Message from the President
Dear Class of 2024 Graduate,
Congratulations on your graduation!
Your tenure as a student has shaped our community and your success as an alumnus will shape our legacy!
As you embark on the next chapter of your life, take stock of all you have overcome and achieved, and continue to Be Bold, Be Kind and Be Good Teammates.
Be Bold and step outside of your comfort zone. Nobel Laureate Andre Gide reminds us that we “cannot discover new oceans unless” we have “the courage to lose sight of the shore.” Go out and discover new oceans, and be sure to introduce their wonders to others.
Your experiences at Ramapo have provided you with the necessary tools to be bold and ethical leaders, to problem-solve, and to collaborate. Share those talents with others but when doing so, always Be Kind, be humble, and acknowledge that our learning as contributing members of society is a constant.
I have learned that Roadrunners labor together well, with kindness in their hearts, whether it be on the field, in the classroom, or in the very popular group study rooms at our Learning Commons. Continue to lead with empathy and Be Good Teammates by not just listening to perspectives different than your own but by seeking them out and amplifying them when necessary.
On behalf of your faculty and staff, please know that it brings us tremendous joy when you return to us to share your successes and your challenges. Do stay in touch. We look forward to continuing to be a part of your journey.
Sincerely,

Anisfield School of Business
Dean Edward Petkus
The Anisfield School of Business provides comprehensive learning experiences in the business disciplines and in the human skills necessary for a rewarding life and career. Our students approach their business studies from both a macro and micro perspective; they develop both rational and emotional intelligence; they develop both analytical and creative skills; and they learn to balance profitability with sustainability. In addition to a strong foundation in the business disciplines, the Anisfield School of Business provides a strong liberal arts and interdisciplinary foundation to broaden the student’s perspective and intellectual abilities.
In the spring of 2006, the original Ramapo College School of Administration and Business was renamed the Anisfield School of Business in recognition of the generous gifts of the Anisfield family. Since 2010, the Anisfield School of Business has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB accreditation ensures that we are fulfilling our mission: to provide students with a strong educational
foundation for a lifetime of learning and for career achievement as responsible contributors and leaders, within a supportive learning environment where engaged faculty bridge theory and practice. AACSB accreditation also ensures that our core values— academic excellence, professionalism, and learning bydoing, diversity, integrity, social responsibility, global awareness and continuous improvement —are manifest in our teaching, research, and service to the College and community.
The School offers seven undergraduate majors: B.S. in Accounting, B.S. in Marketing, B.S. in Finance, B.S. in Management, B.A. in Economics, B.S. in Information Technology Management, and B.A. in International Business. The school offers minors in Accounting, Economics, Information Technology Management, International Business, Sports Management, Human Resource Management, Business
Analytics, and Entrepreneurship. At the graduate level, the Anisfield School of Business offers a “4+1” B.S. to M.S. in Accounting and a “4+1” Flex MBA Program for undergraduate business majors, in which students complete both their undergraduate and graduate degrees in just five years.
Academic advisement, career guidance, and professional development are integrated throughout a student’s years at Ramapo College. The ASB Cahill Career Development Center assists students in finding internships and co-ops during their undergraduate experience, and relevant full-time employment—the first step in building fulfilling careers—upon graduation. The Career Center also administers our Career Pathways Program (required for graduation), which provides students with skills/ interests assessment, resume preparation, and interviewing skill development.
Outside of the classroom, our students are heavily involved in major-specific clubs, as well as Alpha Kappa Psi (co-ed business fraternity), ENACTUS (social entrepreneurship organization), the Roadrunner Financial Group Student Investment Club, the Entrepreneurship Club, the Women in Business Club, the Fashion Marketing Club, and three professionally-oriented honor societies: Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and Beta Alpha Psi.

