HUMANS OF TE

Payton Br

M

y name is Payton Brookshire and I am the 2019-2020 Key Club President for Randall High School. This

will be my fourth and final year in Key Club, and I want to see the club grow like I have over the past years. I want to foster friendship and love through community service so that all members are truly a part of the K -family like I am. Freshman and sophomore years were a little rough as expected, but I always had my fellow Key Clubbers and sponsors to support me. I have grown close to the executive board and I want to continue our supportive and enduring friendship long after I graduate this spring. I have also enjoyed amazing relationships with volunteer directors and community figures. It has been extremely beneficial for me to have these mentors outside of school that have a different perspective on the world than I do. I have grown to understand that the world is incredibly different than it is portrayed to high schoolers, and that the value of advice from a trusted adult is priceless. I would not be able to cope with the stresses of high school without my greatest supporters, and I want the members of my club to develop their relationships with out outstanding sponsors, mentors, and fellow Key Clubbers.

I am really looking forward to repaying the positive impact the club has had on me to members, both new and old. As an individual, I have grown to appreciate relationships on a deeper level, but as a team member I have learned much more. Although the vast majority of job requirements in Key Club are fun and exciting, not all of them are. Naturally, that means some people are unwilling to do the less fun jobs, but I have discovered that the most efficient team covers each other’s backs no matter the circumstance. So when it comes down to the mundane tasks of organizing paperwork, cleaning out closets, or giving rides, as a board we all have to pitch in to keep the club running smoothly. This year is sure to be packed with new adventures from Freshman Orientation to District Convention. I cannot wait to share new memories with every member of the club and make new friendships outside and within the K-family. I am truly looking forward to another unforgettable year to share with my best friends. Wishing you the best year, Payton Brookshire Randall High School President
