4 From Your President Hello Key Clubbers! We are finally half-way through our term and I cannot be more proud of our club’s accomplishments. Throughout the first six months we have encountered and overcame many obstacles that challenged the idea of service. First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you for your patience with us. I speak for the board itself that all we want to do is to make sure that we better serve you and our community. We hope that your Key Club experience has been worthwhile because I know mine has been. I am thankful for all of you because even though we are currently behind a screen, I feel that I have made special connections with all of you. I’d like to take this time to extend my greatest appreciation to the Club Leadership Team, their hard work and creative ideas have truly helped relieve some weight of our Executive Board’s shoulders. And to the Executive Board thank you for sticking with me throughout this difficult time, your leadership skills and our bond as a whole continues to amaze every single day. And to all of you, thank you for joining Key Club. Seeing all of you in our monthly meetings always inspires me to do better as your President and I couldn’t have made it this far without you. I hope that the next few remaining months that we have together are months that we will never forget. Please remember that Key Club elections are coming up and I encourage all of you to be thinking about running for a Key Club position. There will be a candidate training meeting on November 23rd and I encourage all of you to attend. Remember that this is not a commitment to run, this is simply just an informational meeting. I hope to continue to see this club grow and flourish for the next few months and I cannot wait to see who will take on Key Club next year. Till then, please try to stay home, stay safe and on behalf of Key Club International, thank you for serving our home, school and community! Inspired to Serve Serving to Inspire,
Vincent Esconde

5 From Your Vice President Bonjour mes amis! Well, it has been one busy year for all of us, hasn’t it? And not to mention, thanks to YOUR contribution and devotion as a key clubber, we are climbing towards our goals one step at a time-or should I say one HOUR at a time. Over the course of six months, our board and the Club Leadership Teams have worked endlessly to bring you all the festivities and spirits Key Club has to offer from service projects, to socials, and our themed general meetings, all for your enjoyment. It has brought great contentment to have watched our new and standing members grow into the natural born leaders we all aspire to be in a course of just three months into this rocky road we call the 2020-2021 school year. And despite the fact that we won’t be able to be in person and enjoy this milestone in our term, we will celebrate together through means of countless events that’ll strike your fancy. The selfless act of service has been a crucial part of our mission and to witness our members, especially underclassmen, attend every service project and turn in service logs, pleases me to the highest extent. It shows your intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to continue serving your home, school, and community and improve the conditions of the current circumstances that have hindered the lives of so many people and families. For as much work the executive board has done before the term and during the term, I would like to shine the glimmering light on our CLTs and their committee chairs for bringing fresh ideas to the table and always upping the ante for every event. They are the pillars that hold our club to the highest degree and without them, we wouldn’t have received as much recognition and so many members that we are grateful to have as part of our Key Club family. With that being said, we hope to have you all stay with us till the very end of the term as we will celebrate the legacy we have created for our new candidates to inherit. Speaking of new candidates, elections are underway and how exciting would it be to see yourself have a leadership position that'll not only look great on your high school track record but as well as getting to leave a long lasting impact on your club? I highly encourage those who are curious and willing to uphold a leadership position to attend our informational Candidate Training Meeting on November 23rd to gain insight on our positions and the process of running for whichever position you intend to run for. Mind you, that attending the meeting won’t substantiate you as a running mate. Again, I thank you all for being the BZZ-iest bees I have got to know and I hope that we can end our term with a BANG! As always, stay safe, be kind, and continue being the bright light that shines in this world! Peace and love everyone! Serving Magically Alongside You,
Jazelle Morales