School of Contemporary Arts
Dean Ken Goldstein
For over 40 years, The School of Contemporary Arts has been an interdisciplinary arts program committed to providing students with an outstanding education in the visual, performing, and communication arts with a strong emphasis on the Ramapo College pillars: interdisciplinary curriculum, international education, intercultural understanding and experiential learning opportunities. The School, which is inherently interdisciplinary in its structure and its goals, recognizes the interconnectedness of the arts in contemporary society, and encourages students to develop and communicate ideas in multiple media. Excellent instruction in the visual arts, communication arts, theater, and music takes place in small studio, lab, seminar, and discussion settings, as well as through activities outside the classroom environment. Practical experience, public presentation, and reflection are integrated into the educational process in many ways, such as through required Internships, theater production, musical performance and recording, visual arts production and exhibition, and the production and viewing of video, film, and design work.
The School’s faculty are dedicated teachers, nationally known for their
professional artistic and scholarly achievements. In addition to the full-time faculty, the school attracts many working artists and media professionals to teach as adjunct faculty, or to serve as guest artists. Because of our small class sizes, the faculty are able to mentor students closely and help them realize their artistic and professional potential and goals.
The School of Contemporary Arts offers five majors:
Communication Arts (with concentrations in Digital Filmmaking, Global Communication and Media, Digital Journalism And Writing, and Visual Communication Design) Music (with concentrations in: Music Industry, Music Performance, Music Production, and Music Studies), Theater (with concentrations in: Acting, Directing/Stage Management, Design/Technical Theater, and Theater Studies), Visual Arts (with concentrations in: Art History, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Electronic Art and Animation, and Photography), Contemporary Arts Contract Major (an interdisciplinary
major that enables students to develop individualized programs that correspond to their special interests and career goals)
The School is housed in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts, featuring theater, music, and visual arts spaces, and in C and H buildings, which provide classrooms and studios including the Les Paul recording studio, digital imaging and writing labs, an editing lab, a field production classroom, and private editing suites. Additionally, the School occupies a freestanding sculpture studio complex. Students benefit from the professional performing arts programming on campus which include music, dance, and theater performances in the Sharp Theater, and from the visual arts exhibitions in the college Art Galleries, which focus on contemporary art in changing exhibitions, and which feature one of the foremost collections of works from the Americas and the Caribbean in the permanent collection. Additionally, students participate across campus in co-curricular activities including those connected to specific CA Programs.
The curricula across CA emphasizes an understanding of the traditions of the past while exploring new means of storytelling, expression, media, and communication. Students are encouraged to move freely across the disciplines of the school to more fully experience the creative process and to build upon knowledge gained in areas outside their majors. And, of course, students take full advantage of the campus’s proximity to New York City with its unlimited opportunities in the arts and media.

The School of Social Science and Human Services (SSHS) enrolls over 1400 students in its degree and certification programs. We have 50 full-time faculty and 55 part-time instructors who serve 8 majors, 12 minors, including the Teacher Education Program, a Master of Science in Contemporary Instructional Design, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, a Master in Special Education, and a Master of Social Work program.
To understand society and culture, a historical understanding rooted in critical thinking and social inquiry is necessary. SSHS provides social awareness and experiential learning to develop students who are aiming to effect social change, address societal inequity, and properly distinguish between fact and fiction. Students who graduate from a major with SSHS are able to foster social, statistical, and ecological literacy.

School of Theoretical and Applied Science
Dean Edward Saiff
The School of Theoretical and Applied Science has been a part of Ramapo College since it admitted its first class in 1971. Since its inception TAS has been committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service in the sciences and mathematics, and has sought to prepare its graduates, not only for professional and academic careers, but to be scientifically literate citizens and lifelong learners in an increasingly complex and everchanging technological culture.
The School’s curricula are comprehensive in scope, including those designed to promote scientific and mathematical understanding among non-science majors across the College. TAS offers 13 undergraduate majors, 10 minors, a 4+1 toward a masters in Data Science, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics as well as graduate programs in Nursing. All our academic programs are structured to meet the requirements of national accreditation standards as well as the needs of the
contemporary marketplace and community. All students learn the sciences and mathematics in depth from multidisciplinary perspectives and within the broader contexts of the liberal arts and global understanding. All of our classrooms, teaching laboratories, and research spaces have been completely renovated and we have the newly constructed Adler Center for Nursing Excellence. We have the most up-to-date teaching and research equipment that is available.
The School of Theoretical and Applied Science places a strong emphasis on teaching, practice, and public service. It encourages faculty/ student collaborative research as a continuing course of study. Its faculty and graduates continue to serve as rich resources for governmental agencies, academic institutions, and private research facilities in promoting the public good and educational excellence.

