Everest Explorer Trek From majestic Everest to the mystical valley of Kathmandu, Nepal really is an enchanted country. The Everest Explorer trek takes us from the tiny airstrip at Lukla to the bustling Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, for many hundreds of years the high mountain market for traders from Tibet and Nepal. Following in the footsteps of some of the greatest mountaineers along the traditional expedition route we spend the mornings trekking with an experienced team of local guides reaching our Yeti Mountain Home with plenty of time to chill out and explore the locale. Thame Legendry Flying directly in to the high Khumbu, relish fantastic trekking under the eyes of many of the world’s highest mountains including Sagamartha, Mother Goddess of the Earth (Everest) herself. Thame Legendary takes us from the tiny airstrip at Lukla through the bustling Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar then climbs gently from the madding crowds of the main trail up to mystical Thame. Thame – the ethereal monastery swathed in mists; towering rock faces; glistening mountain spires; juncture of ancient trading routes to Tibet and beyond - the cozy homesteads are home to many of Nepal’s greatest mountaineers, inspiring Sherpa artists and many, many smiling faces. Mustang Region, also known as “The Forbidden Kingdom” is one of the restricted areas of Nepal which lies in the northern central part of Nepal and at the top of the Kali Gandaki River. It is divided into two parts namely the Upper Mustang and the Lower Mustang. Upper Mustang consists of two distinct regions: the southern part and the northern where the languages, culture and traditions are alike to those of the Tibetan people. This area is considered as one of the most interesting and picturesque places in Nepal. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring visitors to this region.

Day 01: Departure from Europe

Day 02: Kathmandu (1300 m)

As the title “Mustang Overland” suggests, this program is done by 4x4 Drive. It is fun filled and at the same time full of adventure. The ultimate destination is Lo-Manthang, the capital of Mustang region. The route entails traveling across desert like landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. It is a land of barley field and pasture where sheep are seen grazing and ponies are used to carry loads. The views of windswept Kali Gandaki Valley, vast spaces around Kagbeni, sprawling ridges and high mountains provide a mind blowing experience for the brave adventurer. Note that the route is off-road one not blacktopped.

Nepal country information and visas: For European, US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand visitors you can either purchase a visa in advance from the Nepalese Embassy in your home country of buy one on arrival at Tribhuvan Airport, Kathmandu. A 30 day visa currently costs $40pp payable in USD or Nepali Rupees. You’ll need a passport photograph.

Autumn / Winter: (October – November) October can be busy, but at this time of year the weather is normally very stable except crisp sunny days and cold evenings.
