Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, Argentina. It is commonly known as the “Southernmost city in the world”. Ushuaia is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, bounded on the north by the Martial mountain range, and on the south by the Beagle Channel. Tierra del Fuego Nat Park, has dramatic scenery, with waterfalls, forests, mountains and glaciers. Its 630 km2 (240 sq mi) include parts of the Fagnano and Roca lakes. The Senda Costera (Coastal Path), connecting Ensenada Bay to Lapataia Bay on Lago Roca, is a popular hiking trail within the park. Forests of Antarctic beech, lenga beech and coihue in the lower elevations of the park are home to many animal species. There are 20 species of terrestrial mammals, including the guanaco, Andean fox, North American beaver, European rabbit and muskrat. Among the 90 species of birds are the kelp goose, torrent duck, austral parakeet, Andean condor, blackish oystercatcher, and Magellanic oystercatcher. It´s the southernmost national park in Argentina. Another symbol is the Beagle Channel, is a strait in Tierra del Fuego Archipelago on the extreme southern tip of South America partly in Chile and partly in Argentina. The channel separates the larger main island of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego from various smaller islands. From Ushuaia, there are many cruises leaving to Antarctica each summer, usualy from December to February. The city also offer a great ski resort, the southermost ski resort in the world, with a large season to enjoy snow from June to October.
USH 001 - EXCURSION TO TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK (HALF DAY) Half day Trip to visit the Southernmost National Park in Patagonia This excursion will start when we pick you up from your hotel, to take you to the Tierra del Fuego National Park; this is located just 12 km away from the city of Ushuaia. When we enter in the park, you can take the Train of the End of The World. The train is optional in the excursion to the park. Once in the park, you are going to see different species of vegetation for our pretty characteristic forest, something as bushes, beech trees, ñires, Indio’s beard and flowers in an extension of 63.000 hectares. During our trip we will make different stops, to enjoy the panoramic views and take pictures. From there, we are going to go to Verde Lake and then to Lapataia Bay, places where you could see beaver dams and peatlands. On our way back, we will stop on La Roca. USH 002 - EXCURSION TO TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK + TRAIN OF THE END OF THE WORLD (HALF DAY) Half day Trip to visit the Southernmost National Park in Patagonia with the incredible Train of the End of the World This excursion will start when we pick you up from your hotel, to take you to the Tierra del Fuego National Park; this is located just 12 km away from the city of Ushuaia. Half Day activitiy USH 003 - EXCURSION TO FAGNANO AND ESCONDIDO LAKES (FULL DAY) Great excursion to Fagnano and Escondido Lakes in the heart of Tierra del Fuego Island This trip starts when we pick you up from your hotel around 9 in the morning, with everybody on board we are going to drive north on the National Route Nº 3. When we get far away from the Beagle Channel, we will see Olivia’s mountain and 5 hermanos mountain, also the Carbajal valley where the people work with the peatland. One of the main highlights it’s going to be the Alaskan and Siberian dog’s hatcheries, ready to do dog sledding. After, our way takes us to Tierra Mayor Valley, where we are going to see Bonete, Pelado and Alvear hills. Also we are going through Hambre Ranch, where the “J” route starts, and communicates with Harberton Ranch and Almanza Port. After reaching a height of 500 metros over the sea level, we are going to enjoy one of the most incredible panoramic views of Escondido Lake and Fagnano Lake. Here is where we are going to do a descent walk on an old trail that will take us to Escondido Lake. After a couple minutes, we are going to find ourselves in an amazing scenario, where the water is emerald green and the forest is really leafy.
