FICTIONAL CHARACTERS PROJECT June 2012 These are illustrations representing characters of my own imagination, the main character is called “Coli�. I also designed a handmade doll representing the main character, using fabric and acrylic colors, along with a mug representing the other character and a poster with the environment the characters live in.

In this project, illustrations were drawn by hand representing different personalities placed inside three lockers. I chose the lockers as it holds secrets of students and their addictions. Each locker representing a real personality in my faculty; a food addict, a fashion addict and a drug addict.

Illustrations of elephants refering to buddhism and the islamic period as elephants were very important in that era. A pattern was formed from all the illustrations which can be used for bed sheets or other textiles.

Being in charge of the establishment of a new School of Architecture, my mind has been occupied by nothing but success and distinction.The establishment of such a new school is considered a unique opportunity to create a center of tremendous creativity and diversity. Architecture and design require passion, intelligence and skill.The School of Architecture and Built En vironment (SABE) seeks, through its programs, to instill these attributes within each of its students by adhering to a philosophy of integration among artistic creativity, intellectual curiosity and technical acuity.The unique Programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels seek to reach afar to new territories and cultures, making simultaneous appeals to the emotive, to the ideal, and to the practical.The project-oriented Programs stress skillful manipulation of form, rigorous development of process, and a real-world, problem-solving approach that takes inspiration from the broad body of professional and societal knowledge necessary to contemporary practices. A faculty of practitioners distinguished in their respective fields leads this effort, overseeing a full range of instruction in design process, theory and discourse, visual and design studies, history, technology, materials, socio-cultural factors, and professional practice.The faculty is dedicated to the dynamic engagement of multiple design strategies and methodologies.Such approach consciously prepares students to face professions that change constantly in response to varying societal forces, such as globalDR. Important events in a person’s life are of ten accompanied by a memory or a reward, documenting a nd celebra ting tha t event. Since graduating school is one of those important moments in a student’s life, celebrating this moment becomes primal. For this years’ graduates we thought it was time to document their 5 years with a magazine issue, especially dedicated to them, as it will be a great way to launch the first issue of Ab strakt. Needless to say recognizing the hard work they put into their studies is the least thing SABE can give back to the students. The growth of the student life, student diver sity and student achievement has been on an upward spiral since the founding of this school. The amount of activities hosted at the school and the amount of awards received by the students makes the student stand from the crowd. Therefore, on behalf of GJU and SABE I bid all students good luck for the rest of their studies and make sure you keep an out on Abstrakt.

In a very complex context at Amman’s Downtown, Philadelphia Boutique Hotel ‘s design was a very challenging process. Not only one had to respect the historical and social value of the site, but also propose new solutions engaging the community while still assuring hotel guests a very safe, interesting and comfortable experience. The proposed form had to respect the surrounding “chaos” and steep landscape and scenery and be as edgy and avant-garde at the same time. The concept
of the additional structure was derived from the nature f urban sprawl up the hills of Amman, where the cubic form dominated the scene and created a very interesting visual experience. Therefore the idea started with an abstract of these clusters in the form of cluster cubes climbing the hill, with “streets” cutting through, which was a solution for circulation. This way, each cube. hence room or suite, had its own entrance, bal cony, sometimes a small backyard or even a
garden. This spontaneous chaos created an order of enclosures, which are very intimate and private at the same time. This outdoorindoor experience at such a site in such an area fits greatly with the climate and the context, where the guest would have a very warm and unique urban experiwhole town on the other side.
The project is all about Urban Remem brance, it's not only about the built environment ,but about the transition between hills. Transition and movement developed by ascending from below (the valley) and up the hills. That' s how I saw my project morph in the site, the natural way of the development of this area although historyThe methodology of the design started by replicating walls from the existing con-
structions and hills. Replication happens parallel to the current walls and starts to move parallel to the site. Masses fragment and fuse with the walls ,descending from private to public. The Urban Ribbon of movement, that is series or ramps and bridges connect the masses together. I took into consideration leaving the urban level for public use ,so elevated the lobby of the hotel to the second floor Thats how I

The Basic design lines were created by examining different lines in the surrounding area and site boundaries were taken into consideration.Two masses were suggested, the first one contains private functions and connected with the municipality building by its weakest part. Being creative comes from the heart. My passion is not only to create what’s new, but what’s unique. Colors speak to me in ev erything I do, whether it’s in fashion, film, photogra phy, or design. And as Albert Einstein once said: “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.” Design is a way to utilize my artistic talents and desire to create a better world for all and broad curiosity in a gainful way. Great design does both at the same time. It’s about the pas sion of creating something from nothing , imagination , creativity and living through colours , it’s what makes us wake up everyday knowing that each day can be different in one way or another .. It’s simply the love for life and i truel love it !
I realized that those who tell you that life is too short are liars be cause life is too long and I enjoy every single dull bit of it. I grew up to love colors patterns nature beautiful smile, and grew up to hate waiting, timing. The most important thing is that I came to understand that each person has a reason for being who they are, the way we perceive life is the reason behind having a single independent identity for each one of us.
I’m the kind of person who likes to be really inspired, designing gives me the opportunity to show people what’s on my mind and the message I want to give through visual aids.
