A Message from the Recreation Center Coordinator
A
s we spring forward into these warmer months, I am excited to announce the events we have planned. Here are a few things to look forward to: a free lifeguard training, sports, tournaments, holiday festivities, craft events, a new hiking trail and much more. I personally would like to encourage you to get yourself and your family out and enjoy this fresh, warm weather. It is a great time to get moving. The Fitness Center is hosting a monthly Fitness Challenge! What better way to get motivated than a little competition. Ringing in the New Year typically brings on a lot of new challenges and changes. Bagdad is no different! Expect some new and exciting changes in the community. For example, the Townsite Housing office has relocated to 2 Yavapai. Just a quick reminder with this warm weather approaching be on the lookout for rattlesnakes and stay hydrated!

2018 Stop the Bleed Program Freeport McMoRan, Bagdad Operations, was the first Fortune 500 company in Arizona to adopt the Stop the Bleed program. Included in the 2018 Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) annual refresher training, over 1,000 attendees received practical instruction on the management of potentially life-threatening bleeding. Additionally, four standalone Stop the Bleed courses were provided to residents of Bagdad and its neighboring communities.
Implementation of this program included distributing 40 bleeding control kits throughout the community. It is the hope of FMBI that the skills obtained during this training will never have to be used, however we believe those exposed to these lessons will be prepared to save a life should the need arise. 30