This trip it’s going to continue by the Route Nº3 , going through the Bronsovich sawmill, on the way to Fagnano Lake, where we are going down, to see the lake closely, and admire the beauty. Fagnano Lake is one of the biggest in South America, because it´s more than 100 kilometers long. When the return time it´s close, we are going to do our last stop on the Siberian Huskies hatchery, where we can learn more about these beautiful animals. To finish this excursion, you are going to enjoy a delicious lamb before coming back to Ushuaia. The return is going to be around 16 hs. USH 004 – TRAIN OF THE END OF THE WORLD Learn more about the history of the Southernmost train in the world… During the excursion to Tierra del Fuego Nat Park, you can take the Train of the End of The World. If you choose to do it, you will ride the same trails as the prisoners who were looking for wood, to heat the old presidio. This ride would be in an incredible landscape composed by forest, rivers, peatlands, and the ruins of an Indian settlement. USH 005 – BEAGLE CHANNEL NAVIGATION – ISLA DE LOS LOBOS – HALF DAY A basic boat navigation to visit Beagle Channel: Bird´s Island, Sea Lion´s Island and Les Eclareirs Lighhouse… Departing from the port of Ushuaia, our navigation starts from Ushuaia´s bay to the Beagle Channel. The ship will stop on the “Los Pajaros” island, where you will see the wildlife from the place, and particularly Skuas, Black-browed Albatross, Steam Ducks, Cauquenes, Gaviotas Cooks Gaviotas and Gray Gaviotas. When we get to “De los Lobos” island, the main attractions are going to be the sea lions of 1 and 2 hairs. Those islands are part of the Bridges archipelago. We are going to reach the “Les Eclaireirs” Island, place where you will see the lighthouse and you will see Royal and Imperial Cormorants, and also you can learn the story of the SS Monte Cervantes´s shipwreck, many years ago on the 30´s. On Karelo Island, you will have the option walk around; where you could see Yámanas´s shell middens and also flora y avifauna of the place. This walk will be 30 minutes long and on winter will depends on the amount of snow. On your return to Ushuaia, you are going to be amazed with the incredible landscape of the Martial´s Mountain. 006 – BEAGLE CHANNEL NAVIGATION – PENGUIN ROOKERY MARTILLO ISLAND A Beagle Channel Navigation to visit different points including the penguin colony of Martillo Island This excursion only happens between October and April, and it´s going to be across the Beagle Channel stopping on the main islands, to finally get to Martillo´s Island, where you are going to see the penguins. We will start from the port, and then we will stop on “De Los Lobos” and “De Los Pajaros” islands, to see Sea Lions and Cormorants. After this, we are going to go to “Les Eclereus” Lighthouse. While we are navigating east, it will possible to see incredible views of the Channel and the Mountains. During the navigation, we will identify Almanza´s Port on the Argentine side, and Puerto William´s naval base on the Chilean side. Martillo Island, to stop around 30 minutes, and enjoy the experience with these lovely animals. You are going to be able to see mostly Magallanic Penguins and Papua Penguins.
USH 007 – TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK WITH CANOES (FULL DAY) A full day trip to enjoy the national park with an adventure touch It´s an amazing adventure on board of canoes and going into trails that are going to allow you to see the most incredible landscapes composed by sea, mountains and forest. The places that you are going to visit on this excursion are simply amazing. You could enjoy the variety of wildlife and flora, everywhere, on the Lapataia Bay or in the Beagle Channel. You could see foxes, birds, ducks, condors, eagles, beaver´s dams and peatlands. The excursion will start with the transfer from the hotel in Ushuaia, to the Ensenada Bay, located inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park. There is where you start the coastal path that is 6 ½ kilometers long and where is possible to see sea birds and different mammals. Along the way, we will go through archaeological sites, shell middens, species like the Canelo, the Notro and the ruins of an antique Yámana population. Between 3 and 4 hours later, we will get to the Roca Lake, where we are going to do a break to have lunch and get ready to board the canoes that will take us through Lapataria River. The canoeing part has duration of one hour and a half and you will enjoy at the maximum of the path of 5 kilometers. On the first part of the excursion you will have the possibility of seeing at the wildlife of the place, with magnificent species of water birds as: black neck swan, grebes and cauquenes. Then you will reach the Cormorants´s Archipelago where we will see the famous Beagle Channel with all the islands inhabited by different species, such as penguins and sea lions. The tour is going to finish in Lapataia Bay, where National Route Nº3 ends as well. Here you could see archaeological sites on an open view. On our return way, we will navigate closely to the coast of the Channel that will allow you to see the flora and the wildlife closer. You also will see Tunel, and Remolino Stanza, also the half-sunk, Steam Ship Monte Sarmiento, that´s been there from 1912. Our last view on our way back will be from the mountains that surrounded Ushuaia. This is a pretty complete trip, since you have history and nature, with incredible landscapes. USH 009 – ESMERALD LAGOON & MEET THE BEAVERS – FULL DAY A great opportunity to discover the amazing colour of the Emerald Lagoon and the habits and behavior of these introduced rodents. We begin with the walk to the lake in the afternoon, to return at the time of day when the beavers usually leave their burrows. At 3.30 PM we arrive to the starting point for an easy hike towards the Emerald lagoon. This is an excursion for those who enjoy being outdoors as the night takes a long time to arrive with its changing colors.
