LOCATION

Located approximately 16 miles north of Denali National Park and Preserve, just over 100 miles south of Fairbanks, and just over 250 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska.

GETTING THERE

Guest can fly into Fairbanks or Anchorage, rent a car, and drive year-round to the lodge. There is a fourmile paved road from Highway 3. Follow Highway 3 to Stampede Road, where you will take a left from Anchorage or a right from Fairbanks. Follow for four miles and arrive at Earthsong Lodge on the righthand side.

AIRPORT SERVICES

Located 261 miles south of EarthSong Lodge is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Located 110 miles north of EarthSong Lodge is Fairbanks International Airport. Guests can also fly direct to the Healy River Airport. The airport is state-owned and for public use. It has an asphalt runway measuring 2,912 x 60 feet.

AREA HISTORY

Healy is located on Spur Road about 11 miles north of the entrance leading to Denali National Park and Preserve. It was initially established as a coal mining town in the early 1900s, and many of Healy’s residents still earn a living from the nearby Usibelli Coal Mine. The mine supplies 800,000 tons of coal annually to The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Golden Valley Electric, and South Korea.

Tourism is the second largest industry in this small town of approximately 1,000 people. Healy offers a range of accommodations, a brewery, a grocery store, and activities for park visitors and is a full-service year-round community.

CLIMATE

Summers are quite pleasant in Healy, Alaska, and perfect for those looking to get outdoors. Temperatures can range from the 30s to the 80s but are typically in the 60s and average 155 days of sunshine annually. Rainfall is minimal, with about 15 inches per year, though the area gets about 87 inches of snowfall annually.

WATER SOURCES | WATER RIGHTS

• The well pump is at 270 feet

• The permafrost layer is 210 feet

• The static water level is approximately 170 feet

The well has heat trace on the well casing, and the waterline from the well house to the lodge is 100+ feet distance, according to code. The water goes through two treatment systems (salt tank and peroxide tank) to eliminate iron, manganese, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur. There is one two-horsepower well pump with pitless adapters set up. There is also an additional tank set up to expand peroxide treatment systems. The lodge water is considered very good quality for our area. There is no public water or sewer utility access anywhere in the Denali area.

MINERAL RIGHTS

The State of Alaska has retained all mineral rights in this area. Mineral rights are not guaranteed. It is suggested that the Buyer conduct a mineral search with a title company.
