. And learn a thing or two about ‘link-up management’ from the Kapoor boy. Over to you, Shahid.
Anushka, the Wedding Planner Buzz is that Yash Raj Films’s Anushka Sharma-Ranvir Singh-starrer Shaadi Mubarak is a remake of the 2001 Hollywood film, The Wedding Planner. Eventually, she plans Dr Steve’s wedding with her biggest client (Bridgette Wilson) and what follows forms the crux of the plot. YRF’s spokesperson denied the news about Shaadi Mubarak being a remake of The Wedding Planner.

Malaika had created a stir with her Chaiyya Chaiyya number opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Dil Se’ in 1998 when Bollywood was just waking up to the concept of item girls. She will now jive on the tantalising title Munni Badnaam in the film, which is set against the backdrop of politics and crime in UP and Bihar, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha. “Yes, Malaika has appeared in this fun dance number which is going to be a highlight of Dabangg. Salman too would be making an appearance in the song though it is not clear whether he would be dancing along with Malaika or not,” a source said.

Something called duradai will take place instead of the usual mehndi.” Manya’s mother and brother Siddharth are overseeing the wedding preparations. Designers Sabyasachi Mukherji and Anna Singh will design the outfits for the prewedding ceremonies. The to-be bride will wear a red sari with diamondand-gold work on her big day. Samrat will wear traditional Nepali wear picked out by his USbased sister. The reception venue is yet to be decided, but sources claim that it will most likely be at a fivestar hotel in Juhu, Mumbai. A source adds, “Manisha, a recluse a few years back, has now come out of her shell. She has begun socialising with her old friends and has started making new ones.”

he last time Desigirls was being spoken about, it was more of an introduction to how the entry of the girls had been on the show. With so many women around, cat-fights were bound to happen. The first spark arose when host Rohit Roy announced Sambhavna and Kashmera as partners, but then it soon turned out that Rohit was kidding, much to the relief of both. However, the divisions went well and the girls seem to be happy with their respective partners. But then, Desigirls is not just about finding your compatible partners and getting your daily chores done. While Sambhavna was only too happy to have found Monica as a partner, this wasn’t going to deter her plans of being herself despite what the houselady Saroj Bala demanded of her. For instance, Sambhavna likes to get up late, and Saroj starts her day early. Catch all this drama and more, every Friday to Sunday, 9 pm on Imagine. I am saturated of serial sagas: Prachee Actress Prachee Shah talks about her favourite TV shows.. I took a short break during my pregnancy. Now, my daughter is one-and-a-half years old and she’s so active that she doesn’t allow me to watch much of television anyway. But everytime I can, I shuffle channels in a jiffy and try to catch up on what’s going on. I do not get time to read newspapers so I make it a point to tune in to the news channels. Once done with the dose of current news, I check the other channels but try to avoid soaps. I feel I have reached a saturation point with soap
sagas. So, I steer clear of that. There was a time, I was keen on watching Balika Vadhu but now that slot is taken away by music and dance shows. I truly enjoy little kids putting their best foot forward in shows such as Dance India Dance and Chak Dhoom Dhoom. I am a trained dancer in classical form and I’ve also learned jive and salsa. But everytime I see these little wonders dancing and singing, I really wish how such platforms would have helped people like me. Today’s generation is blessed as there’s so much help at hand.

The Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies forced India cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni to skip his graduation exams for the second consecutive year.
Dhoni missed the first semester exams and has not been able to clear his Part I exams either, said Prof Sinha. Dhoni has the option to clear all his papers in six semesters within a period of five years but till date he has not appeared for even a
single paper. After completing his schooling from DAV School nearly a decade ago, Dhoni had sought admission to the college in 2008 for his graduation under sports quota and was exempted from attending classes because of his cricketing commitments. Vice Chancellor of the Ranchi University Prof. AA Khan said St Xaviers College is an autonomous College of the University and conduct exams on its own.

y now, I’m sure you’re all aware that the long-awaited FIFA World Cup gets underway in a week. The stadiums are built, the new ball has been released by Adidas (naturally, the players can’t stand it) and football fanfare is sweeping the globe. Media outlets worldwide are clamouring for a piece of the action, but Vanity Fair’s insubstantial cover story reeks of opportunism, providing a superficial glance at soccer’s hottest stars. (I’m thinking Annie Leibovitz just wanted dudes with hot bods to take their pants off.) Too bad many of the players pictured will miss the tournament, a gaffe that’s got to have Conde Nast cursing their uber-long lead time. Last year also he did not appear in the exams as dates of the T20 World Cup in England clashed with it. “Yes it is true, that Indian skipper MS Dhoni did not take exams,” examination controller Prof. Ajit Kumar Sinha told PTI. India was ousted from the World Cup after losing all the Super Eights matches. Prof Sinha said that the examination of the fourth semester began on May 10 and will conclude on May 29 whereas the World Cup began on April 30 and concluded on May 16. The entire programme is of six semesters, spread over three years but Dhoni had hardly attended any class because of a busy cricket schedule.

