Although it is an equal distance from Sisters and Terrebonne, Heart Lake Ranch shares a climate that resembles Terrebonne due to its similar elevation. Terrebonne is one of the milder climates in Central Oregon, with average summertime temperatures of 85± degrees Fahrenheit and winter averages of around 40± degrees Fahrenheit. Average rainfall is 10± inches per year; another 14± inches of snowfall should be expected. LOCATION

Heart Lake Ranch is an equal distance between Sisters and Terrebonne on a quiet road that few know about. Terrebonne is the most northern community in Deschutes County and has some of the lowest elevations in Deschutes County (2,800± feet), thus making it slightly warmer and longer growing season. The unincorporated community has basic needs for the average property owner (groceries, hardware, gas, and dining). It is known for being the gateway to the world-famous Smith Rock State Park. Smith Rock is world renowned for the rock climbing of the large rock formations that jut high into the air. Views of Smith Rocks are unique in the West and are visited by many sightseers.

The rights allow beneficial use of the water between March 1 and October 3.

Under Oregon law, all water is publicly owned.
