At Randall High School, students are a part of so many amazing and different school clubs, classes, and events. Each grade level contributes to many activities around the school each month, and even weekly. In Amarillo the community is fairly tight knit, so there is always an opportunity open to help someone in need. The clubs, classes, and organizations at Randall High School are open to these opportunities, and step up every single time when the need arises. During the holidays especially, the Key Club at Randall High School is very busy. They take up the offer to collect cans for food drives, make and hand out food at shelters, create a safe spot for those struggling during the holidays, and even hang out and play with the smaller children who attend events with their parents. Randall High School’s Principal, Steven Singleton, has taken notice of the hard work and dedication achieved by the Key Club, and asked President Emily Klein to participate in a peanut butter drive for the area’s Snak Pak 4 Kids in early October. Klein reached out to other clubs at Randall High School and asked for their help to collect jars of peanut butter to send out to kids in our community. She received help from Randall’s FFA (Future Farmers of America), NHS (National Honors Society), and the marching band. Each of these organizations were happy to help and stepped up to the plate, bringing a car load of jars full of peanut butter. Members of Key Club and National Honors Society had the opportunity to earn hours for this service project, which was a helpful incentive, as areas in Amarillo to serve are closed due to COVID-19. However, students at Randall High School were able to come together to provide many jars of peanut butter to the Snak Pak 4 Kids organization, and put some smiles on the faces of those children in need. They have reported that they are so thankful for the donation of jars, and are excited for the future of the Randall High School Key Club!