India’s Rohan Bopanna (L) looks on as partner Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi plays a return during French Open 2010
Argentina, attacking midfielder: Rightfully billed as the best player in the world, Messi’s form is peaking at the right time. The diminutive winger will be spurred on by his egomaniac manager, Diego Maradona, who’s never had a problem with cheating to win.
2. Kaka, Brazil, midfielder: The centerpiece of the Real Madrid attack has always seemed to lack killer instinct, and he will face mountainous pressure from the impatient Brazilian faithful, who haven’t celebrated a World Cup triumph in (shock!) eight whole years. 3. Didier Drogba, Ivory Coast, striker: How badly does Chelsea’s fearsome scorer want to win the World Cup on African soil? Ivory Coast’s MVP has postponed a hernia operation until after the tournament, proving that Drogba won’t be acting when he’s rolling around the field in agony. 4. Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal, midfielder: The villainous Ronaldo has practically done it all at the age of 25: won the Champions League with Manchester United, been named FIFA World Player of the Year, and reportedly slept with Paris Hilton. But he’s never gotten the job done for his country. Two pressing questions remain: is this Portugal’s year? Will Paris be there to celebrate? 5. Wayne Rooney, England, striker: Here’s hoping Manchester United’s bulldog talisman will do his best to refrain from exiting South Africa the way he left Germany in 2006: stomping upon the opposition’s genitals in frustration. 6. Gianluigi Buffon, Italy, goalkeeper: The man who carried a low-scoring Azzurri side to the title in Germany will have to be even better if Italy plan to win it again. Their core players are all four years older and slightly over the hill, but Buffon’s magical display in 2006 proved that he’s more than up to the challenge. 7. Jozy Altidore, USA, striker: American soccer bosses are desperate for a breakout star to emerge at the World Cup, and no doubt they’re swooning over Altidore. He’s a marketer’s dream: just 20 years old, with an inspirational story, and a bit of seasoning in the English Premier League. Oh, and like all young North American sports stars, he’s addicted to Twitter. If all goes according to plan, Altidore will return to America a hero. Now if only the MLS could get him back in the fold… 8. Xavi Hernandez, Spain, midfielder: The Spaniards breezed stylishly through Euro 2008 and are the trendy pick to come out on top again in South Africa. But with so many of his teammates battling stubborn injuries, Xavi must be the playmaking engine that drives the Spanish offensive. 9. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Germany, midfielder: This guy doesn’t just have the best name at the World Cup, he’s got a girlfriend who posed in body paint for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. He’s also got big shoes to fill, stepping in to replace German captain Michael Ballack, who will miss the tournament due to injury.
Mahesh Bhupathi
10. Samuel Eto’o, Cameroon, striker: Eto’o is the best kind of goal-poaching striker, and he will be a joy to watch, provided he plays, that is. Some nasty comments from a former Cameroon great have prompted Eto’o to suggest he might walk out on his team. I think he’s bluffing. Look for Eto’o to lead the charge when Cameroon get their tournament underway.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has kept the India captaincy. That he’d stay at the helm, despite talk to the contrary in a section of the media, had been reported on May 15, days after India’s early exit from the World T20. Dhoni and a clutch of other seniors are back in the XV, for the June 15-25 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, but Sachin Tendulkar has been rested (at his request) and Yuvraj Singh dropped. Out, too, are the in-and-out categorywallahs Dinesh Karthik and Yusuf Pathan. “Sachin’s kids (Sara, Arjun) have their vacations now and he requested for some more time with the family. A long season, after all, is about to begin... Yuvraj has been omitted on grounds of form and, to an extent, fitness,” a well-placed source said on Monday.
The outcome of the course will be that students will have the required and necessary skills and knowledge to obtain future employment as a qualified Painter and Decorator. Students will learn to : Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry, Plan and organise work, Conduct workplace communication, Carry out measurements and calculations, Work safely at heights, Read and interpret plans and specifications, Calculate and cost construction work, Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry, Operate elevated work platforms, Erect and maintain trestle and plank systems, Handle painting and decorating materials, Use painting and decorating tools and equipment, Remove and replace doors and door and window components, Prepare surfaces for painting, Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding, Apply paint by brush and roller, Apply texture coat paint finishes by brush, roller and spray, Apply paint by spray, Match specified paint colour, Apply stains and clear timber finishes, Apply wallpaper, Apply decorative paint finishes, Apply lead paint and asbestos management, Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings, Apply protective paint coating systems, Apply advanced wallpaper techniques, and Apply trowelled texture coat finishes.

Aerobics is healthier than walking W
hen it comes to selecting the best exercise for fitness, aerobic exercise provides better health benefits than walking, according to a new study. In the study, University of Alberta researchers compared fitness training to a pedometerbased walking program, measuring the fitness and health outcomes of each. Programs were designed so participants would expend the same amount of energy in each regimen. The six-month study, published by exercise physiologist, Gordon Bell, in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, recruited 128 physically inactive men and women between 27 and 65 years of age with no known cardiovascular or other diseases. “Physically inactive” was defined by researchers as taking fewer than 5500 steps per day over a seven day period and not participating in
any form of regular exercise. Comparing fitness and walking groups, researchers found that after six months those in the supervised fitness program showed significantly greater reductions in their systolic blood pressure, rating of perceived exertion, the effort measured during submaximal exercise, ventilatory threshold this is the point at which respiratory changes occur and respiration begins to become increasingly difficult during progressive exercise, and peak VO2, a measurement of peak oxygen intake. At the start of the study, volunteers were randomized into the control group, the walking group or the exercise group and all were required to wear a pedometer for the duration of the study to ensure that they stayed within the prescribed number of steps. “We gradually built up the number of steps that the walking group did
Walking and fitness training groups saw a significant reduction in body mass, waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio after the six months as well as resting wheart rate.
until they were prescribed 10,000 steps per day to be completed every day of the week. They actually were able to complete 9221 steps per day or 92 per cent of the prescription,” says Bell, noting the high adherence rate of the walking group to the target number of steps. “There’s
s o m et hin g to be said about the these types of programs where people can use a simple device at home, collect their steps throughout the day, and with no travel and little planning involved. People seem quite willing to adhere to that type of exercise when it can be done on their own time.” Participants in the fitness program had a more intense
regimen. “Volunteers had to adhere to the intensity of exercise as measured by a heart-rate monitor, and to frequency, or number of times per week which as four times a week by the end of the study.” Adherence based on frequency was 77 per cent in this group. Bell says this is close to what some researchers suggest as a successful adherence rate to this type of exercise program.
All participants saw benefits: Walking and fitness training groups saw a significant reduction in body mass, waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio after the six months as well as resting heart rate. Surprisingly, the control group saw changes too and Bell says it’s possible they were motivated to be more physically active after undergoing the health assessment at the start of the study, and having a pedometer, which may have made them more aware of how much or little they were physically active.
‘Mint’ing
the benefits!
Mint is much more than just a refreshing garden herb. We tell you why...
Mint is as healthy as it is tasty. It is one handy herb when it comes to home remedies. Most of us are familiar with only the refreshing part of it, but it has much more to offer than just that. Here are some benefits... June 2010 Edition
Digestion: Mint is a good appetiser and promotes digestion. It also soothes the stomach in cases of inflammation. The aroma of mint activates the saliva glands as well as glands, which secrete digestive enzymes, thereby facilitating digestion.
congestion of nose, throat, bronchi and lungs, giving relief from respiratory disorders. It also gives relief from cough.
Asthma: Regular use of mint is very beneficial for asthma patients, as it is a good relaxant and gives relief from congestion.
Nausea & headache: Skin care: The refreshing aroma of mint is a quick remedy for nausea. Smell the oil of mint or crushed fresh mint leaves to feel better. Mint balms and mint oil, when rubbed on the forehead give quick relief from headaches.
Mint juice is an excellent skin cleanser. It soothes the skin, cures infections, itching and is also good for treating pimples. It can also be used for treating bites of insects like mosquitoes.
Respiratory disorders:
Female sterility:
The strong aroma of mint is very effective in opening up
Now, there is a mixed opinion about this. Some say that prolonged use of menthol may cause sterility and induce inability
to conceive. It is also heard that men who smoke menthol cigarettes are more likely to suffer from impotency than those who smoke normal cigarettes. It is not certain whether it is due the tobacco alone or mint has anything do with it. While another group suggests that mint may be used to treat sterility in females.
Oral care: This is a well-known property of mint. Being a germicidal and breath freshener, it takes care of oral health by inhibiting harmful bacterial growth in the mouth.
Cancer: Current researches show that certain enzymes present in mint may help cure cancer.
It is directly related to optimal hormonal functioning of the body. The mood swings in women can be directly related to Folic acid deficiency. The immune system booster Vitamin C is also present. The best possible method to relish this herb is cut the leaves in minute portions and garnishes the meals. www.indian-times.com.au

