Now the summer is coming and the cities are plenty of amazing art’s shows, some of them: ephemeral architecture. Today we are going to discover some of the most amazing ephemeral architectures around the world. FLORK by SO-IL

This amazing pavilion reflects a purple colour, thanks to the cover material. This pavilion has been installed on Beijing and was made by the New York Architecture Studio So-IL (Solid Objetives – Idenburg Liu). It was made for The Arts festival Get in Louder. It was constructed in four days. After the festival, the pavilion was dismantled and transported to Shanghai for the second phase of the festival. This pavilion serves as a central hub for the event and houses many of the festival’s activities.


It is covered by thousands of tinted mirrored panels. The skin reflects its surroundings and makes the changing contexts of its temporary and mobile installation. The top of each piece is attached to the main structure, which allows a movement of each piece with the breeze.

The structure are 56 thin, flexible, steel rods and 2 rings. This structure makes easier the demounted and reinstalled to use it for further festivals.
