IMPROVEMENTS
The custom home, featuring 4,588± square feet, has a design ethic that suggests a Scandinavian-style influence with its neutral palette, clean, open interior spaces, use of natural materials, and abundant natural light streaming in from every direction.
The 3-level home is comfortable and offers easy, modern livability. The main floor is open and spacious throughout the kitchen and living area. The master bedroom and en suite bath are on the main floor, as is the laundry. The upper level has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and bright windows looking out over the prairie. The lower-level basement offers plenty of living space that is ready for a final design and decor.
An attached, oversized, 3-car garage offers 1,134± square feet of space for cars and storage.
Consistent with the home’s well-planned, comfortable living areas, the choice of building materials and construction techniques further reflect the overall thoughtful approach to this quality home. Layers of innovation are evident throughout.
The home is built with engineered Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) by Fox Blocks. ICF construction results in double-insulated, steel-reinforced concrete walls that, when finished, are about a foot (12”) thick. ICF construction creates a sturdy structure that endures severe weather, dampens wind and other noise, creates a comfortable indoor climate, and provides energy savings for the lifetime of the home.
Energy-efficient innovation is seen, for instance, in the polished concrete floors, which remarkably are on every level of the home. The concrete provides thermal mass, which stabilizes the comfort level of the house but also is equipped with both radiant heating and low-energy, passive cooling. The passive, flow-through cooling system takes advantage of the water being circulated to the lawn sprinklers or the drip-line irrigation system. Water can either be run continuously or on a timer.
IMPROVEMENTS CONTINUED
Other energy-efficient innovations include a solar power system tied to the power grid producing 1.1 megawatts per month. This grid-tied solar array has 20 solar panels that feed excess energy back to the power grid that typically offset the monthly electrical usage bill. This system can be monitored by the mobile Enphase App, which allows monitoring of the system as a whole and monitoring each panel to optimize power production. In addition to this array, the home has a solar battery backup system that has enough energy to power essential functions such as heat, water, and internet if the power goes out.
Hot water is produced by a high-efficiency Westinghouse 199K BTU liquid propane (LP) combination boiler. This boiler is an advanced modulating condensing gas boiler which is a technology that increases combustion efficiency. It has a 95.1% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating to provide in-floor heating and endless hot water while saving energy. Hot water has been plentiful for the entire family at the current setting of 70% of maximum BTUs available.
For work-at-home employment or at-home schooling, Mountain West Technologies Corporation provides the current wireless internet service. Various internet packages are available.
For livestock, the property has a 532± square foot loafing shed that shelters the family horses, goats, and chickens. A building site for an additional barn has been prepped with a gravel pad, connections to water and septic, and an additional 200 amp electrical service. The site currently can be used as an RV hookup.

A private well, permitted as #P204710.0W, was completed in February 2016. The well, as drilled, is 140 feet deep with a static water level of 80 feet below the land surface. A 3/4 horsepower submersible pump is installed at 110 feet depth with a permitted production of 10 gallons per minute (GPM).
The home has a US Water Defender whole house 6000 gallons per day (GPD) Reverse Osmosis water filtration system. It has a 500-gallon atmospheric preheat storage tank and a 250-gallon storage tank for treated water. The system supplies consistent pressure up to 65 psi to all taps via a Grundfos pressure boosting pump.