RECURRENT TONSILLITIS
Dr. Raj Kothuru
Homeopathic Help
T
he tonsils are lymph nodes in the back of the mouth and top of the throat, at the base of the mouth at the junction of opening of pharynx and oesophagus to be precise.
tonsillitis can either be bacterial or viral in origin. Sub acute tonsillitis (which can last between 3 weeks and 3 months) is a result of bacteria. Chronic tonsillitis, which can last for long periods if not treated, is almost always bacterial. SYMPTOMS OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS:
They are a part of our immune system. They make antibodies and white blood cells (lymphocytes) to attack germs inside the mouth. They help to filter out bacteria and other micro organisms to prevent infection in the body. Tonsils along with Adenoids serve to fight and collect microorganisms from entering in the chest through the throat. This makes the tonsils part of the first line of defence against bacteria in food or air.
Repeated attack of cold and cold say every 10-15 days accompanied with high fever, pain in throat sometimes extending to the ear, unpleasant smell and taste in the mouth, hoarseness, snoring and breathing through the mouth, deafness, white or yellow spots of pus on the tonsils, sore throat (some children complain of pain in their tummy, rather than a sore throat), swollen lymph glands under each side of the jaw.
Sometimes, they may become so overwhelmed by bacterial or viral infection that they swell and become inflamed, causing tonsillitis.
SYMPTOMS OF CHRONIC TONSILLITIS:
Frequent attacks of Tonsillitis suggest low immunity, whereby the tonsils are getting inflamed as a part of defense mechanism. They do not need to be removed.
Recurrent cough. Increased susceptibility to other respiratory infections eg. Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Bronchial Asthma etc. poor health, poor growth, lack of vigor, temperament issues like tantrums, bouts of crying for no reason, difficulty in speech and swallowing, enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Secondary infections – In severe cases the infection can spread to the nose, sinuses or ears.
There are 3 main types of tonsillitis: acute, sub acute and chronic. Acute
SURGERY - IS IT REALLY A WISE CHOICE?
Tonsillitis can develop in people of all ages. Tonsillitis is extremely common, particularly in children.
Please do not take a hurried step to get your child’s tonsils removed without checking homeopathic treatment as this simply means that your child’s first point of defense is being removed forever. Experience shows that such a drastic measure increases the susceptibility and the allergic patients suffer from allergy all the more especially in diseases like Sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis and Bronchial Asthma. HOMEOPATHY SHOULD NOT BE THE LAST OPTION: There is an excellent treatment in Homeopathy which can significantly help frequent Tonsillitis and the tonsils can be saved. Inflamed tonsils or recurrent tonsillitis is the result of low immunity and not the cause of it. Homeopathic treatment is essentially targeted towards enhancing the immunity and hence reducing the recurrence of tonsil infections. This is achieved very easily using safe and effective homeopathic medicines. Homeopathic high success in cases of Tonsillitis is extremely popular. Homeopathy, as you all know works effectively on children and reduces attacks, coverts enlarged unhealthy tonsils to healthy ones, avoids surgical removal of Tonsils in most cases, reduces severity of attacks of Tonsillitis and other related ailments like Sore throat, frequent coughing,
red watery eyes, stuffy, running nose, frequent colds, ear infections, sinusitis, hot head, sneezing, allergies, asthma, pharyngitis, fevers, aches, fatigue, glue ear, Quincy etc. It greatly increases the child’s immunity to prevent repeated infections of many kinds, increases appetite and reduces the need for antibiotics. FOOD: Cold foods, cold drinks, sour foods, ice cream, vinegar, fried foods, bananas, milk & milk based foods must be avoided during episode of tonsillitis. Your Homeopath will tell you all the precautions required. In general, it is important that our children minimise junk and processed food. They need very healthy food, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and get plenty of open air and active lifestyles on a daily basis. This not only gives them
a wonderful immune system but also helps them to grow up as healthy adults mentally and physically. After all, what we get out is what we put in. You may ask your personal query to Raj Kothuru (Homeopath) via email drraj@aurahealth.com.au or by phone 0425 761 826 / (03) 9077 5044 regarding your health problems. You will be offered authentic information and an opinion as to what best can be done pertaining to your ailment.

