There is a definite four-season climate, but the area is semi-arid, with total precipitation of 10.67 inches per year and 8 inches of snowfall, on average, per year. Summer temperatures in July average 86 degrees with comfortable, cool nights. The winter temperatures average around 41 degrees, with the coldest month being January. With 300± days of sunshine a year, Prineville and the surrounding areas have a very comfortable climate.
