The Entiat unit (GMU 247) is known for great mule deer hunting. The mule deer habitat is rich with mountainous terrain, rugged hillsides, and timbered draws that create a challenging yet rewarding hunting experience for those who are successful. Other big game, such as bear and cougar, can be found in the mountains of Entiat. Big horn sheep are abundant near the town of Entiat and Wenatchee, just south of the Stormy Lodge.
Only above the Entiat River Falls are you allowed to fish on the Entiat River, as it is a Salmon Recovery Zone and protected from fishing for the foreseeable future. However, at the mouth of the Entiat is the Columbia River which has many year-round fisheries and seasonal salmon and steelhead opportunities as well. The Stormy Lodge pond has been stocked with fish in the past and still has some visible today. With a little work, this pond could hold many more fish with some added habitat and structure for protection from predators.
