T

ibet is the mystical roof of the world, a remote high mountain plateau the size of Western Europe at an average altitude of 4,000m. It is a land of towering

mountains, endless skies and densely forested gorges in which bubble the pristine sources of a number of the world’s major rivers. Tibet has an astonishing 7000 monasteries including the biggest Buddhist monastery in existence. Lhasa, meaning ‘divine place’, is still a vibrant place of pilgrimage for Tibetans from all corners of Tibet, perhaps including Khampa warriors with knives tucked into their waistbands. We’ll give you a chance to see different aspects of Tibet depending on the time you have. From a cultural tour of mystical Lhasa, to visiting rural Tibet and sacred lakes. With more time a visit to Everest Base Camp is possible, and even a pilgrimage to Holy Mount Kailash. • Several days - Discovering Lhasa • One week - add on trips to Shigatse, Gyantse • 10 days or more - Everest Base Camp • 2-3 weeks - Incredible Mount Kailash Kora.