Athens, Greece
During the week my family
in Greece, we went on a cruise in Hydra! This was my favorite island that I visited.
Alexandria Kim | Spring 2023
Ever since high school, I wanted to study abroad. With the help of the Roukema Center, I was able to study abroad in the Spring 2023 semester at the American College of Greece in Athens. With this experience, I was able to meet new people, see new places, and learn more about myself than I ever had before!

Alexander Kave | Summer 2023
Hej! My name is Alexander Kave and I studied abroad in Copenhagen during Summer 2023. Studying abroad in a city I’ve always wanted to go to was such a joy! I was able to get an amazing class from someone extremely experienced in commercial advertising and digital marketing. I was able to experience a culture different to that from the United States (purposefully renting a bike was very rewarding). Study abroad has been one of the best decisions I have made during my time in college, helping me be more aware of different cultures when I enter the professional world. Consider doing one yourself if the moment comes around for you!

Amanda DiMontova | Summer 2023
Studying abroad was an incredibly transformative and meaningful chapter in my college journey. It marked the first time I ventured out into the world on my own, and the independence I gained was both liberating and empowering. Meeting people from diverse cultures and countries was a profound experience that will always stay with me, broadening my horizons and challenging my perspectives in ways I had never imagined. Exploring new places not only satisfied my wanderlust but also deepened my appreciation for our global community. This experience has left an indelible mark on my life, making me a more independent, empathetic, and globally aware individual as I embark on my post-graduation journey.
Berlin, Germany
Maddie Zech | Summer 2023
I am beyond grateful for being granted the opportunity to gain the experience of studying abroad in Berlin, Germany. Aside from this experience being an incredible learning opportunity to advance my field of studies in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, I was able to immerse myself in the German culture. Traveling to three other countries also enhanced my experience abroad because I learned new characteristics about myself, which transformed me into the person I am today.

Demi Rooyakkers | Summer 2022
During the summer of 2022, I was incredibly fortunate to study abroad in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. The experience I had that summer was nothing short of life-changing, as I learned so much about a language, culture, and lifestyle completely foreign to me. I was immensely lucky to have the opportunity to explore cities including Madrid, Toledo, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vittoria, Pamplona, Doniene, Guernica, Barcelona, Valencia, islands such as Menorca and Ibiza, and even cities in France. The architecture, art, music, landscapes, nightlife, language, cuisine, events, urban lifestyle, friendships, fashion, excursions, and learning opportunities to which I was exposed were forever memorable. As a future healthcare worker, my coursework and cultural immersion in Spain was undeniably transformative for my future career. If I were to give any advice to an undergraduate student, it would be to study abroad, because of the most incredible time of my life I had in Spain.
Toledo, Spain was one of my favorite trips taken during my study abroad. The architecture is incredible, and the religious history of this town is especially memorable.
was lucky to travel with an incredible group of fellow Ramapo
all of whom made my abroad experience even more unforgettable.

Though one of the most beautiful views of my entire abroad experience, visiting La Ermita de San Juan was also one of the most challenging days. With a total of over 30,000 steps and 81 flights climbed, I was glad the view was worth the challenging hikes.

Athena Pascual | Summer 2023
Throughout my experience and time studying abroad last summer of 2023 was definitely life changing for me. It impacted and allowed me to develop new and strong friendships all over the world and be able to adapt to a whole new atmosphere and helped me change the person I am today. Studying abroad has helped me prepare for my career to become a great mentor and leader in the future. This was very important to me because this was something I needed as part of my college experience and it was something I want to explore as part of my goals as a Roadrunner overall. I would definitely recommend and encourage others to take part in this journey!

