‘If you think you can do it, no one can stop you from doing it’ OT many of us can think of taking study leave for two years after starting a company, which is barely a year old. But Allwin Agnel, who wasn't interested in regular jobs and wanted to do something on his own, did exactly the same. Agnel started his online portal – PaGaLGuY – in 2002 and ever since it has become a ready reckoner for management students and B-school aspirants in India. Agnel who is a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania started two companies when he was barely 21 years old. Says he, “I started very early as an entrepreneur right after college.” Talking about the early years he says, “They were tough, exciting and full of dreams. It was challenging to deal with issues one hadn't faced before- to figure out solutions to problems and to grow, hire, set up things - all at the same time. However, even very early on, I found amazing people to work with and this allowed me to dream bigger.” With lots of ideas on mind to further improve the concept Agnel says, “Our first hire at pagalguy.com was the turning point for the business. World Bank kicked off their implementation support mission for MUTP and MUTP 2A on February 3. The bank is on a regular supervision mission from February 3 -10, led by Atul Agarwal, transport specialist. Dr PC Sehgal, managing director, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation welcomed the mission and explained the details of various works in progress. World Bank also applauded MRVC for the "MoU Excellence Certificate 2008-09" which was conferred on Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, for excellent achievement in MoU Targets.
Hazarika given additional charge of CMD & Director (Exploration), ONGC The Government of India has entrusted the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director, ONGC and Director (Exploration), ONGC to AK Hazarika, Director (Onshore), ONGC. Hazarika is a first class graduate in mechanical engineering from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. He joined ONGC as a Graduate Trainee in 1976. His first assignment was as Driller (Cementing) in Assam. He remained in Assam upto 1989 at various important positions with increasing complex responsibilities.
