horal director Bob Oster may have retired from a 35-year teaching career, but he will never retire from music. Thirty years ago, Oster started the Lakewood Area Choral Society when he learned that adults still wanted to sing, some long after they left high school. Among the 122 voices that now make up the group, are (from left) Diane Haskin, a lifelong member, and Kevin Willison and Jack Vos, who answered the artistic call five years ago. Through their voices and the gifts of countless volunteers, the Lakewood Choral Society has earned recognition and kept alive the love of music for not only members, but also the audiences before which they appear.