CAPE HORN & ANTARCTICA From Ushuaia, you can embark in many different cruises. To Antarctica, or to visit the incredible Cape Horn. Australis cruises offers good 3-night and 4-night alternatives to visit Cape Horn, going from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas, or viceversa. USH 010 – SEA KAYAK GABLE ISLAND (full day) Enjoy learning more about the Yamanas, the ancient civilization in a great kayaking adventure Among the destinations for Sea Kayaking in the Beagle Channel, the East offers a sense of freedom and distance from civilization that takes us back in time to the era when the Yamana inhabited this remote part of the planet. This is a full day experience, in which cross the forest along Route J, far from Ushuaia. Gable Island -among other neighboring isles- provides a dramatic backdrop. Gable Island, among other neighboring islands, provides a spectacular backdrop for kayaking activity at sea. The net time kayaking in this area away from the noise of civilization is more than four hours along a jagged coastline with deep bays. USH 011 – TURQUOISE LAGOON & CARBAJAL MOUNT (FULL DAY) A day’s hike at one of the most beautiful places in Ushuaia, in a journey of discovery far from the beaten path. After a few minutes transfer to the Tierra Mayor Valley, we will begin trekking to see the wonderful color of a glacial lake before reaching a summit with a privileged view. The walk begins with a demanding slope. After an hour’s walk, the forest is behind, the slope is not as steep, and we begin to enjoy incredible views from the top. After we reached 500 meters, the valley moderates leads to the tiny Turquoise Lagoon that, after a snowy winter may still be frozen at the beginning of October. After admiring the curious color of the turquoise lagoon, we will continue to gain altitude along a rocky ridge, and reach the summit of Mount Carbajal, from where we can see the namesake valley from an ideal perspective. From this point of view, it is easy to see the trace of the route that 10,000 years ago the glaciers made towards the Beagle Channel, during the last glaciation that shaped this unique landscape.

USH 012 – GABLE ISLAND, PENGUIN ROOKERY and HARBERTON RANCH (full day) This program is a beautiful journey into the almost uninhabited, peaceful location of the first “estancia” in Tierra del Fuego: Harberton Ranch. This full-day, active tour takes up to 20 passengers for a ride, to navigate, to walk and to make discoveries in one of the roughest and most beautiful places in the Beagle Channel. From the hotel, we leave Ushuaia Eastbound along National Route No. 3 and Route “J”. Once at Harberton Ranch we propose to visit the Marine Mammal Museum “Acatushún”, and the surroundings of one of the first white men settlements in Tierra del Fuego.