Army orders probe into
‘fake encounter’ NEW DELHI: With the name of at least one Army officer figuring in the alleged fake encounter in which three persons were killed in the Machil sector of Jammu
Kashmiri villagers shout slogans during a protest in Nadihal
and Kashmir on April 30, defence minister A K Antony on Saturday said strict action will be taken against anybody found guilty in the case. “The J&K government has already ordered an inquiry into the case. We will fully cooperate in the probe. There is no question of cover up. Whoever is guilty will be punished...nobody will be spared,’’ said Antony, speaking on the sidelines of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) here. The Army, on its part, said it
“was already fully cooperating’’ with the police in the investigation. “We have a zero-tolerance for human rights violations, as the Army chief General V K Singh himself has declared,’’ said a senior officer. While this may be true, it’s also a fact that the Army prefers to deal with its errant personnel under its “own internal mechanisms’’, rather than handing them over to civilian authorities. For instance, there were a total of 179 “complaints’’ of human rights abuse against armed forces personnel in 2007-2009. While the majority of them were found motivated or fake, there were still 23 requests for permission to launch prosecution against soldiers in those three years. The defence ministry, however, did not give permission in any of the cases. “We cannot allow soldiers battling terrorists in J&K to get no legal protection and be left to civilian courts in the event of something going wrong. It will hit troop morale,’’ said an officer. The Army feels it is to be used for counter-terrorism operations in J&K, which cannot be equated with normal law and order duties, then its soldiers need “adequate protection’’ against being dragged to courts.
Members of the Bharatiya Janta Party students wing shout anti-Maoist rebels and anti-goverment slogans as a woman holda a placard reading ‘I have found a cause to live : to fight TERRORISM’ during a protest in Mumbai on May 30, 2010. Rescue workers completed search operations on May 30 after pulling out 146 bodies from the site of a train wreck in northeast India blamed on Maoist rebels. If confirmed as a Maoist strike, the May 28 derailment of a Kolkata-Mumbai express train would be the deadliest attack by the rebels in recent memory. The government has recently been severely criticised for its handling of the worsening left-wing insurgency.
Uneasy tie-up with BJP leads to Soren’s resignation
S
hibu Soren, who resigned tonight a day ahead of a floor test, had begun his third term as Jharkhand Chief Minister on a shaky note with questions being raised about the longevity of his uneasy tie-up with
BJP which finally culminated into his stepping down from office. An isolated Soren put in his papers after failing to get the support of Congress and its ally JVM(P) ahead of trust vote in the assembly.
With the odds stacked against him, Soren, who has been holding on to his post after reneging on a power-sharing deal with the BJP, made overtures to the Congress which was not forthcoming.

T
he new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) announced by the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans on 17th May 2010 will greatly limit the occupations international students can study in, to maintain the education to skilled migration pathway that has been existing for over a decade now. This article is dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Onshore Students who are now in limbo, and desperately seeking accurate advice and proper guidance. Since the new SOL has been announced, we have been getting numerous queries from hundreds of current students as to what options they have left to gain Permanent Residence in Australia. After talking to many of them it seems that they are still confused about the changes and transitional arrangements announced on 8th February 2010, as well as the ones announced on 17th May 2010. Not to mention, some are still being given wrong information by some Education Agents, Migration Agents, University

