'Different Faces' is Ethan Ramos' Project for UNSW Landscape Architecture Graduating Studio 2020. This project that focuses on the topic of social inequity, in which through design aims to explore the role Landscape Architects have in assisting in the prevention of such inequities. The project attempts to utilise various tools Landscape Architects have such as; mapping, graphing, modelling and rendering- in order to help better convey and understand the complex concept. The project stemmed from research, focusing on low income communities and their access to green spaces, as well as the concept of inclusion and exclusion within cities.
Ultimately, ‘Different Faces’ aims to design an urban park that refines the issue of social inequity to its essence: social interaction. The final design reveals that parks and urban spaces that aim to be socially equitable must firstly become human centred and promote positive interactions and exchanges of culture.
