Semen Interest BROOKING ANGUS RANCH IS RETAINING ONE-THIRD REVENUE SHARING SEMEN INTEREST IN EVERY BULL SELLING IN THIS SALE.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our fifth annual bull sale. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers who have supported us and invested into our genetics over the previous year’s. It has been humbling to witness the success stories many of our customers have enjoyed over the past year. For us, there is no better reward then when a customer tells us their steers averaged 50 lbs heavier using Brooking bulls, they topped the market, or they have never had such high quality replacement females. Our customers success motivates us to produce the type of cattle that they demand. We have made great strides in the quality of bulls we have on offer this year. They are deeper in quality with many options available with calving ease and performance at the highest of priorities. The initial calf crop of Bank Note sons have established a higher level to the set standard. Bank Note semen has been in demand worldwide and the proof of his production is evident in these first sons to sell. There are also 11 ET sons from our featured donors that definitely add more elite genetics to the sale. At Brooking Angus Ranch we have an unwavering commitment to supply the commercial and purebred industry with Angus genetics that are of the utmost quality that meet our goals and yours. We know to earn and maintain your customer support we have to supply you with bulls that are not only genetically superior but also managed wisely for longevity and profitability. We have chosen a new direction on how to manage the bulls. We weaned a little later this year and had the bulls along with their mothers graze a cocktail blend acquiring a steady gain through a forage source for 45 days before weaning. The bulls were then weaned in a corral for about a week and then returned to pasture until mid December where they were supplemented with a high roughage TMR ration consisting of crested wheat/alfalfa hay, barley silage, brown oats and a protein/rumensin/mineral/vitamin pellet. The ration was balanced to achieve a 3.3 lb adg. The bulls have been in one large contemporary group from June until mid December where they are then sorted into two pens where they are housed until sale time. We are proud of the bull offering and maybe even more proud of our cowherd. We would love to show you them at anytime. If we can be of assistance in any way feel free to stop in at the ranch or contact us anytime. Please take this as a personal invitation to attend our bull sale and we look forward seeing you sale day.

Brooking Bank Note 4040 was our high selling bull at $125,000 in our 2015 sale going to Rust Mountain View Ranch, Labatte Farms, Oberle Circle 7 and Canadian Sires. In his initial calf crop his progeny are exceeding the high expectations of him by consistently transmitting low birth weights, heavy weaning weights, high quality phenotype, body depth, visual muscle shape and all combined in an attractive design. The dam of Bank Note is well known and has been defined as an ideal Angus female. We love her kind and you can see her high quality attributes in the Bank Note progeny. Bank Note has positively impacted our herd and we are excited for what lies ahead.

Recommended for heifers. Brooking Firebrand 6068 is a milestone achievement for us here at Brooking. He combines many generations of our genetic selection and is the highlight son of the $125,000 Brooking Bank Note 4040. He is an absolute standout with an abundance of thickness, testicle development, muscle and dimension. He is unique how he combines this with a very erect front, clean neck and chest. He carries this same attention while on the move. He has a herdbull head and character about him that has grabbed the attention by many visitors and has been admired since birth. His maternal lineage needs no introduction as the Annie K cow family has been highly decorated. His heavy milking dam is moderate framed, deep ribbed, nice uddered with a very attractive design. The grandmother was Supreme Champion Female at Agribition in 2011 and the third dam won Agribition as a two year old and was most noted for being the World Angus Forum Champion Female. Brooking Firebrand 6068 has the individually quality, elite pedigree and cow family, performance and EPD’s to be one of the most in demand features of the spring sale season.

Recommended for heifers. Brooking Trendspotter 6166 is just an end of March born herdsire candidate. He is the first bull calf Annie K 9165 has had and he is in the big-league category. We love his huge rib dimension, deep flank, big hip, great hair, good foot and herdsire attractive design. His dam is the 2011 RBC Supreme Champion female at Agribition. Annie K 9165 is a heavy milking, good uddered and attractive production factory. Daughters have sold to Sunrise Angus, Rancho Buenavista, Lynn Ewald, Pinehurst Angus and DBL Inc. The grandam is most noted for winning the World Angus Forum in 2009 where she was admired by many.