Zachary Chivers | Spring 2023
Ciao! My name is Zachary Chivers and I got the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy through the API program! I studied Luxury Brand Management at Lorenzo de’ Medici and was not only able to focus on my studies but also fully immerse myself in Italian culture and history. It’s difficult to summarize my experience in such a short paragraph because I feel as though this experience was overall life changing. I developed my Italian language skills, connected with people I would’ve never met in my life, and I gained some healthy pasta/pizza weight. If you’re still deciding if studying abroad is really the best thing for you, don’t hesitate! Go for it and step into something unknown.
Went all alone, stepped out of my comfort zone, and made some friends in Split, Croatia while Ziplining.
After my study abroad had ended in Florence, I traveled to Napoli and Pompeii to see the ruins and to celebrate Napoli winning the scudetto.
A gorgeous street in Florence, Italy.
Took a solo trip on a train to Pisa and got to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
I took one of the many available trips through my study abroad program to Rome, Italy and saw the magnificent colosseum.

In the summer of 2022, I studied abroad at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. I participated in their summer Global Studies and Spanish Program. Spain is a breathtaking country full of rich culture, architecture, food, and more. But the best part of my trip was the people. I will never forget their warm, inviting way of life and the kindness and hospitality I was shown while I was there.

Studying abroad was one of the best experiences of my life! I made great friends for life, incredible memories, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences! I learned about a new culture and improved my language skills over the course of this program. I would recommend studying abroad to everyone!

Studying abroad has truly been a transformative experience, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had this opportunity. It not only expanded my academic horizons but also fostered personal growth and cultural understanding. Exposure to different educational systems, work environments, and diverse societies instilled essential life skills, such as adaptability, independence, and effective communication. This journey has significantly shaped my college career, altering the course of my future and reigniting my passion for travel and exploration. My time at Ramapo College has been a long and rewarding journey, and I’m immensely grateful for the abundance of opportunities it has provided, equipping me with new skills and enhancing my prospects for the future. Most importantly, this experience pushed me to confront and overcome challenges, developing the resilience to face any future obstacles with confidence.
Cambridge’s convenient one-hour direct train to London allowed me to embark on an exciting day trip to Buckingham Palace. I had the pleasure of witnessing the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
When I first envisioned visiting the UK, the iconic red telephone booths were the first thing on my mind. Even though they were no longer in use, their presence still held the essence of England.

While studying abroad, I developed new skills and qualifications such as the ability to clarify and set goals and work to achieve them. I gained more self, global, economic, and political awareness by living in Spain, visiting neighboring countries, and taking classes. My mother tongue is Spanish and this opportunity made me expand my vocabulary in this language. Studying abroad was important in my college career because it made me connect with students that studied abroad and wanted to learn more about it. Here are some of the places I visited in Spain…
Copenhagen, Denmark
Olivia Trezza | Summer 2023
My three-week study abroad trip to Denmark and Spain in June 2023 was life changing. I took a class called Food Taste and Waste, where I learned about different food production techniques, cultures, and methods of disposal and how to make all of these aspects more sustainable. Including myself I lived Co-Ed with five other girls and five boys and we were placed perfectly together and all became such close friends and have been staying in touch since. I got to meet such amazing people, have some of the best meals I’ve ever had, and made unforgettable memories through sightseeing and hands-on learning experiences. I am so lucky and glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to travel alone and navigate being surrounded by all new people in a foreign country, and learn about some things I’ve always been curious about! This was a highlight of my academic career and I highly recommend anyone interested in studying abroad to push yourself and pursue this opportunity to learn more about yourself and your major!
was lucky enough to see the beautiful La Segrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain!
Towards the end of the program, some of my roommates and I rented an electric boat in Copenhagen’s harbor!
I went to the National Gallery of Denmark, which features Danish and international art from the past seven centuries.
Once we reached the top of The Round Tower, my roommates and I had a 360 view of the surrounding area in Copenhagen!

