The Thornapple Players, a talented group of local actors dedicated to providing theatrical opportunities for adults in Barry County, will perform their annual spring musical, “Guys & Dolls” the next two weekends in the new Barry Community Enrichment Center (Leason Sharpe Hall) in Downtown Hastings. Called “the greatest of all American musicals” by Time Magazine, winner of nine Tony Awards and the 1951 Pultizer Prize for drama, this production promises to be a great show, not to be missed. There will be a dress rehearsal this Thursday, April 26, open to the public ($5). Performances are Friday & Saturdays, April 27-28 and May 4-5 with Sunday Matinees at 2pm on April 29 & May 6. Adults pay $8; children, students and seniors pay $6. Tickets are available at the door or at Progressive Graphics on South Jefferson Street. Next Saturday (6:30-8pm) the institute will present a family program, “Bee Amazed at the Life of Bees!” Don Snoeyink will share his knowledge of and enthusiasm for honeybees with an engaging program during which participants will be able to view live bees within an observation hive and use beeswax to make a candle. The annual Woodpecker Festival will be next weekend in the Village of Middleville.
