We are excited
to welcome you to our very first production registered female sale since 2003, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share this special day with you. As many of you know, our ranch has grown tremendously over the years, and we are proud to say that we are now the largest Brangus breeder in the country. This milestone allows us to offer registered females in a standalone sale, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
Over the years, we have dedicated ourselves to developing a herd with balanced genetics. We’ve focused on refining our EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences) using unified growth, ensuring that we aren’t just targeting one EPD at a time, but rather building a well-rounded genetic base. At the same time, we’ve put tremendous effort into selecting for phenotype, as we know the visual appeal of the cattle is just as important as the numbers behind them.
We feel that we’ve now reached a genetic base that embodies the EPDs we’ve been striving for, while also maintaining the eye-pleasing phenotype that adds value to any operation. Our hope is that this sale will provide fellow registered breeders with females that can help develop their own herds—whether it be through EPDs, phenotype, or a balanced combination of both.
In selecting the cattle for this sale, we worked closely with respected outside consultants. Together, we went through 250 bred two-year-old heifers and narrowed it down to 50 to form a unified group. From that group, we will offer 35 based on a comprehensive evaluation of phenotype, EPDs, and pregnancy status. We have also hand-selected 15 pairs to add to the front and back end of the sale. The fall pairs may in fact be 3-in-1 packages come sale date. This process has allowed us to ensure that we are offering the very best of our herd.
Thank you again for your interest in our cattle and for supporting our ranch. We are excited about the potential of these animals to help grow and improve your own herds. If you have any questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.
We hope you find the perfect additions to your herd today and look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.

At the core of our breeding strategy is a carefully designed, annual process that ensures we select the best possible sires for our herd. This process is a critical element in maintaining the superior genetics that define our cattle and, by extension, the success of your program. Each year, we make intentional decisions on sire selection based on a combination of performance data, genetic compatibility, and long-term goals for both our operation and yours.
The annual sire selection process integrates several key factors to optimize the genetic potential of our herd:
• EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences): We rely heavily on EPDs to evaluate the genetic potential of each sire. These data points guide our decision-making by helping us select sires with desirable traits such as growth, reproductive efficiency, carcass quality, and overall performance. The result is a bull that is genetically superior, capable of producing offspring that meet high industry standards.
• Past Matings: We don’t rely on theory alone. The results of past matings are vital in our selection process. By reviewing how previous matings have performed, we can identify which sires have consistently produced desirable offspring and focus on those that bring continued improvement to our herd’s genetic base.
• Current Genetic Base and Resources: The genetic base of our cow herd is also an important consideration. We assess the strengths and potential areas for improvement in our current herd, allowing us to select sires that complement and enhance the existing genetics while addressing any gaps. This ensures that we are constantly improving and advancing our herd's overall genetic makeup.
As a result of this meticulous approach, we are able to produce a product that generate not only a profitable product but also provide you with the opportunity to incorporate high-quality replacement females into your own program. The cattle we produce are designed to thrive in various production environments, contributing to your long-term success and profitability.
By combining data-driven sire selection with a focus on producing well-rounded cattle, we are proud to offer you genetics that will improve your herd’s productivity, performance, and overall value. Let us help you elevate your program with cattle that are built for success.

Here’s your chance to stay at home and bid and buy in the comforts of your home.
EPDs provide an estimate of the genetic value of one animal compared to another animal in a defined population (i.e. Brangus). EPDs predict how future progeny of a sire are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other sires regardless of age or location of herd/animal. EPDs are calculated using statistical equations including performance data on the animal itself (actual weight records), actual performance data compared against contemporaries (contemporary ratio), information from its ancestry (sire, dam, grandsire, granddam, etc.), indirect relatives (brothers, sisters), direct progeny, and genetic testing.
CALVING EASE DIRECT (CED) is the difference in percentage of unassisted births when a sire is bred to firstcalf heifers when compared to progeny of other sires. A higher number is desirable.
BIRTH WEIGHT (BW) is reported in pounds as the difference in average birth weight of progeny compared to that of other sires.
WEANING WEIGHT (WW) is reported in pounds and predicts the difference in weight of progeny averaged at 205-days of age to calves of other sires.
YEARLING WEIGHT (YW) is reported in pounds and predicts the difference in weight of progeny averaged at 365-days of age to calves of other sires.
MILK (M) predicts the genetic merit for milking ability as expressed in daughters compared to daughters of other sires. Milk accounts for the part of a calf’s weaning weight attributed to milking ability of the dam.
TOTAL MATERNAL (TM) is reported in pounds as a reflection of a sire’s daughters milking ability and growth potential of their calves when compared to other sire’s daughters. It is equal to the Milk EPD plus one half of the WW EPD.
CALVING EASE MATERNAL (CEM) is the difference in percentage of unassisted births of a sire’s daughters as first-calf heifers when compared to daughters of other sires. A higher number is desirable.
SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCE (SC) is reported in centimeters and predicts the difference in yearling scrotal circumference of a bull’s male progeny compared to sons of other sires.
U.S. RIBEYE AREA (REA) is reported in square inches as the prediction of difference in square inch ribeye area of a bull’s beef bound progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
U.S. FAT THICKNESS (FT) is reported in inches as the prediction in difference of fat thickness on a carcass when measured between the 12th and 13th ribs of a bull’s beef bound progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
U.S. INTRAMUSCULAR FAT (IMF) is reported in decimal terms representing percentage of intra-muscular fat, which is highly correlated with USDA marbling score, a major determinant of USDA quality grade. As with all EPDs, the absolute value has no inherent relevance, but is used to compare one sire to another.
HEIFER PREGNANCY (HP) is reported in percentile units and represents the probability of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant during their first breeding season compared to daughters of other sires.
STAYABILITY (STAY) is reported in percentile units and represents the probability that a cow will have five consecutive calves compared to her yearling contemporaries.
MATURE COW WEIGHT (MCW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of the difference in mature cow weight of a sire’s daughters when compared to daughters of other sires.
TERMINAL INDEX (TI) is a bio-economic index which considers six growth and carcass-related traits, each trait weighted according to its heritability and economic importance in a feedlot situation with carcasses valued by weight, yield, and quality grade. The value is expressed in standard deviation terms, which can be difficult to comprehend. IBBA advises breeders to evaluate the percentile rank rather than the actual index value.
FERTILITY INDEX (FI) is a bio-economic index which considers six traits, each trait weighted according to its heritability and economic importance in a cow-calf enterprise. The value is expressed in standard deviation terms, which can be difficult to comprehend. IBBA advises breeders to evaluate the percentile rank rather than the actual index value.
BREED BACK (BB) is the probability that a cow will calve as a three-year-old given that she calved first as a two-year-old.
AGE AT FIRST CALVING (AFC) is expressed in days, and represents the day a first calf heifer calves compared to her yearling contemporaries. A lower number indicates animals that calve early in their first calving season and is desirable.
NUMBER OF CALVES (NC) measures the number of calves a cow has up to 7 1⁄2 years of age. The unit of measurement is the actual number of calves. Twins count as one calf. This trait is expressed later in life but is highly correlated with AFC and BB which are expressed early in life.