Recommended for heifers. One of our favourites in the sale. Brooking Convoy 6054 is a square hipped, well made and thick herdsire prospect with an ideal Angus character head. His Harvester dam is a heavy milking full sister to the $30,000 high selling female in our 2013 sale. The grandam is none other than our highest income cow TLA Beauty 6R. The dam is a full sister to the $20,000 Brooking Deja Vu that sold to Windy Hill Livestock and Garnet Marin as well as the Genex sire, Werner EA Motivation. Recommended for heifers. We love how consistent all of these Bank Note sons are. They all are deep ribbed, muscular, attractive and have jet black, good hair. Brooking Principal 6039 is no exception showing all these consistent characteristics. The dam is one of the best Kodiak daughters we have and looks like a mirror image of her dam.

Recommended for heifers. A highlight of this years offering. Brooking Real Estate 6072 is a pleasure to witness as he is huge ribbed, square hipped, holds his head high on the move and is clean through his neck and chest. He has a calving ease look with his small head and smooth shoulders. He looks a lot like his high phenotype dam, Soo Line Rose 1019, who has gained huge popularity among breeders worldwide. Her only embryos to sell at auction brought $4,000 per embryo to KCH. The grandam, EA Rose 918, is also the dam to the great $125,000 Brooking Bank Note 4040. She has been regarded as one of the best Final Answer daughters in existence.

Here is a dominating son of one of the breeds most popular sires, the $175,000 SAV Renown 3439. Brooking Limelight 6022 has the power, outlier thickness, huge rib, testicle development, muscle shape and length of body to be a leading herdsire choice. He is the kind of bull that can take a program to a new level. More importantly his dam is moderate framed, level hipped and has a high quality phenotype. She is from the famous Emblynette cow family and was a $37,500 selection as a top selling heifer from the 2015 Schaff Angus Valley sale. Brooking Limelight 6022 will grab your attention and is backed by some of the best genetics in the business.

A rare opportunity to acquire a direct son of the great Dameron First Class. Dameron First Class semen is rare and valuable and has brought up to $16,500 a straw. Brooking Gucci 6018 is powerful, long, has extreme thickness, great hair, big bone and is sound on the move. His dam is level hipped, angular fronted, clean chested, deep flanked, great haired and was a $37,500 selection from Schaff Angus Valley. A standout herdbull candidate that is as solid made as you can make them. He is nice headed, good footed, and has that extra muscle shape. I love his dam and she has possibly one of my favourite calves on the ground this spring. Brooking Beauty 4033 is a full sister to our high selling female in 2014 for $25,000 to Come As U R. The grandam is our highest income cow on the ranch and consistently raises top sellers and the popular kind.

Brooking Pride 6043 is a thick, heavy-muscled, meat-wagon that is well made to add to his top credentials. His sire was the $400,000 high selling bull at Schaffs. We really like our first International daughters that are calving this spring. The dam of 6043 is huge bodied and is easy fleshing from the famous Madame Pride cow family that started the Madame Pride legacy at Ellington Angus and Schaff Angus Valley.

The second youngest bull in the sale but offers plenty of performance and production value. He is sired by the $275,000 valued performance king, SAV Harvester 0338. He started with a modest birth weight of 84lbs and pushed the scale to a whopping 819lbs at weaning. His dam is a beautiful, nice uddered and easy-doing female. She is the kind you want a whole herd of.

SAV Resource 1441 is the #1 semen revenue bull at Genex AI stud. He has gained worldwide attention because of his ability to sire easy-fleshing, muscular, masculine, superb structure and impressive progeny. The sons we have sold in the past continue to develop and become more impressive than they were at the sale. The sons hold their condition through breeding season and the daughters get better every day that passes and have really produced. Some of our favourite calves are out of Resource progeny.

This is the identical mating that produced Brooking Black Ink 4019. They both share very similar characteristics of being masculine, heavy muscled, long spined and the easy keeping profitable kind. Recommended for heifers. A pair of full brothers that are peas in a pod in terms of type and kind. They both are long bodied, long fronted and clean made. Most importantly they share the same influential dam, TLA Beauty 6R. Beauty 6R is our highest income cow with 50 progeny registered and we have several more on the ground this year. She consistently raises the right kind no matter what paternal lineage is used. A full sister to these bulls was raised and shown successfully by Payne Angus this past fall and won at every show she attended. More importantly she was admired by many of the astute cattleman in the business.
