Prescott residents are fortunate to have access to an extensive array of advanced healthcare services that are recognized for quality and patient-focused care. Prescott is home to the West Campus of Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC), the largest acute care, not-for-profit hospital in the region. This full-service, 137-bed, state of-the-art hospital is staffed by highly trained healthcare experts representing a wide range of specialties. YRMC West is well known for high-performing hip and knee replacement programs and has been recognized as one of the Top 10 hospitals in the country for safe surgery. Recognized in the top 10 percent of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the country for the past eleven years, Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (Mountain Valley) is the premier provider of acute physical rehabilitation in central Arizona. Mountain Valley provides intensive rehabilitative and medical services for patients with functional deficits as a result of acute diagnoses such as stroke, hip fracture, amputation, and multiple trauma including total brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Other neurological specialties include Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
The rehab team’s focus includes daily rounding and care by physicians that specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, along with certified rehab nursing and respiratory therapy. All inpatients at Mountain Valley receive a minimum of three hours of therapy a day with specialty-trained therapists including: physical therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists.
This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with 44 inpatient beds, a 9,000-square-foot therapy gym, an aquatic therapy pool, and an outdoor therapy courtyard. Mountain Valley also takes advantage of the latest advances in medical and therapy technology including a Zero G tracking support system that employs robotic control systems.
Mountain Valley’s goal is to help patients recover quickly and return home with a renewed sense of self-sufficiency. The facility is certified by The Joint Commission in both Brain Injury and Stroke; signifying the hospital’s dedication to developing better results for patients that have suffered brain injuries or strokes. Eligible veterans in the north central Arizona region can take advantage of healthcare services through the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System. The main campus, the Bob Stump VA Medical Center, is located in Prescott. Five Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Anthem, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Kingman and Lake Havasu City serve veterans in northern Maricopa, Yavapai, Coconino, Mojave and Apache counties. Additionally there are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Outreach Clinics on American Indian Nations in Chinle, Second Mesa and Tuba City, a VA Primary Care Clinic at the Indian Health Service Chinle Comprehensive Care Health Care facility, and Primary Care Telemedicine Outpatient Clinics in Holbrook and Page, AZ The main Medical Center offers inpatient and outpatient care on a primary and secondary care level, including medical, specialty, rehabilitative and longterm care services.