How the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) will affect students currently studying in Australia? and College Staff and Faculty, friends and relatives. Since every decision a student makes in these difficult times, may waste their time and money, or even permanently ruin their chance for Permanent Residence, I’ll attempt to clear some of these confusions.
have been removed from the list. What this means is that any student applying for Permanent Residence from 1st July 2010, must have their occupation listed in the new SOL, unless they are covered by the transitional arrangements announced on 8th February 2010.
The new Skilled Occupation List (SOL)
Transitional arrangements announced on 8th February 2010
Some students are thinking the new SOL announced on 17th May 2010 by the Minister of Immigration is not the “Final List” because of the use of words like “intended”, “proposed” and “recommended.” This is the “Final List” of Occupations that will come into effect on 1st July 2010, and likely to become law after the Governor-General gives the Royal Assent. The new SOL is a much smaller list with only 181 occupations. Popular courses studied by a majority of the students to gain their Permanent Residence, like Cook, Pastry Cook, Baker, Graphic Pre-Press Tradesperson, Welfare Worker and Hairdressing
There seems to be a lot of confusion on what the transitional arrangements are for students who held a student visa (Subclass 572, 573 or 574) on 8th February 2010. Some students think that if they held a student visa on 8th February 2010, they can still apply for Permanent Residence using the old SOL until 31st December 2012. This is definitely not the case!! Only anyone who has already applied for or has been granted a Subclass 485 visa by 7th February 2010, can apply for Permanent Residence using the old SOL until 31st December 2012. But the rest of the students who held a Subclass 572, 573 or 574 visa on 8th February 2010 can only apply
for a Subclass 485 Skilled Graduate Visa using the old SOL, until 31st December 2012. But when applying for Permanent Residence under the Skilled Migration program, the new SOL will apply to these students. Which means, the pathway to Permanent Residence for these students based on their current courses is slim to none. Because their occupation is no longer in the new SOL. The Minister of Immigration mentioned the ENS (Employer Nomination Scheme) pathway for these students. But to meet the ENS criteria one needs 3 years of Full Time experience which is impossible for a student to get in Australia, even if they are granted the Subclass 485 visa. When the MODL List existed, the 3 year Full Time experience requirement was waived. Now, with no MODL most students will not be able to meet the ENS criteria. Skills Australia and State Migration Plans We had a meeting with the Head of Secretariat of Skills Australia
Syed M. Kabir BEEE (Hons)(USA) MMIA MACS MIE Aust Principal Migration Consultant MARN 0636144, MIA #2446 Sue Beitz, last Tuesday. We were told that the new SOL is not a Skills Shortage List. Rather it is a list that looks at Australia’s Skills needs in the long term. That’s why occupations like Pharmacists and Primary School Teachers are not on the list. Because according to Sue,
www.indian-times.com.au
News
indiantimes the demand for these occupations will be met by local graduates and employees over the next few years. The other thing we were surprised to find out is that Skills Australia did not consult with the States when compiling the new SOL. This means the States’ Skills needs will not be completely met by the new SOL. States and Territories therefore will need to come up with their own list of occupations and compile their own State Migration Plans, and get it approved by the Minister of Immigration. The good news (if any) for current students is, if their occupation is in the State Migration Plan they can still apply for their Permanent Residence even if their occupation is not in the new SOL, as long as they meet the States’ Sponsorship criteria. Students should keep in mind that the States’ may require additional experience and English requirements before they approve the Sponsorships. Also, we still don’t know what occupations will be in the State Migration Plans. These will be announced over the next several months.
Option left for current Onshore Students If your occupation is not in the new SOL and you have not been granted or applied for a Subclass 485 Skilled Graduate Visa by 7th February 2010, you have the following options: 1. Check with an experienced Migration Consultant if you qualify to apply for a Subclass 885, 886 or 487 visa by 30th June 2010 to make use of the old SOL. 2. If you cannot apply for a Subclass 885, 886 or 487 visa by 30th June 2010, find out what
courses you can do that are in the new SOL, that may give you a chance to apply for Permanent Residence in the future. It is important to note that some students doing trade courses are applying for the Subclass 485 Skilled Graduate Visa without knowing the consequences of doing so. The new TRA Job Ready Program requires students to gain 1 year full time paid experience while on a Subclass 485 visa. Also, a student can only apply for a Subclass 485 visa once in their lifetime. So, if the current students apply and waste their Subclass 485 visa, they will never in the future be able to meet the TRA requirement and apply for Skilled Migration, even if they decide to do a new trade course in the future. Skills Assessments and IELTS Requirements The IELTS requirement for Accountants is now 7 each in IELTS Academic. IELTS General will not be accepted for Accountants. Please note that the Department of Immigration will accept both IELTS Academic and General. Also, those onshore students currently considering doing a Bachelor Degree course for the Social Worker occupation in the new SOL may get some transfer credits if they did a Diploma in Community Welfare, but they’ll need 7 each in IELTS Academic to get a positive Skills Assessment for Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). They will also need to do an AASW approved course. IT graduates are still on the new SOL as confirmed to us in writing by ACS, but because ASCO and ANZSCO codes are different some confusion has been created. These confusions
will be cleared out when the new SOL will be formally released by the Department of Immigration on 1st July 2010. Students must carefully consider if they can meet the IELTS requirement of the assessing body before changing course and wasting more money. ASCO, ANZSCO and Points Test All occupations currently have an ASCO Code associated to it. This will be changed to ANZSCO from 1st July 2010. There are some significant changes in requirements from ASCO to ANZSCO, so students will need to clearly understand them before trying to meet the criteria of for their Skills Assessments and the Department of Immigration’s Education and Experience requirements. A new Points Test will also be announced in the near future that may again reshape the entire Skilled Migration program. Processing Times Currently Subclass 485 Skilled Graduate visas are being granted a lot faster and the Department of immigration is trying to clear its Subclass 485 backlog. Occupations in the Critical List are taking around 4 to 6 months to grant instead of a few weeks as was the case earlier. Other Skilled Migration applications are unlikely to get a Case Officer before 2012. More changes are to come. Students should not just discuss with friends and rely on wrong information. They should immediately seek detailed and correct information to assess their situation and select the best possible option, from an experienced and reputed Migration Consultant.

Attempt on life of Ravishankar BANGALORE: An unidentified gunman made an attempt on the life of Sri Sri Ravishankar, Art of Living founder, on the premises of his ashram here on 30 May, Sunday evening. The assailant missed the target and injured one Vinay, who was standing near the Guruji, police said. He was injured on the thigh. The incident occurred after the culmination of a mega Satsang on the Art of Living campus on Kanakapura Road, in which about 8,000 people participated. Police said the Guruji was safe. Police suspect the miscreant used a .22 revolver. However, neither the weapon nor the assailant was traced until midnight. Karnataka Home Minister V.S. Acharya told reporters that security at the ashram had been tightened and Inspector-General (Central range) Kamal Pant had been asked to rush to the spot. The Minister, however, denied that anyone was injured in the incident. The Talaghattapura police have closed all the gates of the ashram complex and are frisking and screening all visitors.
After the incident, the 54year-old Guruji said: “I am absolutely safe.” Ashram spokesperson Charu told PTI that the incident took place around 6.15 p.m. She said the Guruji was undeterred by the incident and returned at 7 p.m. to address his followers.

Ram Gopal Varma, who is going to start a 3D action-adventure film Raksha with John Abraham, has slammed reports that the actor has been asked to lean up for his role in the same. “That’s not true. It’s all in a very nascent stage as of now and we haven’t yet finished the script yet. John is leaning up and all for the movie (mocking)... I don’t know even where do such rumours come from,” Varma told. Varma plans to roll on the movie by year-end.
After growing a beard and mouche for the movie Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year, actor Ranbir Kapoor is now experimenting with his appearance again to see how he will look with a long mane. Wild and hot, we guess! But that’s not the personal style of the star who is happy sporting trendy crew cut. Ranbir is doing all this for the role of a rockstar that he plays in Imitiaz Ali’s next film Rockstar. As per reports, Ranbir who gets to play the lead singer of a rock band will be sporting shoulderlength hair in the film. However, it wasn’t easy to finalize that look for the star. If Imitaz wanted to see Ranbir in long hair, the star wanted to sport a cropped hair-do. But finally, they settled on the long-haired look after trying several hair styles.
Arshad is sleep deprived What’s giving Arshad Warsi sleepless nights? Says a source, “Arshad’s been taking the 6 am flight to Mumbai and shooting for ZNKD till 5 am, and then taking the 6 am flight back to Goa and shooting for Golmaal 3.” But, the actor feels that by the end of the day ,it gives him a sense of self satisfaction.

