What is the most popular tube length and why? 22' gives contractors the biggest screeding span. What length tubes should we stock? 22', 18', 16' and 12' are good sizes to stock. What is the advantage of a roller screed over a vibe screed? A roller screed produces flatter concrete due to screeding off forms or a screed support system. It keeps aggregate higher, producing stronger concrete and less flaking in the future. How long will the batteries last under normal conditions? 4 18v 5.0ah batteries will pour out 150 yards at 4" in most cases. How fast do the batteries charge? 2 18v 5.0ah batteries range from 30-40 minute charge time. How many batteries does it come with? Spin Screed Battery unit comes 4 18v 5.0ah batteries, dual charger, and carrying case. Is the battery model or the corded model more popular? The battery unit has taken over as the most popular. Why do people buy the corded version over the battery style? Contractors will buy corded over the battery if they have generators on site all the time or just do not trust the batteries. Up-sell opportunity would be the versatility of the battery unit. Who are the competitors of the Spin Screed? Curb RollerÂŽ, Batt Screed How are we priced compared to the competitors? Currently we are a lower price option. What is the warranty of both the battery and the corded version? All Spin Screed tools are warranted to be free from defective materials and workmanship. Our liability under all warranties, express or implied, shall be limited to the replacement or repair of defective products. Both the corded and battery drills are warrantied through Makita (details through Makita service centers). What problems/complaints have we seen with these units so far? There is no kickstand to keep it out of the concrete.
Where do we go for service if needed? Makita service centers or online service. What are the basic items I need to buy to have a fully functional spin screed? The battery and corded unit come with all the necessary items to screed, the only item not included is pipe. What is included with a power unit? Battery unit (includes battery unit, dead end t-handle, set of live/dead ends, impact socket adapter, 4 18v 5.0ah batteries, dual charger and carrying case. How do these ship? All products under 10' can be shipped UPS, items over 10' will ship LTL. What items do you recommend the end user has extra of just in case? Impact socket adapter, set of live/dead ends, extra batteries and charger. Can you hook 2 tubes together to extend the length? No, however there are contractors that do find a way to do that. (Caution: over working the drill and deflection on lengths longer than 22') What is the longest tube you can run with the Spin Screed? Spin Screed tube lengths are available from 4'-22' in even number length increments. Do you need 2 power heads for the longer tubes? If so, at what length and above do you recommend 2 power heads? No, we do not recommend 2 units on one tube. What material is the tube? Tubing is 4" schedule 40 seamless aluminum. What is the diameter of the tube? Inside diameter is 4", outside diameter is approximately 4.5" Are all repair parts available? Yes. Are all parts available to purchase separately? Yes. How many amps is the corded Spin Screed motor? 10 amps Can any Makita service center repair the power head? Yes. Is the motor brushless?
