The project takes place in the historic location of Fort Burgoyne. The site, which is located alongside an Officers Mess within barracks and the globally renowned Dover Castle a good walk to the east, was once used as a military fort to protect Dover Castle and the United Kingdom from attacks during world wars.
The site, which is perched on top of massive cliff, offers views of Dover to the south and the English Channel to the east. The proposals tries to design a community center that do justice to Dover's rich history while also taking use of the site's incomparable view of the surrounding countryside and the English Channel.