6 From Your Secretary Oh hello there again :D Guess what ! It’s officially mid terms so we are halfway through our term. It went by so fast and the amount of accomplishments we achieved is just unbelievable and I’m proud of each and every one of you that contributed to our achievements. Last year was a slow year for us and with that in mind we came up with reasonable goals that we wanted to accomplish as a whole and you guys blew through the roof when I look at how close we are and we’re not even to the end yet! Now, I keep talking about these accomplishments and goals but what do I exactly mean by that? Well, let me give you just a few examples. As of right now we have a total of 683 service hours, almost triple what we had last year and we are well on our goal to roughly 1,000. Each month as I report the number of service events accompanied by the numerous hours you guys have earned truly makes my heart happy. This may just seem like a big number at first sight but if you really think about it that’s 683 hours dedicated to making this world a better place, that’s a lot of time! Moving on to a more shocking accomplishment, we have earned over $600 through fundraisers that supported a really important organization called UNICEF. That is another milestone that we hit which doesn’t event compare to last year so kudos to you guys. To shift this conversation a little, after recognizing and acknowledging all our beautiful members I also want to give a huge shout to my fellow board members and CLT’s. They have been through hell and back trying to juggle all the responsibilities that come with their job and each one of them carried so much weight in the success of our club. I couldn’t have done it without their guidance and support. Now that our term is creeping slowly towards the end I’m excited to see the new leaders of this club which reminds me, there is a meeting on the 23rd that all of you should attend if you’re interested in becoming one of us ;) Don't forget to keep yourself updated with any new events, fundraisers, meetings, and rtc. As always, I look forward to seeing you guys and until next time be safe and stay positive ! Serving with Love and Passion

7 From Your Treasurer Hey there my fellow Key Clubbers! I am glad to say that we have officially made it halfway through our term! The time has gone by remarkably fast and I am extremely astonished by the many things we have accomplished thus far. None of our achievements could have happened without the support and cooperation by you all! I can not be more proud of our club and how much effort each and every one of you have put in to accomplish our goals! From the amount of things we had to overcome and figure out through the pandemic and online learning, we honestly were able to do so amazing! So far, we have managed to fundraise over $600 for the organization called UNICEF that provides aid to improve the health, nutrition, education, and general welfare of children nationally. This is such an amazing accomplishment that our club has worked so hard to shine some light on the world and our communities, throughout these difficult times. You all have shown me what it means to be a true leader! Thank you so much for joining Key Club and dedicating your time to serving others. The members of this club are truly what keeps the board going and the board and I really appreciate all of you! I would also like to focus on our Club Leadership Teams; throughout this term they have done such a great job at providing new events and project ideas for us all. They have so many responsibilities and they have put so much effort into making this year full of happiness and service through the hard times. I know for a fact that the board and I could not have done such an amazing job without the support and help of the Club Leadership Teams! As our term comes to an end, it is important that the board reminds you that Key Club elections are coming up and you should definitely consider it because trust me when I say that you will not regret it! Another reminder for you all, is that you should pay your dues as soon as possible because the early bird dues deadline is December 1st, and I would really appreciate it if you could get that paid and make sure to screenshot your payment and send it to me as soon as possible! Make sure to be aware of the service projects, fundraisers, or any exciting events coming near in the future! Please make sure to take care of yourselves and be safe. I really do look forward to seeing you all and miss you all so much! And as always, remember to always look on the positive side of things! Serving for the World,

8 From Your Historian Hey Rams! I can't believe it's almost halfway though the school year and there's only a couple months left until elections. Time flies by so fast! To be honest, when schools first closed down in the spring, I was worried about how we can still continue the hype and drive for Key Club since we were used to being present in person and working together, side by side, and hands on. If past me were to see how far our club has gone now taking into consideration having to restructure everything we were used to, I genuinely think I would be in tears. Everyone in the Club Board works hard to make events like meetings, fundraisers, service projects, and banquets (soon to come!) possible. The effort put in by my fellow Board members is unbelievable, so I'd like to take a moment to thank them for all they've done to run this club. Similarly, none of our projects would have been as successful as they were if not for our amazing members. Thank you guys for participating and showing up, it really means the world to me. Branching off of that, the motivation and preservation of all of our members really reminded me of the Key Club spirit and why I decided to join Key Club in the first place. To be even more frank, it's you all the inspire me to do the best I can! In the beginning of the term, there were so many new responsibilities and things that I had to keep track of and I began to struggle a bit, but with the encouragement and help from the Board, I was able to make it this far! I've learned so many new things about Key Club and learned so many skills that are useful both in and out of the club. Being an officer is one of the best experiences I have had as a high schooler overall, which is why I encourage you all to at least consider running for office. Being Historian has allowed me to meet and work with some of the most hardest working people I know and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. Thank you all once again, and see you next month! Serving Above an Beyond,
Ellanae Manera

