he time is drawing near for DCON, a district convention hosted in Dallas for diligent Key Club Members who have met their requirement of five service hours per month. Those who have been to DCON before have explained that it is extremely fun and that anyone who can go should try to go because it is such a wonderful place to be. Key Club Members at Randall are looking forward readily for this unique opportunity that begins on April 25th and will last until April 28th. At DCON, members will have a plethora of opportunities such as interviewing for college scholarships, learning more about Key Club, meeting other members from around their area, and fostering their Key Club Spirit. One of the most important opportunities found at DCON is that of applying for college scholarships if you are a Senior. Scholarships offered for Key Club Seniors by the Kiwanis Children’s Fund include the Cunat International Scholarship, Harry S. Himmel Scholarship, and Linda Canaday Scholarship. Such scholarships offer considerable amounts of money to assist in paying for part of college tuition and will look phenomenal on a resume! Any high school Senior who is a member of Key Club International of good-standing can apply for these marvelous scholarships. Plus, Key Club members are able to learn more about Key Club by participating in Key Club workshops and meeting Key Club members from a

CONVENTION By Brooke Newson variety of places at DCON. DCON offers multiple workshops that can help members discover new ideas for fundraising and service or learn tips. Meeting other members from different schools and towns will provide Key Club members with an opportunity to learn more about Key Club because they will be able to discuss experiences with these new acquaintances and gain knowledge from them. Furthermore, Key Club members can exchange suggestions with one another. DCON is a phenomenal place to strengthen and educate all Key Club members. In addition to these chances, Key Club members will simply get to foster their Key Club spirit and enjoy themselves at DCON! There are dances for the members to go to and many social opportunities. Key Club members will get to stay at the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas in rooms with their other Key Club friends who go. Because of all of this, DCON will be an exciting event that members can look forward to enjoying with their contemporaries. All in all, DCON will be an extraordinary experience for all Key Club members who will choose to attend. Key Club members will have diverse activities to participate in which will provide numerous benefits. Thus, members look forward to DCON with great anticipation. DCON will be the opportunity of a lifetime for members who look to learn and participate more in service, friendship, and supporting their community.
