When Sun Health Foundation launched the Generosity for Generations Campaign in 2018, we committed to an extraordinary vision — a vision of vibrant health and an ever-improving quality of life in the West Valley. Together, we boldly imagined the superior healthcare our community deserves. With just a couple weeks to go in the Campaign, what a great time to reminisce on the impact of your support. “Impossible” is not a word we use here in the West Valley. Today, thanks to decisive action and confidence, superior healthcare is a reality. It’s what happens when passion and vision come together.
And we continue to drive this impactful innovation forward.
We’re extraordinarily proud of our partnership with the community spanning 55 years, reflecting generations of philanthropy – often in the same family – from the community, for the community. Our achievements are beyond the ordinary.
Belief in the extraordinary means having faith during the…unordinary. We are grateful to the many donors who helped advance this vision during an unprecedented global health crisis. COVID tested the very fabric of communities around the world and put pressure on the healthcare infrastructure as never before.

Because of you, Banner Boswell Medical Center has now earned the highest rating from The
Society of Thoracic Surgeons for its patient care and outcomes in isolated Coronary Artery Bypass
Grafting procedures. As a result, Banner Boswell is among the elite for heart bypass surgery in North
America – the only hospital in Arizona to ever receive this recognition.
Because of you, U.S. News & World Report named
Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center among the nine best hospitals in Arizona to have a baby and among the eight Best Maternity Care Hospitals in the United States in 2021. The hospital has also been ranked among the top 100 best maternity hospitals in the U.S. for the last three years.
Banner Boswell Medical Center is among the elite for heart bypass surgery in North America – the only hospital in Arizona to ever receive this recognition.

A reimagined emergency department at Banner
Boswell. Improvements are evident in every aspect of the ED experience – from reduced wait times to an increase in isolation rooms that contain airborne illnesses.
State-of-the-art breast cancer imaging and treatment at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center.
A new upright, stereotactic surgical table means patients can undergo 3D imaging or finely targeted treatment with a greater degree of comfort – and the highest possible confidence. More breast procedures are performed here than at any other hospital in Arizona.
Expanded care for women at the Louisa Kellam Center for Women’s Health at Banner Del E.
Webb. More women can be served from maternity to menopause and beyond with services that now include an expanded Level 2 Nursery that offers the best possible welcome to thousands of new West Valley lives.
A new level of comfort for orthopedics diagnoses
at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center. Banner Del E. Webb’s new diagnostic equipment not only is more comfortable, but it also ensures more targeted treatments with better outcomes.

Earlier, more accurate diagnoses for lung cancer at Banner MD Anderson Cancer at Banner
Boswell. Boswell now offers the only minimally invasive, robot biopsies for lung cancer in the West Valley. This minimally invasive procedure makes all the difference to patients who might otherwise delay an important test – and that means lives are saved. This robotic technology is so advanced, that it's the only one of its kind in Arizona.
