the face of the culinary arts worldhas changed. this change has made becoming a chef, a career that was once considered undesirable, one of the fastest growing professions in the nation.a cooking school is an institution devoted to education in the art and science of cooking and food preparation. Chefs have become household names, cooking shows are taking television by storm, and new and exotic restaurants are replacing the old and mundane. SITE CONTEXT This project was located within the office district of the contentment area; which has a significant cultural impact in the surrounding area. Here the challenge was to use the existing buildings and to design new interventions; which would give new life to the old and indeed potentially new life to the office district. We started by surveying the existing fabric of contonment area (which also tied into our site studies) to give us an understanding of the site, its context and its immediate environment, to understand and appreciate the character and architectural merit of the existing context.

Housing or more generally living spaces, refers to the construction and assigned usage of houses or buildings collectively, for the purpose of sheltering people.Design a residential community, primarily owned by and catering to these needs, with a component of floating population built into the program. This floating populace are accommodated in rental accommodations and this helps to financially sustain the functioning of the community. It also contributes positively to the inhabitants, providing them with the opportunity to interact with different age groups outside their immediate family, and thereby providing a sense of social security.

SITE CONTEXT In order to facilitate good scope with the rentals and provide for a reasonably calm environment, the sites are to be chosen insemi-urban locations in Mysore and Srirangapatna. The site area will be in the vicinity of 1.5 to 1.75 acres . Site is a barren land with very less vegetation in it . There is small amount of trees in the corners of the site.
farmland site site map
Program shall include, apart from housing and landscaping, associated services like STP, RWH etc and necessary amenities like a PHC, convenient store, ATMs etc. One public interface between the community and the the larger society it resides in is also to be thought off and designed.
27| housing
TYPE 1 HOUSING Houses, only for the older couple, with their own workspaces/studios, a space that caters to their hobby/skills/work .
TYPE 2 HOUSING Houses with provisions for the BnB like above, and another home that can be rented out to a small family for long stay .
TYPE 3 HOUSING Houses which include provision for a single bedroom bread and breakfast, short stay accommodation to function along with each house .

Master plan
My intent was to divide all three types of housing form one and others . All types had differrent perspective in their design and ideas . so first i divided the site into 3 parts . which one part was the public spaces and other two were the housing . Type one was on the ground Type two had G+1 wtih 2 bedrooms . Type three is different from others because it has levels betweens each houses . Each houses are located in different levels whcih again consists of G+1 . All the houses have a private gardens and a balconies . It has public play area which can be used by all three communities . It has supermarkets , libarary , a hall for any funtions and parking lot for every one .

9 cubes
Erno Rubik, is a Hungarian inventor, he is an architect, what he is most famous for though, is for his conception and design of the Rubik’s Cube. He says, ‘The Cube is, at the same time, a symbol of simplicity and complexity’. The humble Cube has been quite influential, it has in fact even inspired a popular modern visual art style of the twentieth century. In this studio, we shall explore the volumes of a cube to create tangible space

SITE CONTEXT This site is located on the banks of lake sandynulla, tamil nadu. it is one of the tourist destination and is and ideal place for building a vacation house.
APPROACH TO DESIGN The building is placed on a 6m slope in east west direction and is dug up and filled based on the levels needed for the construction The building steps down gradually for various room and the work room is placed at the lowest level facing the lake that is on the east side. The wall facing the lake is glazed to allow in early sunlight as much as possible and is inclined to take enough advantage of the view.

plan
Consider a volume of 3m x 3m x 3m, enclosed in a grid of columns (0.3mx0.3m), floor and roof plates. Taking nine such volumes, create a place of habitation for four persons. Two of the nine volumes are to be treated as voids. Explore the ways in which the cubes can be arranged, with the two void cubes complementing the other seven. This is a G+1 structure, so stacking the cubes one above the other is an option as well. The construction of the building is economical and fast as it is made out of wood and is suitable for the climate if proper insulation is used while construction.

cob technique
The main idea of the work shop was to expriment with new material and get used to its properties. This is part of our semester activites where we all work together in 1:1 scale . The technique which we explored was the cob . The intent was to make a seating under a tree. Cob is a natural building material made from subsoil, water, fibrous organic material (typically straw). The form is an irregular S-shaped which is obtained by following two trees. The seating has un - uniform undelation so that they can lean on or take rest unlike other contemporary seatings. The main motive of the seating was to create a resting space for the drivers who waits all day at the parking lot.

This workshop focused on trying to replicate the master detail of renowned architect Carlo Scrapa . This project had a group of four members .We were to replicate the railing detials of Carlo Scrapa . we first made a prototype of the detail later we used diifferent materials to get the final outcome. So bacically we used MS widely and we had a wooden handle for the hand rest. Actually this railing is placed around the opennings in a buliding . Railing’s handle is not fixed its left hanging ,he has designed this because he didnt want the people to rest or lean on the railing. we had a great experience learning the detail.

Q ube
The workshop was conducted during quarentine where we as a group had to design a product for post covid-19 .Our group came up with interior space work pod which could be placed anywhere in the room or office ,yet you get privacy and being safe In a day and age where most of our workforce is compelled to work from home how can we look at addressing the issues of creating a work environment similar to that of an office, but at home? Currently the most common problem faced by an employee working at home is dealing with the surrounding - most ofthem don’t have a definite study room / workspace set up and end up sitting on couches/dining tables all day with their kids, families etc

Sketching As a kid, I spent hours drawing and sketching ideas that popped into my head I used drawing as a primary language for capturing thoughts, exploring ideas and then sharing those ideas. Sketching has been my favourite hobby. https://www.instagram.com/naret_art/
Photography Photography is one of the best way to capture beauty around us . Few people take pictures solely to please themselves. Most of us take them because we want them seen by others. Pictures are a photographer’s means of expression Also being a travel enthusiast it helps me in exploring places, culture, typologies through photography. Here is my collection of photography from my architecture student life. https://www.instagram.com/naret_ic/