President urges China to improve market access P
resident Pratibha Patil on Sunday called on China to do more to improve market access for Indian pharmaceutical and engineering companies, amid growing concerns over a trade imbalance that grew to a record $16 billion in China’s favour last year.
Officials in Shanghai, China’s booming commercial capital, assured the President in talks on Sunday they would encourage more Chinese companies to step up investments in India to address the imbalance, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said. Almost 35 per cent of India’s trade with China comes from Shanghai and the south-eastern Pearl River Delta region, the heartland of China’s manufacturing industry. In talks with the ruling Communist Party’s Shanghai chief Yu Zhengsheng, Ms. Patil sent a strong message to the Chinese government that unless market access for Indian pharmaceutical, engineering and Information Technology companies improved, trade relations, recently under strain, would continue to worsen. “The political message that we
are sending to the Chinese side is, please pay attention to [the trade imbalance and market access issues],” Ms. Rao said. “This is important. If you want to address the adverse trade balance, you will need to tackle these issues.” Chinese officials, for their part, acknowledged “it would be unviable to sustain such a trade imbalance in the medium-term and long-term,” Ms. Rao said. The trade relationship between the two countries has, in recent years, been seen by officials in both countries as a crucial driver of overall bilateral relations, amid persisting political strains over the long-running border dispute. China became India’s largest trading partner in 2008, with bilateral trade reaching $52 billion. Trade fell to $43 billion on account of the financial crisis, but has rebounded in the first two months of this year with Indian exports, mainly driven by iron ore, rising 75 per cent. Trade relations had, however, come under increasing strain in the past year with India’s trade deficit continuing to rapidly widen. India last year filed a record number of anti-dumping investigations
President Pratibha Patil, flanked by Chinese officials, after unveiling the statue of Rabindranath Tagore at Mao Ming Road in Shanghai, China against China at the World Trade Organisation, while India’s efforts to diversify the trade basket, officials say, have stalled over long-pending market access issues and high import tariffs. India’s recent restrictions on the import of Chinese telecom equipment, in light of security concerns, have added to the list of strains. The telecom issue, however, was not raised by China during the President’s ongoing visit,
Ms. Rao said. During her Shanghai visit, the President visited the Indian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, the biggest and most expensive fair in history. Ms. Patil on Sunday also unveiled a statue of Rabindranath Tagore in the heart of old-town Shanghai, which the poet visited in the 1920s and left a strong influence on a whole generation of Chinese intellectuals and writers.
Bangladesh blocks Facebook For publishing cartoons which “hurt religious sentiments of its Muslim population”
B
angladesh has blocked social networking website Facebook over caricatures of Prophet Mohammed and “obnoxious” images of the Muslimmajority country’s leaders, an official said on Sunday, 30 May. The move came after Pakistan banned access to Facebook, video website YouTube and 1,200 web pages over a row about “blasphemous” content on the Internet. Facebook was blocked in Bangladesh late on Saturday, the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said. The move was ordered as cartoons of the Mohammed on the popular website “hurt the religious sentiments of the country’s Muslim population,” said BTRC acting chairman Hasan Mahmud Delwar. “Some links in the website also contained obnoxious images of our leaders, including the father of the nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and the leader of the Opposition.” He said Facebook would be re-opened once Bangladesh had permanently blocked the offending pages.

Secrets to a
sensual massage L
avanya Vasant heads home after a hard day's work hoping to treat herself with a round of kinky sex with her boyfriend. But a tough day at work means he is too tired to want any. "How do I get him in the mood?" she asks. Here's your answer Lavanya with a sensual massage! "Giving your partner a massage is as intimate as it gets." It's all about connecting with each other in a cosy environment," says Niharika Sharma who owns a spa. She tells you the right way to give your partner a sensual massage:
Slow and steady
"You don't want to start off by pounding those muscles. Go easy on your partner. Allow him to get familiar with your hand movements," says Sharma. Your strokes should be firm, deep and continuous. Avoid quick and sudden movements. Massage his

muscles, not his skin, adds Sharma. Always, always use a lubricant lavender oil is a good relaxant.
The right strokes
After the warm up, you can gradually increase the pressure of your hands. "Work on large muscle groups using firm, even pressure at all times. Concentrate on the neck, back, shoulders and legs," says Sneha Vaidya, a massage therapist. Apply pressure along the neck and entire spine. The arch of the back - where the back curves towards the buttocks - is a good spot. Move to the back of his thighs and calves to make him siiiigh!
Cooling down
Towards the end of the massage, you will need to slow down again. Gradually decrease
the pressure on your strokes. Then wipe his entire body down with a soft towel to remove traces of oil. Mood for thought "Getting the ambience right is half the battle won," says Vaidya. "Lighting is the key - the dimmer the better!" she adds. Do not use petroleum jelly or other lubricants that are not easily absorbed by the skin. Besides this, some soft music should set the mood for more fun later! Be warned: this technique has one side effect. You could do such a good job of relaxing him that he simply falls asleep!