USH 013 – FULL DAY TREKKING TO MOUNT PELADO The Lookout over the Skies of Ushuaia This hike to reach a lookout located over 850 metres (2 790 feet) above Ushuaia is for those who love heights. At the summit of this mount a 360º panorama awaits us: mount Olivia and mount Cinco Hermanos, the Carvajal and Andorra valleys, the Beagle Channel, Murray Pass, Navarino and Hoste islands and the best view of Ushuaia. During a 3 hourlong uphill hike through the forest, we will have an intimate encounter with this milenary ecosystem. As we climb we might hear the mount pulse under our feet and hear its breath whispering in the trees. Once we reach the tree line, without the shelter of the forest, in the open we’ll see what the condors see. It is a steep and demanding hike, for which fitness is essential, but it pays-off with a moment between the clouds that exceeds imagination. USH 014 – ESTANCIA INES (FULL DAY) During this full-day tour we propose activities in the territory of Estancia Ines on the Atlantic coast. Our focus today is on the natural environment and the typical features of 19th Century Tierra de Fuego ranches, that make them different in many ways from other Patagonian estancias. Early in the morning, we leave Ushuaia Northbound to make the most out of our day during a 10 hour-long tour. We will cross the Andes Range at Garibaldi Pass, where we will enjoy a lookout over lake Escondido, a little wonder hidden at the bottom of a valley. After leaving behind the gigantic lake Fagnano, we enter the ecotone, an area where we witness the transitions between two ecosystems, and where the undulated steppe plunge into the sea and show patches of subantarctic forest.

USH 015 – EXPEDITION TO ALBINO GLACIER (FULL DAY) A great expedition trekking to enjoy a wonderful overview of the mountains in the End of the World The tour is going to start at 9 am, when we pick you up from your hotel, and drive north from Ushuaia to Tierra Mayor Valley, where the trekking is going to start, between Sorondo´s Mountain and Alvear Mountain, in the middle of the “Los Andes” Mountain. The path is part of the Nunatak shelter, place where we are going to put our rain boots on to cross the peatland zone. The trail runs first on the peatlands and then goes through the forest to end up in the Altura Valley, where the Esmeralda Lagoon is. This old cirque glacier is surrounded by the Bonete Moutnain (1.120 MASL), Pelado (930 MASL) y Domo Blanco (1200 MASL), which has the characteristic of having the ice top.
Behind each fence we reach, the internal tracks that crisscross the estancia lead us further in our exploration of this fantastic area. In our 4x4 we explore Nature, passing beavers’ dams and going into a magical ñires forest through which we glimpse the Atlantic Ocean. We take a medium difficulty hike to reach cliffs that give us splendid sea views. In addition, these cliffs hide coves and beaches whose rocks have been carved by centuries of tides, and offer shelter to a large colony of sea lions and nesting ground to several Andean condors, who often come flying over us during the trip. In the afternoon we return to Ushuaia, taking advantage to stop and visit the Cerro Jeujepén viewpoint, where we have a snack with a magnificent view of Lake Fagnano and the surrounding mountain ranges. 07:00 Pick Up at the hotels. 08:00 Paso Garibaldi. From here is posible to have beautiful panoramic views. We continue on the edge of the Esmeralda River, until we get to the homonymous lagoon that is the collector from the glacier with a green color that gives it the denomination (350 MASL), after a little break, we continue along the lagoon on it East edge. On this part we could see beaver´s dams on a big part of tour, until we get to the limit of the vegetation (600 MASL). From here you will start a simple climb on loose rock of about 30º of average slope. The surrounding slowly becomes to be a mountain landscape where the rocks, snow and ice are the main highlights here. Looking down, the Esmeralda Lagoon becomes a small reference surrounded by the green forest. After surrounding the Paredes Naranjas (Orange Walls), a rock mass of that color, you are going to reach the ancient ice at the bottom of the lagoon Ojo del Albino (Albino´s Eye, 980 Meters Above the Sea Level), located at the end of the glacier, from here you can look at all the majesty from the “Los Andes” Mountains. The glacier in this area is a flat solid ice with cracks and surrounded by dark and sharp peaks. The melt water leads to the Ojo del Albino, where floating icebergs are pretty big. After the lunch time, we are going to start our way back home, through a different way.

Duration: 7 to 9 hours (6 to 8 hours trekking) Season: from November to April. Requirements: this trek is on the medium difficulty (level II). You will need an acceptable health condition according with the difficulties. Distance and slopes: the total length of the trekking is going to be 14 km. with the transportation and the trekking is going to be 40 km total. You will start over 250 meters above the sea level. The glacier is 980 MASL Slope: 730 meters. Departures: every day with a minimum of 4 passengers.

