"It was the best day of my life!" is the greatest compliment Jonathan Reeves can receive, and he makes it his goal to

hear it at every event he plans. In 2000, Jonathan entered private event planning, drawing upon his experience as the director of catering at The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Four Seasons Los Angeles. Seven years later he opened International Event Company, and his events quickly became known for how they capture the excitement of entertaining.

Each event is considered an opportunity to fulfill a host's dreams and make them a reality. When hired to create once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, Jonathan sets frazzled minds at ease by reminding them that he and his dedicated team at IEC are there to make sure what is promised is delivered. It's also reassuring to know that Jonathan and event coordinators Margot Hummel, Mari Tsuchiyama, and Cora Kaplan have years of professional experience deftly handling every sort of event imaginable. Noticing that Los Angeleans are especially adept at putting a personal stamp on their festivities, Jonathan is always enthused to share his own knowledge, gained from years of contributing to a kaleidoscope of parties.

The collaborative atmosphere at IEC is instantly apparent. Besides inviting hosts to share their wishes and ideas for the event, constant communication ensures that everyone is on the same page. After assembling a team of proven vendors who are committed to the success of the event, Jonathan encourages his hosts to focus on their guests and entrust the planning details to IEC. Making sure everything goes off without a hitch is, after all, their specialty.

Recreating a 1940s nightclub with sleek Art Deco influences gave the guests carte blanche to dress to the nines. Women floated about the room wearing spectacular gowns while the men donned dapper white dinner jackets.

Taking a raw space and converting it into another world is one of my favorite challenges. The day of setup we run the show with what we call "organized excitement," relying on detailed timelines and a positive attitude to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together.

Choose to work with someone you connect with, someone you really trust. You should be able to enjoy the process of planning an event by leaving the details to them. By sharing as much information as possible, you will be free to think about other things—like what you're going to wear!
