AREA HISTORY Taos boasts a rich and colorful history that spans centuries. The area’s history can be traced back to the indigenous Taos Pueblo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States, with roots dating over a thousand years. European contact with Taos began in the early 17th century when Spanish explorers and settlers arrived in the region. With its distinctive adobe architecture, the Taos Pueblo became a focal point of Spanish colonial influence, although the Taos people resisted Spanish control. In the 19th century, Taos played a significant role in the Santa Fe Trail trade route, attracting traders and pioneers. During this time, the Taos region was also a hub for fur trappers and mountain men, including the famous Kit Carson. The Taos Revolt of 1847, also known as the Taos Rebellion, was a significant event during the Mexican-American War when local Mexican and Puebloan residents rebelled against American forces. Later, Taos became an important center for artists and writers, with luminaries such as Georgia O’Keeffe and D.H. Lawrence finding inspiration in its rugged beauty. Today, Taos is a unique blend of Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and Anglo cultures, celebrated for its art, culture, and stunning natural surroundings. www.fayranches.com | (800) 238.8616 | info@fayranches.com

SUMMARY Vista 360 offers the opportunity to acquire a premier building parcel in a prime location experiencing high demand. The recent purchase of Taos Ski Valley and its conversion to a high-end resort has enhanced the desirability of this location. The proximity to Taos is also a major attribute. There are very few large building parcels in the area due to the lack of privately held land. There are few impediments to creating a wonderful estate on this property that will continue to increase in value as demand in the area outpaces the availability of parcels like this.
