Children's Learning Centre Year : 2022 Project Type : Institutional Site Location : Chamrajpet , Bangalore Built up : 6000 sqm The project was to design a children's learning centre with other supporting programs for kids if different age and also for the local adults. The programs that catered to the kids are day care, labs, tuition, music class, dance class, astrology class etc. Retail, rentals, office space and auditorium catered to the public. The site also has a huge park towards the south, so people coming to the park could also enjoy the park and the public library available in the building. The open spaces for the kids are secluded and are visible from every corner of the building so they are under staff provision. The playground and the classrooms are in the periphery of the site .
17 | Children's Learning Centre
CONCEPTUAL SKETCHES
The initial concept was to react to the site and make the spaces interesting since its used by mostly the kids.Firstly wanted to open the building towards the playground adjacent to the site and connect to the public park but not a direct connection but an indirect connection to create sense of enclosure for the kids. So the buildings are oriented in such a way that the movement from small spaces to a bigger space creates a sense of funnelling. which would create a sense of surprise for the kids when they move through different sizes of spaces.

All the diagrams combined shows how the building works in the form of functions and the movement and the zoning of the spaces
GROUND FLOOR PLAN
The ground floor master plan, Starting with the entry is from the western road. The pubic block is towards the northwest of the site and the learning centre is towards the south side. As we move towards the northern side we have the retail blocks which are facing the western road inviting the people into the building. The retail block opens up onto the plaza on the west side and the inner courtyard which acts as a transitional court. The central block is a Lab and experimental space. The south side is the learning centre block which is designed to have a seamless movement through the spaces and all the classrooms have curved edges which is made of precast concrete walls and slabs . The courtyard towards the east is used by kids and the slide which spills in to the courtyard from the first floor

This skin section is cut along the public building facing on the western side , hence use of louvers to cut down the harsh sunlight on the first floor. The louvers are precast and are made of concrete. Following the skin there is a layer of galss window thats entry of diffuse sunlight in the space.
Jalli wall is used to increase the porosity , visibilty of the space in the corridor. So this jalli wall is used in the childrens learning space to provide a safer visible connection to the outside .

Urban study - Paths de Pete Year : 2020 Project Type : Urban development Site Location : New Tharagupete , Bangalore Built up : 14000 sqm The proposed project is an Urban development, we were a group of three people who worked on this project. Initially, we found certain areas in the given and picked 7 different areas which needed to be developed in their respective way. The seven sites which are chosen were developed to the required needs. we as a group of three divided 2 sites each to design accordingly but we had created a certain language to be followed in the design which would connect each of our sites as one complete urban development. The two sites which were designed by myself were the Public complex and flea market. Institute of urban designers india IUDI - Declared the urban design project “paths de pete” as one of the top 20 urban projects in Bangalore and was exhibited in Bangalore international centre 29 | Urban study - Paths de Pete

The form is an irregular S-shaped which is obtained by following two trees. The seating has un - uniform undelation so that they can lean on or take rest unlike other contemporary seatings. The main motive of the seating was to create a resting space for the drivers who waits all day at the parking lot.

This workshop focused on trying to replicate the master detail of renowned architect Carlo Scrapa . This project had a group of four members .We were to replicate the railing detials of Carlo Scrapa .we first made a prototype of the detail later we used diifferent materials to 150.0 get the final outcome. So bacically we used MS widely and we had a wooden handle for the hand rest. Actually this railing is placed around the opennings in a buliding .Railing’s handle is not fixed its left hanging ,he has designed this because he didnt want the people to rest or lean on the railing.we had a great experience learning the detail.

Other works Sketching/Renders As a kid, I spent hours drawing and sketching ideas that popped into my head. I used drawing as a primary language for capturing thoughts, exploring ideas and then sharing those ideas. Sketching has been my favourite hobby. Rendering was something which I developed during my architectural course, which has always helped me to visualise my ideas and design close to reality, I have always tried to experiment with different types of ideas and to create something interesting https://www.instagram.com/naret_art/ Photography Photography is one of the best ways to capture the beauty around us. Few people take pictures solely to please themselves. Most of us take them because we want them seen by others. Pictures are a photographer’s means of expression also being a travel enthusiast helps me in exploring places, culture, and typologies through photography. Here is my collection of photography from my architecture student life. https://www.instagram.com/naret_ic/