Must haves for a massage Aromatherapy oil : Effective passion oils like Rose otto, Jasmine or Neroli will complete the experience for him. Body butter - Slather some aromatic body butter generously as you glide your hands over him. It will not only soothe his skin but his nerves too! Chocolate sauce : To make things a little more exciting, how about some chocolate sauce? You might just get him in the mood long before your massage ends and enjoy better sex than you imagined.
e tend to associate good sex with heat. We use terms like hot, steamy, scorching, searing when describing memorable sex. On the other hand cold showers, cold shoulders, and cold hearts generally aren’t associated with lustful pursuits. Here are some hot and cold tips to spin your world on its head! Bring something cold and hot to bed. That bag of frozen peas may not be ready to be cooked rightaway, but wrap it in a t-shirt and bring it into bed tonight. Ice-cubes are always there. Dip them in chocolate or strawberry syrup and enjoy licking it off your partner. You don’t want to use the cold to shock your lover. Be sure to wait until things have hit a rhythm in the sex, and then gently touch a less sensitive part of your partner’s body with the cold. Once they know what’s coming, you can experiment heating things up with your bodies, and then cooling it down with a more sensitively placed cold touch. To heat things up, you can explore everything from silicone toys and glass toys (both of which retain heat and warm up nicely if you soak them in hot water before using). As always, have fun!

ouTube has come to define the era of online video, so let’s take a look at their most popular videos of all time. We first did this list in August 2007, at which point Evolution of Dance by comedian Judson Laipply was number 1 with nearly 56 million views. The next update was September 2008, when Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend pop music video was number 1 with 103 million page views (although commenters argued that it may have gamed the system). In January 2010, Charlie bit my finger - again ! was number 1, with 148 million views. Our latest update shows that Lady Gaga has made a big impact in 2010 on YouTube, with 2 new entries into the top 10 - including the number 1 video of all time! Perhaps a sign of the times that she shunted Susan Boyle out of the top 10. Also, for the first time, all 10 videos in this list have over 100 million views. Here is the top 10, as at April 2010:

iPad Alternative, “iPed” Released in China, Runs... Android?
P
rice of the iPad got you down? Not impressed by the feature loadout for Apple’s big tablet device? Well, if you’re travelling abroad anytime soon, you’re in luck. The iPed has just been released in Shenzhen, China and it’s only going to set you back a cool $150 or so--quite a discount compared to Apple’s asking price of $500 for its lowest model of iPads. So, what exactly is the iPed? Well, for starters, it’s not a counterfeit knock-off of Apple’s iPad per se. Though it might look fairly identical on the outside as evidenced by the video below, the iPed is actually a wee bit heavier than Apple’s 1.5-1.6

pound device, reports Ozcarguide.com. The device only supports up to 16 gigabytes of micro-SD-based space for storing data. However, it allegedly runs on 1 gigabyte of RAM--a wide difference on both ends from the potential 64 gigabytes of space and alleged 256 megabytes of RAM inside of Apple’s iPad. But the biggest game-changers are yet to come. The iPed doesn’t run any version of Apple’s proprietary operating system whatsoever. Though it looks and feels like an iPad, the product actually runs version 1.5 of the Android operating system (codenamed Cupcake). As well, reports Chinagrabber, the iPed
sports a 600-MHz RockChip processor (which runs contrary to reports that the iPed is touting some kind of mobile Intel processor) and a screen resolution of only 800 by 480 pixels. Again, for comparison’s sake, the Apple iPad’s 1-GHz Apple A4 processor powers the functionality displayed across its 1024-by768-pixel screen. That said, the iPad’s 9.7-inch display is a bit bigger than the iPed’s seven-inch screen. There’s no indication that the iPed supports any kind of networking functionality beyond
simple WiFi--Wireless B and Wireless G support only, at that. It’s doubtful that Orphan Electronics, the iPed’s creator, will be releasing differing versions of the iPed a la Apple’s product strategy.
NEW DELHI: Within days of revoking a non-compete agreement that his group had with his younger brother Anil, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani is believed to have held a long-drawn-out discussion with telecom czar Sunil Mittal. The meeting took place on the day Mukesh Ambani arrived in Delhi on May 26 to attend the Prime Minister’s Council on Trade and Industry meeting. A Reliance Industries spokesperson declined to comment either on the meeting or the discussions held, but a source said CII President Hari S Bhartia was also present. The two Ambanis on May 23 decided to scrap a noncompete agreement reached by them in January 2006. But, they decided that Mukesh will keep out of gas-based power plants till 2022. They had also announced that day that they would expeditiously negotiate a gas supply agreement in accordance with the Supreme Court order of May 7. There is speculation that Mukesh Ambani could venture into the telecom sector soon and sources indicated that he could pick up stake in one of the Indian telecom players, particularly those who acquired licences in 2008.

bollywood music Radio Mirchi joins hands with Agnee to launch first radio reality show

merican composer Wayne Sharp is not new to Bollywood. After composing for Prakash Jha’s “Gangaajal” and “Apharan”, the music director collaborates with Jha once again for “Raajneeti”. The music is impressive, especially the semiclassical track “Mora piya”. The film that stars actors like Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal among others has five originals and three remixes. The album opens with “Bheegi si bhaagi si”, which has a pleasing, melodious prelude. Crooned by Antara Mitra and Mohit Chauhan, the love song is foot-tapping and engages the listener. Mohit’s voice is apt for a song of this genre. Next in line is the semi-classical “Mora piya”, which is undoubtedly the best song of the soundtrack. It is nice to hear a song like this, particularly when numbers with a classical touch have become a rare sight in Bollywood films nowadays. The track has been effectively sung by Aadesh
Shrivastava, Shashi and Rosalie Nicholson. “Mora piya” has two more versions - the “Twilight Mix” and the “Trance Mix”, the latter sung by Kavita Seth. Then there is “Ishq barse” with Pronob Biswas, Hamsika Iyer and Swanand Kirkire behind the mike. This song has a folk and rustic touch with influences of classical music too in some parts. After a few minutes, the song picks up pace and becomes lively. While itsn’t a bad track, it isn’t brilliant either. The song also has a remix version, which is average. Finally there are two versions of a song
called “Dhan dhan dharti” - one sung by Shankar Mahadevan and the other by Sonu Niigaam. The patriotic song has musical influences of Vande Mataram and both the versions are quite similar except for the diverse singing styles of the two singers. The song with Indo-Western touches is likley to make a mark too.
On the whole, the soundtrack of “Raajneeti” is a mixed bag with some brilliant compositions and some average numbers.

