Cultural Tours Nepal is one of the most fascinating countries in the world with its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, resplendent pagodas, and spectacular Himalayan ranges with the world's highest peaks. It is a country of ethnic and topographical diversities, rich flora and fauna, adorned with exceptional examples of architecture unlike those found anywhere else on earth. It is no wonder then that this land of diversities and contrasts attracts droves of visitors and has become a major tourist destination in South Asia. Nepal offers connoisseurs of art and culture unlimited scope to observe and study the different aspects of the fine arts in its paintings, sculptures, wood carvings and the unique architecture of the three historic cities of the Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. These are literally studded with innumerable historical monuments, old palaces, palace squares, shrines and temples. Centuries-old traditions are still observed here and, together with the myriad legends that abound, give the country the charisma of a veritable living museum.

SHORT STAY KATHMANDU

BEST OF NEPAL

TASTE OF NEPAL

The Kathmandu Valley is the political and commercial hub of Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 1336m above the sea level and covers an area of 218 sq miles. The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in the Kathmandu valley, the home of the ancient and sophisticated Newari culture. The Newars are the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley.

Make the best of your week in Nepal with an exciting sample of some of the best sights and destinations on offer. Start in the historical squares of Kathmandu with a tour through the local markets and royal palace compounds, then an evening spent in picturesque Nagarkot, nestled on the valley rim. The next morning its off to the steamy jungles of Chitwan for an epic encounter with the asian elephant, onehorned rhino, and the rare and majestic bengal tiger if you're lucky, then on to a day in the laid back lakeside resort city of Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu for an easy departure.

This tour is devised to suit the budget of all travellers from young children to adults in order to give them a real taste of Nepal’s diverse pleasures within a short time frame. We have well-trained tour leaders and experienced ancillary staff members to take our guests to all the interesting hotspots of the trip.

The focal point of this short tour is the Kathmandu Valley, which will give visitors an in-depth look at the history and culture of the region. In effect one can walk back through the corridors of time by examining the unique architecture, wood craft and artwork of the Newars. Fine examples of these can be seen in the mediaeval city of Bhaktapur, a few miles outside Kathmandu proper. Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

LANGTANG

MUSTANG

LANGTANG VALLEY TREK

UPPER MUSTANG TREK

Beginning on the banks of the Trishuli river, we make a gradual ascent along the Langtang Valley, a journey through a pastoral terrain home to fascinating Tamang and Sherpa settlements accented by the snowy peaks of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, and Manaslu on the horizon. Enjoy the Tibetan style houses and monasteries around Langtang Village, and explore the cheese factory and incredible glacial moraines not far from Kyanjin Gompa, a charming settlement and impressive monastery nestled among scenic hillsides and stunning peaks. We’ll have time to explore the fascinating glacial walls around the valley and ascend to Tserko Ri (5000m) for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Langtang region.

Mustang is one of Nepal’s lesser-traveled regions, a stark and barren landscape of windswept plains and sandstone pillars. A land shrouded in mystery, home to the ancient kingdom of Lo, the Tibetan-Buddhist culture in this region has remained largely untouched by the outside world. Bordering the Tibetan Plateau in Nepal’s rain shadow area, the terrain in this region is in stark contrast to the lush jungles and alpine foothills of Nepal’s interior – a forbidding desert landscape of earth tones and eroded rock formations, of desolate vistas echoing with howling wind. The trail begins at the Medieval city of Kagbeni, from where our journey will take us through a haunting landscape punctuated by truly unique settlements to the ancient walled capital city of Lo Manthang. This trip offer visits to authentic Tibetan villages - unspoiled and utterly unique in their remoteness – where cave-dwelling people and amazing examples of ancient Tibetan arts can be found. Trekking in Mustang is a chance to view unspoiled Tibetan culture in a landscape that is truly like no other.

MANASLU

DOLPO

MANASLU CIRCUIT TREK

LOWER DOLPO TREK

The Manaslu circuit is beautiful trek which will one day replace the Annapurna circuit as Nepal’s best all round trek. We start low, following a lush river gorge passing small Hindu villages crossing rickety bridges. Heading northwards, the valley opens up to reveal delightful alpine meadows and small Tibetan-style villages which cluster beneath Manaslu’s astonishingly photogenic sweeping North Face which makes this trek like no other.

Behind the Dhaulagiri massif on the west side of the Kali Gandaki valley lies one of Nepal’s most isolated and wild regions. This journey will take us passed ancient monasteries and remote villages to the beautifully serene Phoksundolake. Dolpo is home to rare wildlife like the elusive snow leopard and blue mountain sheep, and inhabitants who practice an ancient Tibetan religion called Bon Po. This is a trek for the serious adventurer who yearns to get off the beaten path and explore the real wilderness Nepal has to offer. With three high passes over 5000 meters, we recommend that trekkers be prepared for a physical challenge. Trekking in the mysterious Dolpo region will surely reward you – an experience like no other on the planet – in a region that was only opened to foreigners in 1982, the pristine and wild appeal of this region will leave you enthralled.

We’ll visit Manaslu’s Base Camp from here and later walk to the Tibetan border. The trek is not extremely strenuous, though the crossing the 5135m Larkye La Pass will challenge all who attempt it – but we’ll be well rewarded with a most memorable view along the backbone of the Himalayas. The Manaslu circuit can be done as a tea-house trek which means we get to experience more of local life. All in all it is a gem of a trek and worth doing sooner than later before the secret gets out.
