Spalled Joint Repair (Severe Up to 4” in Width) Using Dry Sand With SpecPoxy CJ

Existing Condition: severely spalled joint up to max 4” in width.

Step One: Saw cut straight down 3/4”deep behind spalled edges using concrete saw.

Step Two: Remove any high spots between new saw cut edges and existing joint with chisel or similar tool to establish shelf. Vacuum clean.

3/4” SpecPoxy CJ 1:1 ratio with silica sand

Step Three: Slightly overfill newly created channel with sand modified SpecPoxy CJ Epoxy Joint Filler. Mix SpecPoxy CJ neat for 2-3 minutes then add clean, dry silica sand gradually 1 to 1 ratio by volume to make an epoxy mortar.

Step Four: After SpecPoxy CJ cures into solid (approx. 6-8 hours at 70 o F) grind off overfill until mortar is flush with floor surface using ZEC pad or similar grinding disc.