Salim-Sulaiman to compose FIFA World Cup anthem India has reached the global stage and we are being recognised for not just the land we come from but also for the music we make. In a feat that no Indian has achieved before, the music composer duo Salim- Sulaiman were invited to compose the anthem for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. If that wasn’t enough, the duo will also open and close the football tournament in South Africa that commences on June 11 and goes on till July 11. Adding to the plurastic sound, R&B artist Loyiso Vincent Bala, who is Nelson Mandela’s favourite artist, and Kenyan singer Eric Waninaner will perform alongside the brothers. In the past, Salim-Sulaiman had composed the popular track ‘Chak De! India’ which had almost become like an anthem while the T20 matches were on. The two composers seemed visibly ecstatic with the honour to compose anthem for FIFA.
Rahman invited by Aussie high commissioner music but will also be playing tabla and sing on the album. He will be partnered by water sisters and US pop singer Terry Young. The singer has also been doing some international work other than this international album. Hope Bapida finds success in achieving the ultimate objective behind making of world peace album and it comes out has a great hit..!!
Indian music composer, A R Rahman is in high demand now. Rahman, who gained world recognition for the music he gave in the movie Slumdog Millionaire and for which he consequently also won an Oscar, is currently busy working on his tour ‘Jai Ho! The Journey Home World Tour’. Seems like the musical genius of this country, has now, earned an Australian admirer. Peter Varghese, who is the Australian High Commissioner to India, has extended an invitation to Rahman to come and work in Australia. The intent behind this is to strengthen the ties between the two countries by having famous Australian directors work with India’s ace. On Monday, May 24, Varghese spoke at the preview of Australian Film Festival 2010 in Chennai. He expressed Australia’s wish to strengthen its bond with India and its film industry. He said that the Film Festival is a way of doing so.

Salman Khan hogs limelight at Dubai celebrity event
T
he crowd was divided in two halves. But unlike any other India versus Pakistan cricket match, the frenzy at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday night was more for an individual rather than the individual nations. To say Salman Khan was a crowd favourite would be an understatement. Women – stretching to get a glimpse of the star – had to be escorted down from the first and second floors, for fear they would fall off from the railings. One fan even considered divorcing her husband of eight years to be with the star. “I love Salman Khan… I was probably one of the first to buy the tickets for the game. I just need to meet him once to convince him that I am the one he needs to get married too,” Riah John, a 32year-old homemaker and Dubai resident, said. Forty celebrities, from Indian and Pakistan, including renowned cricket personality Shoaib Akhtar, had flown in to be part of the Celebrity Cup 2010 on Thursday and a fashion show held last night - a two–day event which organisers claim took over two years to materialise. Khan had admitted during a press conference earlier on Thursday that the Indian team might face issues – on returning home – for agreeing to play against political rivals, Pakistan. However, the thousands of Indian and Pakistani fans, from all over the emirates, had clearly packed away their differences for the night. “I am here to just enjoy the show. It doesn’t really matter who wins or loses,” Anand Ravi, a call centre executive and resident of Sharjah said. Gulf News also spotted Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malek, who said they were rooting for team India. They declined to comment further.

However, he decided not to play and instead asked brother Sohail Khan to take over as captain. Pakistan celebrities launched the innings with Saud and Saleem Shaikh as their opening batsmen. Saud hit a six in the first over, bowled by Indian actor Aftaab Shivdasani, but was clean bowled on the very next ball. However, the highlight of the over was when actor Suniel Shetty sustained an injury after a ball hit him on the right foot. Fellow actors Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftaab Shivadasani and Javed Jaffery rushed to Shetty’s side and a few minutes of attention and ice packs later, the actor was back on his feet and entertained the crowd

he FIFA World Cup 2010 to take place in South Africa between June 11 and July 11 is the biggest event in the world sporting calendar. And all eyes are on it. Bollywood music composers Salim-Sulaiman will be composing a song and performing live at the opening and closing ceremonies of the gigantic sporting event with South African singers Loyiso Bala and Eric Wainaina. However, the coup actually is the news that Bollywood’s reigning diva Kareena Kapoor is in talks with the FIFA event managers. Insiders say that Bebo, who has a very tight work schedule, is actually taking time off for a music video for the FIFA event alongside Hollywood hottie Matt Damon. It is indicated that the action around this music video is big, with the budget surpassing anything that Bollywood has ever seen or done before. And besides apni Bebo, other Hollywood superstars who will participate in the video are Kevin Spacey and Jessica Alba.

A UP woman pleas for criminal case against Big B woman village-head in Uttar Pradesh Saturday sought a local court’s intervention to get a criminal case registered against Amitabh Bachchan in Barabanki district, where the megastar has bought land to build a women’s college. Complainant Raj Kumari is the ‘gram pradhan’ (village head) of Daulatpur village, where the mega star had acquired five bighas of land to build a college in the name of his star daughterin-law Aishwarya Rai. In an application moved before the court of chief judicial magistrate, Barabanki, Raj Kumari has accused Bachchan of “playing fraud” on the people of the village by not keeping his word of building a women’s college. She has further charged Bachchan of threatening her with dire consequences when she approached him to honour his commitment to the local population. The court has fixed May 31 for hearing the case. Earlier, Bachchan has faced charges of acquiring 2.5 bighas of agricultural land owned by the local ‘gram sabha’ allotted in his name through “fraudulent means”. Subsequently, he purchased three bighas of private land. Together with his close friend, former Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, he travelled all the way to Daulatpur village in 2006 along with his wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya.
And amidst much fanfare, he declared that the college would be named after Aishwarya. However, there was no activity on the plot in all these years, following which the village head moved the court.
