Truly Modern

Hey Dude is the Modern American Brahman. Visually, he immediately stands out for his power. He has massive bone, is huge ribbed, big topped, and has a hip and quarter that’ll blow you away. Plus, he’s perfect footed, sound built, and has absolutely no roll whatsoever to any of his lower joints. This bull showcases BRC’s mastery of breeding stout cattle with a stylish look, while maintaining perfect structure, pushing the edge on fertility and improving functionality. This bull answers the call brought forward by many breeders worldwide searching for a sensibly sized bull to moderate frame yet increase quality, improve structure, and produce more beef for the global consumer. He has everything needed to be a world-famous AI sire.

The Right Kind of Performance 118 will improve weaning and yearling performance the right way: by making cattle wider, deeper, and more muscular. He passed a fertility test at 14 months. He ranks in the top 5% of the breed for growth, top 3% for docility, and is top 10% or better for maternal, CW, REA, and marbling.

Iconic Ancestry

42:

That’s the number of ancestors in his 5 generation pedigree that were Vanguard, Maternal Merit, or Register of Renown. Noble, Elmo, Lawford, Powerstroke, Charley, Gotham, JDH Lady Ellis, 100/7, 510/6, 98/6, Pittman, Jennessa, and Claydesta line his lineage. A pedigree of such notoriety equals breeding confidence. Built for today’s beef industry in his look, lineage, and genetic predictors. Entered for Cattlemans Congress in OKC.

people weren’t wrong when they loved this picture of Stockman on Instagram. The breeders who’ve inquired about Stockman are the world’s elite who put their merit in valuable beef production assets and don’t get blinded by the fluff and bluff of some of today’s current marketing facades. This picture of Stockman was taken on a camera phone, from the back of our ATV and it shows how “real” BRC bulls are.

DEC

14 DVAUCTION

Stout, rugged, masculine, and sound. Stockman excels at function, production, and convenience traits - good udders, good feet, calf vigor - things that are designed to help ranchers save time, labor, and “extra work” in a cattle enterprise. He’s good footed, long strided, and naturally very easy fleshing. He’s tremendously muscular, masculine, and moderate sized with the look of high end seedstock. He is excellent in his scrotal circumference, hoof shape, and masculinity: Stockman will work on the global cowherd to make better cattle.

Pounds Pay

At the most basic level, more pounds = more profit for ranchers no matter if you sell at In The Cattle Business! weaning, yearling, or even retain ownership through the carcass phase. Stockman was born unassisted in the low 80’s, weaned at nearly 600 lbs, and smashed down the scales at over 1000lbs as a yearling - all while being developed in our standard bull development protocol of grass pastures and a Purina Accuration (i.e. no show feed.) He’s doing what real world bulls should do and thus what you would expect his calves to do, especially considering his EPD values are genomically enhanced to add further genetic confidence.

A Touch of Outcross

Stockman is backed by ancestors of solid growth and solid maternal quality. His sire is 510/7, a bull we always admired before he went to Colombia and a bull who’s made cattle that were consistent in terms of bone, muscle and growth in the BRC program. The dam is a phenomenal Elmo daughter that we acquired in the Southern deal. When Southern was starting their Brahman program in the early 2010s they were buying the best Brahman females money could buy. Pearl was one of the picks of the entire Locke Division calf crop at the same time of other greats like JDH 412 and JDH 477. Pearl has excelled since she joined the BRC herd - raising a herd bull for the Rockin P Ranch (Bill Phillips), a top heifer for the Ronald Holley family that was the first pick out of our private treaty group in 2020, and now Stockman. Take advantage of the opportunity to outcross with Stockman and add the proven traits that will beef up any operation.

Completeness Accomplished

BRC is strategically and decisively leading the Brahman breed in producing bulls that fit what the beef industry wants. We’ve got over a decade of consistently stamping out moderate, easy keeping, high performing bulls like Aggie 108. Industry experts have said it for years, and by now most Brahman breeders are finally admitting that Brahman cattle in the USA have gotten a pinch bigger framed than ideal and it’s time to reduce frame scores and make the cattle easier doing. Since we consistently attend events like the TAMU Beef Cattle Short Course and the Beef Improvement Federation, we’ve been working on this for over a decade and we’re ahead of the curve. That - along with being the only ranch offering genomically enhanced EPDs and focusing on carcass quality has put BRC in the drivers seat for leading the Brahman bull market.

Bred for A Time Such As This

DEC

14 DVAUCTION

Aggie 108 is a bull to help seedstock Brahman breeders worldwide moderate size and improve hard doing females. Or, he’s the dream bull breed to Angus or Hereford females to raise cream of the crop F-1 halfbloods. He’s moderate sized, extra high volume, and built for longevity and fleshing ability. His daughters should hold together with less feed, require less management and produce more outputs - all meaning better profits and less headache for the smart ranchers who use this bull.

Swanky Meets Sensible Aggie’s got an air about him that defines Brahman dignity, and rightfully so. A son of the three-time Houston champion 146/8 and out of Annie’s big time 636/7 donor, he’s bred with class. His full brother BRC Jumanji 67 has racked up his share of banners over the last show season and another brother, BRC Walker Texas Ranger 77 was an International Class Winner in 2021. He’s got the swagger. Now the sensibility part. Born 65 pounds at birth then he exploded to over 900 pounds as a yearling - all on grass and Purina Accuration. A crossbreeding dream. Gentle. Ranks in the top 10% of the breed for weaning weight, yearling weight, total maternal, plus top 5% for yearling weight, carcass weight, and ribeye area. This mating has also consistently turned out bulls that scan at the top of the business for %IMF. Whether purebreeding or crossbreeding, Aggie rises to the top of the pack in all areas...just like most Aggies in real life too. (Had to throw that plug in for dear ol’ TAMU).

The BRC Donor Program It takes a lot to make donor status at BRC.

DEC

At BRC ,we view IVF and embryo transfer as a tool to propagate SUPERIOR animals. As hard as it is to admit sometimes, not every cow deserves to be flushed: no matter how many shows she may have won, what her pedigree is, or how much she may have cost. We encourage breeders to adopt a similar policy in their own herds, so that the breed can truly put its best genetics forward to the global beef herd, and especially to new breeders just getting into the Brahman family.

To qualify as a donor at BRC, a cow must: • Have perfect feet and legs • Display excellent conformation with no glaring defects visually • Have one natural calf before 3 years of age • First calf must be above average in quality • Have an excellent udder • Be a good mother, like her calf, be attentive • Raise a healthy thriving calf with little to no assistance

We could write a book about the accomplishments of 100/7, but for the sake of time we will keep it short and sweet. One of the all-time most iconic polled cows in Brahman history, out of the 510/6 female which makes her a maternal sib to both 279/7 and 794/7. As a show heifer, she made her mark by being the only polled grey Brahman female in history to be a national champion. She really made her impact in production, most notably, raising the immortal and all time great Mr. V8 458/7 Noble, Polled Phenom and most recently BRC Tugboat Captain 125 who was the high selling lot in our spring internet sale and gained a lot of interest early on. So, it did not take long for her to find her way into the Register of Renown. She’s sired by 675/6, a unique bull who didn’t get used a ton but we sure liked, and out of one of our all time favorite cow families that starts with 341/7, who was a daughter of the great Pittman cow, who herself was a direct daughter of the great Jennessa cow who coined the name Granny around here and had a serious impact on the cows that built BRC.