USH 017 – DOG SLEDDING IN TIERRA MAYOR VALLEY (half day) In this excursion you are going to enjoy of a trip through Tierra Mayor Valley, on Siberian Huskies dog sledding. The excursion consist in going to Tierra Mayor, where you are going to enjoy a dog´s sledding through the valley and then you will stop on the shelter to have ahot chocolate and before coming back to Ushuaia, you are going to do a 1 hour and a half walk with snowshoes. Itinerary: The transfer is going to pick you up from your hotel in Ushuaia, to go to Tierra Mayor Valley, where we are going to have a dog´s sledding ride, with the beautiful Siberian Huskies. During our tour, we are going to go through old trails in the lenga´s forest, this trails are going to take us to the Hachero´s shelter where you are going to put on the snowshoes for the second part of this adventure. Once we are ready, the walk until the Helo´s waterfall In the Alvear and the viewpoint of the Valley. The way back to the shelter is going to be faster, since the way is going to be down the hill and there a hot chocolate is going to be waiting for you. Finally we take the way to Tierra Mayor Valley before going back to the hotel in Ushuaia

USH 018 – SNOW IN USHUAIA, NIGHT EXPERIENCE (HALF DAY) This is a nocturnal excursion that combines snowshoeing or snow cat and in the second part, dog sledding. At the beginning of our excursion, a transfer will take you to the Tierra Mayor valley; here is where we are going to walk on snowshoes for around 30 minutes. USH 020 – DIVING IN THE EN OF THE WORLD This is an incredible and unique experience in the deep waters of the famous Beagle Channel. You will have the opportunity of dive in an amazing place, where the water finds the mountains, and you will discover the secrets and the hidden wonders in the seabed. During the excursion you are going to see giant seaweeds, great shipwrecks, jellyfish, crabs, and wonderful surprises that will meet you in the great Beagle Channel. This program can be done all the year, excepting the windy days, where the water is churned and the visibility is not so good. Also, in summertime the amount of plankton in the water decreases the visibility The water is really cold and that is why you need a special equipment to dive in this water which is going to be provided by the guides. The temperatures of the water goes from 2 Cº to 4 Cº on winter and between 8 Cº to 10 Cº in summer. Once you dive in the water of the Beagle Channel, you will find that is like a forest underwater, and is amazing when the sunrays light the depths. The depth reached is around 12 meters.
USH 021 – FISHING IN THE END OF THE WORLD (full day) Enjoy a fishing day in at the End of the World… After choosing carefully the place that you preffer for your fishing day, you are going to be transferred to the lakes zone in a Land Rover Defender, totally equipped. For your comfort, security and fun, you are going to count on a complete equipment of wading, reeds for fly casting or spinning, floats and necessary accessories. Another place highly recommended to dive is the Bridges Island; those islands offer incredible walls and not much depth. Here the more recommended places are Karelo, Canalcito and Iturrieta. Anyone can dive in Ushuaia, from the experts to the beginners. If it´s your first time, we highly recommend that you visit places like Paso Chico, that is located in “Dos Lomos” Island. Is here, 8 meters depth you could see the remains from a sailboat that wrecked during a hard storm. On the highlights of this excursion, you will find the possibility of flora and fauna´s sighting from theBeagle Channel´s place, which is plenty of things to see. Here you will find a specie of seaweeds known as “Cachiyuyo” which has length as a characteristic of their length, because they can reach between 30 and 40 meter, this helps to reduce the swell. Also you might find “Luche” seaweeds, that are red colored and you can eat them. You could see porifera species which lives attached to the bottom like the white and orange sponges, also the anemones which you will found under rocks and the giant jellyfish that are suspended in the water. Also you may find easily: starfishes, urchins, sea cucumbers and many molluscs attached to the rocks as clams and mussels, crab reaching a size of up to one meter in diameter, southern hake and fueguean sardine.
