Thimphu, Gangtey (Phobjikha), Trongsa, Punakha & Paro Brief Itinerary Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air & transfer to Thimphu Day 02: Thimphu – Visit Thimphu Valley, King’s Memorial Chorten, Trashichhoe Dzong, Buddha Point, Government run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts bazaar Day 03: Thimphu – Gangtey (150 kms, approx 5:30 hrs drive). Walk around Gangtey Village and visit Gangtey Gompa Day 04: Gangtey – Trongsa (85km, approx 4 hrs drive). Short stroll around Phobjikha valley then drive to Trongsa. Visit Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong

Day 05: Trongsa – Punakha (130 km, 5 hrs approx). Visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang Day 06: Punakha – Paro (125 kms, 4hr drive) – En route visit Simtokha Dzong. Day 08: After breakfast visit the Ta Dzong (Closed on weekends) and drive Trongsa / Bumthang (68km, approx 3 hours drive) Day 09: Bumthang – After breakfast proceed for the tour of Bhumthang valley visit Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong and afternoon visit to Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery Day 10: Bumthang – Mongar (198 km, 7 hours drive). Visit Mongar Dzong Day 11: Mongar – Trashigang (96 km, 3 hours drive). After lunch visit Trashigang Dzong. Day 12: Trahigang (Excursion to Trashiyangtse). Visit temple of Gom Kora, Trashiyangtse Dzong and Dorten Kora Day 13: Trashigang — SamdrupJongkhar (180 km, 6 hours). Visit Zangtho Pelri Temple, dirve to Khaling to visit the blind scholl and weaving Centre Day 14: Depart SamdrupJongkhar: After breakfast transfer to Bhutan border where you will be picked up by Indian agent for onward

Later, you shall go for option explore Paro twon and valley at you own pace on bicycle Day 04: Paro / Haa valley (70km, approx 3 hours drive). A short walk to Kila Gompa Day 05: Haa valley – Drive to Yotang and explore the towns Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo Day 06: Haa valley / Thimphu (115km, approx 4 hours drive). Bhutan Meditational Tour Brief Itinerary Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air & transfer to Thimphu (55km, approx 1.1/2 hour drive)

On arrival at Paro airport, you will be received by our representative with a “tashi khaddar” (white scarf offering to the guest which is an auspicious way to welcome guest) and transfer to Thimphu

Evening welcome dinner with local family

A welcome ritual and refreshment is followed by a short lecture by a professional Buddhist speaker’

Day 02: Thimphu

Early morning take a short drive (15 km) to Pangri Zampa, Here a special prayer ceremony or Puja ceremony is organized

Lunch followed by a cultural tour of Thimphu

Continue on to National Library, Also visit nearby Institute for Zorig Chusum, Simply Bhutan. Evening visit Trashichhoedzong

Day 03: After breakfast visit National Memorial Chorten. Then drive Thimphu – Gangtey (Phobjikha ) (150km, approx 5hrs drive ). Visit the Gangtey Gompa. Evening interaction with local monks, followed by dinner Day 04: Gangtey / Trongsa / Bumthang (153km, approx 6 hrs drive). Stop en-route at Chendbji Chorten. Visit the Trongsa Dzong. After lunch in Trongsa drive to Bumthang Day 05: Bumthang - After breakfast meditation session at Lhodrak Kharchhu monastery. Visit Kurje

This Project Tiger reserve is now recovering well from earlier unrest – the tiger count is now estimated at around 30, and wild elephant number some 500. At extra cost we can arrange transport from the Bhutan border crossing further east at Samdrup Jongkhar
