A Year of Change By Emily Klein

W

hile this time of year is full of excitement for the future, this month we took a step back to focus of the accomplishments of

our exiting officers and reminisce on the service projects we have completed, and to do this, our club is hosting a banquet on May 14th to reward seniors and members with the most hours.

Jessica Harris, our past Recording Secretary, comments “Over the past four years of my high school career, Key Club has been such an integral part of my life. Since I joined my freshman year, I have made some of my favorite memories, met some of my best friends, and have had some of the greatest opportunities to serve my community. This past year I have been the most involved because of my position as the club’s recording secretary, but even with the work as secretary, this last year has been the most rewarding because I have been able to work with my best friends on board to become number three club of the Texas-Oklahoma district. There were a lot of obstacles to getting that number three spot, so I’m pretty proud of our club. I am

so grateful towards my fellow members and to our club sponsors/advisors for making my senior year so amazing. They all have put so many hours of dedication and effort in order to alleviate any of the needs of our community. I can proudly say that I spent four years of my high school career with some of the best people at Randall High.” In addition to this, Kaitlyn Anders, our current Recording Secretary also mentions that “ever since being a part of my first board meeting as a freshman class representative, I knew Key Club was going to be with me

during the rest of my high school career. As my fresh-

man year of being a representative went on I knew that I truly enjoyed Key Club and wanted to do something to get involved with the executive board my sophomore year. As I looked into each and every position and their involvement in the executive board I started to grow interest in the Recording Secretary position. I looked at all the criteria for the position and talked to the current secretary at the time, Jessica Harris and asked a bunch of questions. When it came around to elect-

ing new officers I decided to run for the position. I ran for this position because I found Recording Secretary to be heavily involved in every aspect of meetings, giving reports, and I liked having the responsibility as well. Fast-forward to now, sophomore year, I have been Randall Key Club Recording Secretary for a year going on two years as I will also be the Secretary for my junior year. I have loved every minute of being secretary.
