hornapple Manor resident Glennis Norrell receives the first official welcome from staff to her new home at the Cottages at Thornapple Manor, the new 23-bed, 23,000-square-foot skilled-nursing facility designed and furnished according to the latest research on dementia patient care. With facilities and programming allowing residents to help staff with cooking, laundry and recreational activities, The Cottages will offer residents the home-like and family setting key to dementia care. Offering Norrell her housewarming welcome are Thornapple Manor staff members (from left) Teresa Coenen, director of social work; Liz Bishop, assistant director of nursing; Jackie Schantz, director of nursing; Sara Drake, administrative coordinator; and Lyn Briel, director of support services.
