A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL! ! Welcome to Arroyo Grande High School and Doug Hitchen Stadium, home of the defending CIF Champion Eagles! We have an outstanding veteran coaching staff led by Head Coach Tom Goossen, Scott Shepard, Trevor Coville, Mark Flowers, Brandon King, Stephen Field, Garth Porterfield, and Mike Hartman who have countless years of experience and bring a dedicated effort to make Eagle Football a success in 2012. Students that play football at Arroyo Grande High School develop a strong character based on commitment, respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. As a result of the quality preparation and tremendous work ethic of our coaches and athletes the Eagles are always in contention for another PAC 7 Championship. Tom Butler AGHS Principal

One of the strengths of Arroyo Grande High School is the outstanding school spirit we enjoy. The athletic programs and extracurricular offerings for students play a huge part in making the campus a positive environment and earning the school recognition as one of the best in the country. I want to thank our community, boosters, band, color guard, cheerleaders, and fans for the support they give the team each week. We couldn’t be successful without all of the local business and community members that support our athletic program and football teams. Thank you! Our Athletic Booster Club is critical in helping support all our Eagle teams throughout the year, and we need your involvement. Please call Piper Adelman 801-5006, or contact the school, 474-3200 ext. 2260 if you are interested in helping in any way. Thank you for coming out to support our players and coaches. It promises to be another fantastic season of Eagle Football. Go Eagles! Dwight MacDonald Athletic Director

• LEITER AWARD WINNERS • The Leiter Award is tantamount to the Most Valuable Player Award. The criteria is more demanding than just the gauge of athletic skill and prowess. The Leiter Award winner must also demonstrate good citizenship, leadership and the special character common to the litany of previous winners. In other words, the contemporary winner must measure up favorably to those who have won it before him. 2012 GOLDEN EAGLES The 2012 edition of Golden Eagle Testing, which puts players against each other in the lifting and running events listed below, was a very exciting experience for all involved. Beginning in 2010, we added and combined some of the events, creating a total of eleven scores, with the lowest being dropped. The players with 100 points or greater become Golden Eagles. This year produced great competition amongst the team with 14 players receiving the coveted Golden Eagle title. (*represents record broken this year)
