Under the working title, “The Creative and Productive City”, studies will be conducted on the conversion site Media City Babelsberg (ca. 47 ha) in Potsdam , which is to be developed as a mixed-use creative urban district during the coming years. The aim is to develop project ideas for an innovative concept that, thanks to a “creative generation”, will link the themes of “productive city” with “housing” at district level. The site will host a rich mix of uses such as: housing, student accomodation and hotels; kindergartens, a school and a university building; films studios, a film archive and a theme park; a convention center, parking facilites a local park and a creative quarter. The studies will focus on 5 key areas which differ in theme and programme, offering a rich range of opportunites for design development.

My vision for this site is to renew the once-popular media destination into a reimagined modern urban hub that not only brings visitors to the area but one that also creates a unique mix of residential spaces with commercial areas so that the district can be transformed into a socially resilient and celebrated place for old and new generations The approach for the redevelopment of the entire site is to produce a solution for each zone that together, works to produce a site that is filled with engaging social spaces, and architecture that creates a self-sustainable hub for years to come. Each site will have its own creative implementation based on the overall site intents but will have a connection to each other. Connect: This strategy aims to connect to the site beyond its proposed boundary. Having it reach out and foster a connection that is highly accessible from adjacent urban neighbourhoods. Context Integration: Builds upon the old and existing context and reorganise the site facilities that results in cohesiveness while implementing modern and ecconomic approaches

The mission statement for Bitterfeld-Wolfen foresees the further development of the town as a complex working, residential and recreational site. The town has come one step closer to this thanks to the development of Lake Goitzsche, which provides valuable new potential. With this lake, the town is not only to become a place to work and live in, but also “a place to liveâ€? in a new sense. Reactivating the wasteland area of Gartenstadt SĂźd as well as the area between the town port and Villa am Bernsteinsee provides the opportunity of creating new residential typologies and attractive sport, free-time and recreational concepts which, in their quality and image, go beyond what the town has been able to offer to date and thus attract new residents. To achieve this, the provision of new and intergenerational residential forms must be reinforced and alternatives to the classic detached house on green field sites created. The new approach means developing housing and residential typologies that demonstrate a strong reference to the surrounding landscape as well as creating infrastructural facilities for families that are enthusiastic about sporting activities. As part of the concept, the public (green) spaces should maintain their landscape character.

The planning challenge is to develop an exemplary urban and/or landscape central concept for the area between the port jetty to the Villa am Bernsteinsee. The proposal of the new Amber Lake Waterfront is to be a unique place for social gathering, expressing a renewed culture. The once disconnected, dull, and even dangerous shoreline walk has been transformed into a socially resilient and celebrated place for old and new generations that is highly accessible from the entire city of Bitterfeld and surrounding cities. Reimagined as a mixture of soft and hardscape, the waterfront anchors a series of differents types zones filled with engaging social spaces, contemporary architecture, stunning water features, atmotspheric lighting, amusements, and seasonal plantings.

HOTEL ENTRY
Following my investigations, I decided that the hotel design must be able to capture the wonderful lake views, therefore I placed most of the guest rooms on the lake side. The hotel also uses some natural materials such as wood so that it would not be too harsh on the water edge .The project aims to create a space that not only accommodates those who wants to get away from their normal life but also hosts leisure spaces within and around it in order to accommodate a wide variety of guests throughout the year.

The design aimed to cater to a small family of three. We envisioned that the parents, though modern, appreciated their Japanese culture and would want elements of a traditional home in their tiny house. We incorporated spaces and items such as a: Genkau, Tokonoma, Shoji styled doors, Kotatsu, Engawa inspired garden and a traditional Japanese styled bathtub in the master bathroom. We also imagined that this family was environmentally conscious and would also require sustainable design techniques and technology throughout their household. As it relates to technology, we propose that the house uses energy efficient appliances, a programmable thermostat, smart power strips and a home energy management system. Lastly, we sought to create spaces that the family could use to entertain guests and be multifunctional. Examples of this are seen in the living and dining area, as well as the garden which can serve as both a veranda and ‘drying yard’ for clothes.