Crystal Carino | Summer 2022
I studied abroad for 5 weeks in Bilbao, Spain, where I attended Deusto University and stayed with a host family. I was immersed in the culture and practiced my Spanish skills everywhere I went since people in Bilbao primarily only spoke Spanish. Since I am a nursing major, this experience has helped me communicate better with patients in the hospital who only speak Spanish. I am forever grateful for the friends and memories I have made on this trip.
Some other school-planned trips included visits to Madrid, Plentzia, Guernica, San Sebastián, Getxo, Vitoria, and the running of the bulls in Pamplona.
Some activities during our weekend trip to Barcelona consisted of going to Park Güell, La Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou soccer stadium, a flamenco show, and trying authentic paella.
Our day trip to Bayona and Biarritz in France.
Athens, Greece
Julia Rirak | Fall 2023
Studying abroad in Athens, Greece was a truly amazing experience. It was an incredible way to discover and see the world before I go off to dental school in a way that textbooks couldn’t capture. Venturing into numerous countries during my free time was nothing short of incredible. Having one of my best friends by my side through the entire experience made it even better. The chance to marvel at distinct architectures, immerse myself in various cultures, and absorb the rich histories of these places was fascinating. Beyond the site-seeing, this experience taught me so much about myself as a person. I am so grateful for Ramapo’s direct exchange study abroad program and for The American College of Greece for offering me a home away from home for a few months.
A girls trip to Vienna meant we had to make a stop at the Schönbrunn Palace! This incredible palace had so much interesting history behind its beauty

Danielle,
Ever since you were young, you have had such a love of learning and exploring the world around you. During these past years at Ramapo your enthusiasm has taken you in so many directions. You have polished your writing skills to become the editorin-chief of the college newspaper, completed multiple internships, studied abroad in Costa Rica and been honored by the NJ Society of Women Environmental Professionals. Now it only seems natural that your interests have led you to obtain an Environmental Science Degree.
Wherever the road takes you, just know you already make the world a better place! We love you so much! So just continue to follow your dreams and enjoy the journey called life! Congratulations!!!
Love, Mom and Dad

Congratulations on your graduation! I am so very proud of yet another achievement of yours. It has been such a wonderful privilege to watch you grow into this amazing woman. I am so blessed and thankful that you were the first to give me that title, “Mom.” Your dad would have been just as proud if he was still with us. (I’m sure your brother, Owen is quietly proud of you, too) May God continue to bless you as you go through your own journey of your next chapters and your future endeavors. May He give you many happy moments and strength to endure those challenging ones. Please remember that you are loved no matter what and I will always be there for you.
Athena,
A hearty congratulation on your graduation Athena! You are brilliant, able and ambitious and we hope your dreams take you to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known. The journey of your life brings both challenges and chances, you always carry your spirit to snatch the chances and beat the challenges. May you be blessed with all that you need to earn many more achievements and feats in life ahead. Put your heads up high, you should live a proud life because we are beyond proud! Congratulations Athena! It was all worth it.
The perfect child she is! Jada, you lightened up every room and everyone around you. Your round face, laugh, smile, and competitive side. Oh! the competitiveness that remains within you after all these years. We had to lose games purposely because you would get upset. It paid off as you broke records in soccer, track, and basketball; all of which granted you a future opportunity. We have seen you grow from when we held you in our arms after almost 30 hours of labor to seeing you overachieve academically. By the grace of God, you remain Faithful and HE continues to bless your every move. This road was not easy; it came with a lot of stress, tears, hard work, determination, the unknowns, I’m done... to you know “I can’t” is not in our vocabulary LOL! The strength that you displayed has allowed you to reach this level of success, maturity and adulthood. We are truly thankful, grateful, and blessed to have a beautiful one-ofa-kind daughter. We are proud of you and your accomplishments. You have made history in just being YOU! We love you and look forward to what’s in store for your future.
Jada, Love Mom & DaDa
Kierstin,
You did it! We just want you to know how proud of you we are; we always were and always will be. We’ve witnessed you stressed, and in doubt, we’ve seen you struggle to try and juggle it all and you still stayed afloat even exceeding your own expectations.
Keep going no matter what obstacles may try to get in your way, this is just the beginning. I know you will manifest everything that is great into your life. Keep smiling, Keep winning.
Love Mom & Dad