9 From Your Webmaster Hey, my fellow Key Club members, welcome back! Can you believe we’re already halfway through our term. It's crazy how time goes so fast when we're kept busy and learning new things. It makes me so happy seeing how far our club has gone this year, especially with new restrictions and guidelines we have to follow. We didn’t anything stop us from making this year another great year for our club. But none of this would have been possible without our amazing members who encourage and push us to achieve our goals. I can still remember the meeting we, the board, disused the goals we wanted to accomplish this year. We kept going back and forward because we wanted to set realistic goals, but still be optimistic. We looked at past years and we decided to set some high goals because we felt as a board we could achieve them if we worked hard and we did it! I am so proud of my fellow board and committee members because I know that our job is not easy and we all still manage to put in 100%. At the beginning of the term I struggled with the responsibilities of being Webmaster because I was not used to the workload and our previous years webmaster had done much for our club and I had to start on my own with not much of a reference. It was tough, especially since this was when we started hearing about the pandemic. But I got through with the help of my President and Vice President. They showed me that I had help and that it was okay to be struggling. I am so thankful that they helped me because now I have become better at my job and I can help the next Webmaster not be as overwhelmed. Key Club is an amazing club and that has made me learn so much about myself and my peers. Our club has made this year so fun and with there always being something to be involved in such as service events or committees. All we want is for everyone to feel welcomed because this is a safe place to be yourself and to be open. I hope the rest of my term continues to be as amazing as these past months have been. Let's all remember to stay positive and keep going! Soaring with Service,

ARTICLES AND VISUALS General Meeting, October 19th We started off the month of October with another themed meeting. For this meeting, the board and committee chairs decided with the wizarding theme of Harry Potter. We, the board, decided on what character we wanted to be, and then when it came to the meeting we dressed to the best of our ability according to our character. Then, as our meeting preceded we discussed events that were coming up and some club business, like club applications and dues. We even brought up elections for the next Executive Board so that our members who were interested were getting prepared. We took inspiration from our October DCM and played the Free Rice app to fundraise for UNICEF! After that, we congratulated the Member of the Month, Vicente Chavez, Service Bee of the Month, Honarata Esperanza-Drinks, and Spirit of the Month, Azariah Green. After announcing the awards to our wonderful members, we separated into four breakout rooms, according to each house in Harry Potter in which each Committee chair was in charge of; Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Gryffindor, and Hufflepuff. To conclude the meeting, we played Among Us in our breakout rooms for our members’ entertainment and enjoyment.

Mario Ka-RTC 2020, October 24th
Health and Halloween 2020, October 30th
After a long-awaited month, RTC made a return but with an obvious change; that change being that it was held virtually. It was a whole new experience for our standing members who’ve attended RTC pre-pandemic, and for our new, first-year members that recall the event as being “entertaining” and “engaging”. With all things virtual, we expected to have a few technical difficulties along the way, especially with the large capacity of participants and the mixups with certain GoogleMeet codes. And, of course, we did, in fact, experience a few hiccups during our time attending RTC. But despite the minor incidents, we were able to enjoy the event in a safe and comfortable manner. With such a stressfully anticipated event, we thank our hardworking Lieutenant Governor, Mari Cervantes, for keeping all of D28N informed and on track with our workshops while also making us laugh and smile with the Dare challenge she presented towards the end of the event. Overall, Mario Ka-RTC was yet another unforgettable experience.
Once again our amazing Service Project Chair, Melika Cummings, brought us another great service event for this month. This month’s event was Health & Halloween. Melika stated, “ Health & Halloween was a spooky service event in support of UNICEF. During this webinar, members participated in various activities such as a costume showing, a spooky escape room and so much more!” UNICEF is an organization that supports child health and nutrition and is one of the world’s largest providers of vaccines for children. In this event, we wanted to make sure that our members are aware of what UNICEF does and what good they do for children. After explaining UNICEF and their mission, our members participated in a scavenger hunt-style escape room. There was even an optional flyer contest! Members had to submit a flyer about UNICEF with a spooky theme to fit the October festivity.