Building for children has once again become a hot topic for architects, particularly with the recent announcement of the ‘Gute-Kita-Gesetz’, a new law in Germany aimed at improving the availability and quality of nursery schools. According to the German government’s estimations, there is currently a shortage of carers and built space for almost 300,000 children in the country. In recent years, no other building typology has changed and evolved more rapidly than educational facilities for children. Architectural solutions must go far beyond the structural as-pects of the respective building: they must also ensure flexibility, safety, and accessibility and account for the current technical, ecological, and energy standards. The aim of this project was to redesign and rethink the existing Fröbel Kindergarten design and provide a cultural-historical account of the development of educational buildings for children, to define design tasks, and to formulate quality standards within the existing built structure.

Architecture can be seen as a means to create magnificent spaces which evokes a sense of unity between the users and the space. My vision for this project is nothing less than realizing the full potential of the existing edifice which creates a separation between each other and turning it into one that allows the children to meet and greet each other thus creating meaningful learning experiences for every child within its doors. A space that the children can play, communicate and create their future together with their peers no matter age difference between them. The main intent is to create a space that helps bring the children of the kindergarten closer together and create a seamless connection within the two existing buildings and establishes seamless transitions between spaces. Moreover, the kindergarten is organized around a central space which acts as the ‘heart beat’ of the kindergarten’s anatomy that is intended to be used throughout every season whether sun, rain, snow or hail. DYNAMIC CIRCULATION Circulation space is sometimes seen as a useless space, however, when desi-gned and integrated with the users in mind, creative solutions can be attained. Circulation within this kindergarten is a very important parameter and was ai-med to be dynamic by exposing it at some points while concealing it at others through learning spaces. By creating a dynamic circulation that leads the chil-dren from pathways to activity spaces and group rooms, it allows interaction and creates a connection of children of various ages. It also allows them the ability to move freely in a continuous motion and not having to turn back to get from their initial starting point to any desired location within the facility. SEAMLESS CONNECTION Creating a connection that seamless brides the gap between the two main structures that were initially erected was also a main goal to be achieved in this design. With the courtyard being the central focus of the two structures, creating a space where everything revolves around the courtyard and ma-kes it as the heart that connects all spaces and brings them together. A cle-ar connection was also established at the entry foyer and also at the eating area which both seamlessly ties together both buildings making the end result a holistic space to be enjoyed and used as one optimally integrated facility OPENNESS Creating a space with a minimum use of walls within the learning spaces and use of large sliding doors to delineate zones associated with different types of group or individual interactions allows the students to move items and furniture around and influence their own space. This will give the children the ability to contribute to the selection and arrangement of elements in these spaces. The openness of spaces will also provide good lines of sight for both the teacher and child alike, which is important for maintaining attention and a visual connection at all times.

Great design should move and surprise you. You should feel it and have an immediate attraction. In designing this residence, the intent was to create a space that evokes a sense of unity between the users, the edifice and the magnificent views that are attained while on the site. A space that is well thought out and connects the interior with the exterior giving the users a space in which they can thoroughly enjoy throughout.
ENTRY
DECK
A space that allows seamless and unimpeded views and connections to the natural surroundings no matter the location of the user within the edifice. The space was also designed to accommodate guests, therefore it was important to separate the private from the public spaces. When a guest is within the space they will in no way view private areas unless directed to those spaces. All these characteristics come together to make this residence a pure and incredible architectural masterpiece which the users will thoroughly enjoy.

Architecture can be seen as a means to create magnificent spaces which evokes a sense of unity between the users, the edifice and the surrounding context. Therefore, in designing this residence, the main intent was to create a space that connects the interior with the exterior, As the users expressed their love for the outdoors. As such, the main livings paces were designed in such a way to Allow seamless and unimpeded views And connections to the natural surroundings.
Creating outdoor living spaces was Also an important design factor, as it allowed the users to be directly linked with the surrounding environment. The existing site trees were also taken into account as they create a juxtaposition between the proposed building And themselves. Some materials used within the spaces like the floors, also successfully borrow from the exterior context which embraces and gives a sense of earthiness to the space while Also keeping it up to date to the modern times.

REDESIGNING AND RE-PURPOSING A CALL CENTRE The purpoose of this project was to redesign an existing office space to be fitting to today’s modern society, comprising of spaces that create a fun working environment. A place which allows for work and play that would increase team spirit and communication
The process I employed while redesigning this interior spaces of certain zones of call centre is one that intends to bring colour and life to the space. The space initially lacked areas for relaxing and promoting communication for its users which I tried to capture while designing these zones. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
