AREA HISTORY Republic, Washington, was initially established as a gold mining and logging community. With a thriving atmosphere and responsible forest owners such as the Storm King Ranch, the timber industry is still one of the community’s leading employers and vital economic factors today. Nearly four million ounces of gold have been mined in the Republic area since the late 1800s. During the town’s incorporation in 1900, the citizens chose the name “Republic” after the Great Republic Mining Claim, which was the highest producer of gold at that time. www.fayranches.com | (800) 238.8616 | info@fayranches.com
